[NOUR]
[Still the same day]
"I don't know what he did, but I won't touch you then. I'll create a healing pod and then fix you up. I'm so sorry about this,'' Alanor said to Nour who looked at him skeptically.
It was almost like the young wolf had given up all hope of ever being saved, let alone knowing what it felt like to be safe anymore. Alanor cast a spell on Nour, one that would soothe his scars, and heal his wounds completely, without causing him more pain.
All that while Alanor was casting even a stronger spell on the house. He wanted to know what had been happening himself and when Nour was healing in the pod.
He got to see it all.
The pain, the assault, the rvpe, the abuse, everything and it took everything in the young Wynter not to snap. He had to remind himself that Nour didn't want him to intervene, otherwise, he would have broken him in so many ways.
An hour later, Alanor was done healing Nour and he saw the young wolf's smile and that, genuinely pulled Alanor's heartstrings. The young wolf looked happy and this time it was genuine probably because he was no longer in pain.
However, all that didn't last long because the door suddenly opened to reveal a pissed Grant. Before Grant could get in, Alanor cast an invisibility spell. He was in the room alright, but Grant and Nour couldn't see him.
"I have been knocking on the damn door for ten minutes. What the fuck were you doing huh, why couldn't you answer the door? And what's that stench?" Grant asked as he walked to his mate and sniffed him.
Instinctively, Nour walked back, but he tripped and fell on the couch. He looked so scared of his fish mate that Alanor was getting blinded by his rage. His lycan wanted blood honestly and it was justified.
"I see you went to get the stupid herbs again," Grant said and Nour looked at himself only for him to see herbs all over his body, especially where he had been hurt. He wasn't feeling any pain, and was healed, but Alanor made it seem like Nour was still hurt.
"Y'know what, I don't care. Show me your back and strip, Grant said coldly as he looked at his mate who was pleading with his eyes.
Nour felt like he was about to be humiliated again and Alanor wasn't even here to save him. So the young wolf turned on his back and right before he could pull his pants down, Alanor showed himself.
"Another move and I will break all the bones in your body, you will never even walk, let alone talk or breathe. Pull back your damn pants and sit. Disobey me and the kingship will be gone but that wouldn't be all, I will kill you worse than the rogues.
"The choice is really yours, Grant Hindley," Alanor said so coldly that Nour looked at him in shock. Grant paused and didn't even dare to turn back for fear that this was just his hallucination. Hell, even his heartbeats had been significantly slowed. Grant was scared.
"Now Nour, I'll only ask this one more time, and if you lie to me, the magic I used to help you, will kill you instantly.
"So think carefully before you answer me," Alanor said and Nour just nodded as Alanor cast a spell that removed the squid herbs off his body, to reveal a man with zero scars and even cuts.
He was in his truest form, like he had been before he met Grant.
"Did the Royal enforcer assault you? Was your mate the reason you almost fainted when you opened the damn door?'' Alanor asked, lowering his voice but making sure he was heard, because he had seen Nour flinch, and he was watching his tone.
Alanor knew the young wolf was screwed mentally and it would take a lot of time before he fully healed.
"I—" Nour began but when he felt the effect of the magic on him, he knew there was no point in hiding it anymore.
"yes. Yes, it was him," Nour said and Alanor let out a long slow growl.
"He's lying. I wouldn't do that to him, Alanor. You know that I wouldn't hurt him. He's my mate. I care for him. I wouldn't deliberately hurt him. If I did it was because he provoked me. I swear I wouldn't," Grant said as he looked at the mate he was so desperate to please.
He had been working so hard to be the mate Alanor would want, and this stupid Nour had to screw it. But maybe he still had a chance with him right?
"Is he now? The healing acted as a truth serum too. You sure if I ask him another question he won't say the same answer?" Alanor asked so coldly like he was studying Grant and Grant felt trapped.
So he rushed to Nour.
If he was going to lose the mate he wanted, then he could as well kill the mate he didn't want right? Besides it wasn't like he had nothing else left to lose, yeah?
"You stupid snitch. You really don't get it, do you? You ruined my chances with the mate I wanted!" Grant said as he rushed to Nour and Alanor just clicked his tongue.
"No one will want you after I'm done with you—" Grant began and Alanor pulled him away from you before he could land a punch to Nour. He wasn't going to torture his mate before Alanor. That was never going to happen.
"So this is what you wanted to show me, huh? You wanted me to accept you when you turned into this vile monster? You do know I hate liars don't you?" Alanor asked and Grant turned to him angrily.
It was like he wanted to lash out at Alanor which definitely wasn't a smart idea especially since the man didn't give two shits about him anymore.
"I'll deal with you later anyway. I was here on official missions to prepare you to be the king of Acrod, and you definitely will take over that kingship, but before that, I think you owe Nour an apology.
"So here's how this will go, Grant. You will never be able to speak, unless you sincerely and genuinely apologize to Nour for all the damages you've done to him. Your mouth will open but not a word will be heard.
"The day you make an honest apology, is the day you will speak, and that is upon the fates to decide, not me, not Nour. If it's not genuine, you will stay like that your whole life. Have fun running a kingdom while on mute and only dealing with the mind links,'' Alanor said coldly.
He had been disappointed by Grant so badly, that he couldn't even stand the sight of the royal enforcer. It was like he was staring at a whole different person with a different personality.
This man was a stranger and Alanor was going to make sure it remained that way, because he refused to be affiliated with a man with such a horrible heart.
"You can reject him, Nour. I'm evidence of his emotional infidelity, so his mark will instantly be eliminated when you do, but yours will remain on him, until he genuinely apologizes."
