Chapter 82 - Oh, I’ll Kill Him, I Swear [1]

[NOUR]

[Still the same day]

As he looked at the werewolf prince, Alanor saw a version of himself. They were both at war but with different things. The only thing that mattered was that at the end of the day, they would have to make the choice.

Alanor already had made his, and now the prince was sticking by him. He was doing this to make sure he fixed most of the loopholes in the crown, before he took over because it was the only way to make sure that he didn't run a broken kingdom.

"When do you want me to go to him? Because once I'm done with this side, I won't be back for at least three years, Cass," Alanor said to his friend who looked at him sadly. It was not the type of goodbye he was hoping for, but then it wasn't like they had a choice in the timelines.

Their world was crashing on them but they had to survive.

"Even now. The sooner the better, don't you think?" Cass said as he looked at Alanor. He knew that this was probably really the last time they would see each other, and while that broke his heart a little, it was necessary for them to keep going.

"Okay, Cass, don't always be the punching bag. Fight back too,'' Alanor said to the prince even though he knew the man could fight if he wanted to.

It pissed Alanor to know that his friend was suffering but then it wasn't like he could convince the man, but he had to try for the sake of their friendship.

"I always get the last punch, Alanor, don't worry too much about me. But for now, go motivate that enforcer for me, yeah" Cass said and Alanor let out a sigh.

"Alright," Alanor said before he portaled Grant's house. He didn't know the place well but with the help of his magic, he was able to get what he wanted.

The portal led Alanor to his ex's bedroom. At first, it was weird as hell, but then as he looked around, he noticed how scanty the place was. It looked less like a home than a house. It was like the enforcer and his mate only came here to sleep.

Alanor thought of Nour, and thought of the possibility of Nour finding him in here. He didn't want to be caught invading their privacy, so Alanor walked into the living room in the hope that he would at least be looking a little presentable.

The moment he sat down in one of the couches, the door to Grant's house opened, revealing Nour, the man who had been suffering all because of Alanor.

At first, Nour looked at Alanor and the truth that Grant had called Alanor here. But then remembering what had happened at the party, he assumed that maybe he was here to talk to grant. Of course, he was, and blur could smell the professionalism from a distance.

"Gideon?" Nour called out to Alanor as he took in the man. Alanor was majestic but even Nour could still see that a lot had changed. Of course, Alanor could see that too.

The enforcer's mate looks like a broken doll, and for a moment Alanor wanted to punch things. He was already angry from earlier but seeing Nour in his current state made Alanor even more pissed.

"What the fuck happened to you, and why the hell do you look like shit?" Alanor asked not even bothering to respond to Nour.

Instead, he got up from his seat and rushed towards Nour, before he gently walked the man into his own house. It was like Nour was being helped into his own home and frankly, he didn't seem to. Mind. He didn't even have the strength to fight anymore.

"I asked, what the fuck happened to you, and don't you give me shit about falling or tripping. You look like you've been living under the gutter. What the fuck?" Alanor asked, his anger making a show and for the first time, Nour looked at Alanor, like he was from a different world.

The man didn't know much. but he knew that Grant was distracted by something. And there was only one person he could think of.

Alanor.

"Don't mind me, Gideon. How can we be of help, are you looking for Grant?" Nour asked, and Alanor punched the nearest wall.

And Nour Flinched.

And so did Alanor hear his own heart shatter in disgust and anger.

"He did this to you, no? It was Grant. He hurt you. He should have protected you, but instead, he lay hands on you. Oh, I'll kill him,'' Alanor said angrily, before he realized that his tone was making the wolf nervous.

He hated this and frankly, he despised what had happened to the young wolf. His mate hurting him? That was low of the lowest.

"He didn't hurt me. Can I offer you a cup of tea?" Nour asked and Alanor stared at him, worried sick for the young wolf who never deserved the abuse, and that too from his mate.

"How long?" Alanor asked.

"Grant will be here soon, please make yourself comfortable while I get a change of clothes," Nour said before he began limping to their bed chamber.

Alanor couldn't believe this. This was unexpected and so vile but for what. Why would his mate hurt him that way?

Alanor considered getting into Nour's head but he knew that would be an invasion of the young wolf's privacy, and clearly, this was something the royal enforcer had done more of.

As Alanor looked at Nour. he wondered if he was going to keep his promise to Cass. He was supposed to convince the enforcer and encourage him to run the kingdom, but if he was just a mere enforcer and was already this abusive.

What would be fo to his mate if he got more power? Alanor was at a crossroads but looking into Nour's eyes, he knew he couldn't meddle. Because that would probably get the young wolf into even more trouble.

"Nour, sit," Alanor said, not caring that he sounded like an asshole. But he was going to try and fix the young wolf. So he cast a spell on the house, one that would make sure the enforcer didn't come back home. Not until Alanor was done with Nour.

"I won't hurt you, I swear on my mother,'' Alanor said when he noticed how frightened the young wolf was. He needed to assure him in the only way he knew of, and if swearing on Criselda was enough to convince the young wolf then he would risk it all.

He wasn't going to hurt him, but oh Alanor was tempted to break Grant into little pieces and throw him somewhere in the Midlands, or even worse, burn him to ashes.

"I just want to heal you. I can smell the blood off of you Nour. I can sense your pain. I'll just make it better,'' Alanor said and he noticed Nour flinching again. Oh, he was going to kill Grant at this rate.

How dare he lay a hand on someone that was supposed to be safe with him?

Hell, Alanor had rejected Grant because he wanted Grant to be safe, and the idiot was here hurting his mate just because he could?
