Chapter 84 - The Grand Sentence

[NOUR]

[Still the same day]

"You can reject him, Nour. I'm evidence of his emotional infidelity, so his mark will instantly be eliminated when you do, but yours will remain on him,—

"—until he genuinely apologizes," Alanor said and Nour looked at his mate, the man who couldn't speak, and the man who had been harassing and assaulting him for months on end. He was finally getting a break from it all and Nour wasn't going to pass up that chance.

"Oh, and before Nour rejects you. Grant, you mustn't accept his rejection, because if you don't, well, I'll kill you, haha. You must suffer tenfold for what you did to the man meant for you, and for ruining him mentally, and emotionally.

"That is a pain you must bear. So don't even think about it," Alanor said and Grant looked at the young Wynter, horrified. He had known that Alanor was the master of brutality, but this was just beyond inhumane.

This was borderline cruel and scary. The man had literally put a curse on him, and bound him to the universe? How the hell was he even supposed to function? And now his mate was about to reject him.

Even if Grant was the strongest werewolf in Acrod, his soul wouldn't handle two rejections in the span of six months. That was too much for a regular wolf and certainly for him too. But hadn't he brought this upon himself anyway?

It was a cruel punishment, but it was nothing compared to what he had done to Nour. He had treated his mate like a rag doll and now, Alanor had come to the rescue and boy was it so thrilling.

"Go on Nour. Reject this little shit," Alanor said angrily, and Nour looked at him like he wanted to know if Alanor was sure about this. He knew Grant was terrible but he still loved the man. He still hoped that they would fix shit.

Of course, Nour was in a one-sided relationship but goddamn, what had happened had made him feel like he was broken.

Alanor could see the hesitation in the young wolf. He knew the wolf was emotionally fragile at the moment, and with Grant threatening him that he wouldn't ever have another mate, that was uncool.

"The moon goddess will give you another mate, if you wish for one, Nour. Don't worry about what he said. If it's any consolation, the scars are gone and you're back to who you were before this little shit broke you.

"Time will heal you, but only if you're able to walk away from abuse. It will hurt at first, and you'll probably feel like your whole world will be crashing on you, but with time, you'll be fine, I can promise that," Alanor said and Grant got out a little smirk.

Fine? Alanor wasn't fine.

He had been hurt for years and was still chasing his vengeance. But maybe his and Nour's situation was different. After all, Grant was here while Edison was still in Udrad, not to mention Alanor just couldn't walk into Udrad without a plan. But it would work.

"He won't do anything to you, trust me,'' Alanor said and Nour just nodded, as he looked at the mate who was to make his life better and easier, but also the mate who had been a shitty person.

Maybe Alanor had done well in rejecting Grant, but then wasn't it Alanor's rejection that turned Grant into this creature they were seeing now?

Nour looked at Alanor and then looked at his mate angrily. He knew this was probably an emotional decision but wasn't love itself an emotion that the young Wynter had been unable to handle? For someone who would never love him, he had abandoned someone who loved him. Maybe this was Grant's karma.

"Y'know I never thought I'd be the one rejecting you, at least not until I came out. But maybe this will be justice for the identity you ruined, the identity you didn't respect and the identity that humbled itself, before you took the identity's love and adoration for weakness.

"Look at us now. Funny how I can't reject you with that identity, because the goddess will be up on my ass will probably cause chaos, but I'll let you in on one secret, Grant. No matter what happens here, you're on my radar, and maybe this time we'll fight fire with fire.

"Anyway, enough of the theatrics, let's get this over and done with, shall we?" Nour said his tone sounding so different from the mate Grant had gotten used to, and Grant knew this wasn't about Alanor being here anymore.

This was about the power the man had been having from the beginning.

Oh, but Grant was really unlucky when it came to love now, huh?

"I prince Cassius Burda Junior, reject you, Grant Hindley as my mate," Nour said angrily as he looked at the mate he was given, the man who should have been kind and yet had turned out to be a vile creature.

He could have taken him out in the worst of ways but seeing the shock on Grant's face, made the whole thing worth it.

Who could have known that the king's hidden prince was sharing the same bed as him and had taken a lot of crap from Grant? He had been a little patient, but it seemed like it was all worth it. Oh, but it was.

"What?" Grant mouthed, seeing as Alanor had cursed him until he let out a genuine apology that the fates understood. The disbelief on his face and the shock made him look like a fish gasping for air as his mouth opened and closed and now words came out.

Grant pulled his pants up, before he sat on the couch away from Alanor. He didn't want his ex doing any more damage than he had done, but then it wasn't like Alanor had done nothing, right?

It had all been the prince's doing from the onset, but putting up with this bullshit had been borderline insane.

"I'd say surprise but it's not even surprising anymore at this point," Alanor said.

"Damn Cass that took too long damn. Anyway, I came as you called, to prepare him for the kingship, but he's gotta pay for what he did, don't you think so?" the young Wynter added so casually like he had known the man forever.

"It would have been nice if you didn't ask for my horse, you big wanker," Cass said and the Alanor just showed him his tongue as if to say, business was business.

"I have to leave now. I believe you can handle him, now that you revealed yourself to him. If he dares to reveal your identity, I'll be in Udrad, just call me if you need me alright?"

"I wish you didn't have to leave."

"No. You can't do that, not when I'm leaving. I'll see you around. Besides if there's anyone who can reach me faster than even mother, it's you. So let me go have my fun ruining Udrad while you have your fun with him. I knew you'd forgive him easily—"

"So you bound him to the universe and the fates."

"Anything for my favorite werewolf brother."

"Thanks, Alanor and be safe out there. Remember, I'm just a portal away if you need reinforcements alright?"

"I know. And please for the love of the goddess, your house stinks, clean it up, yeah?"

"It's a cover, you idiot. Leave," Cass said and once again Alanor just pouted before pulling Cass into a hug and leaving through the portal.
