Wesley released an audible exhale and responded to the other man's statement with an uninterested "oh?"
"Who did it, then?" Calluna replied inquisitively. She had suspicions of her own, but she had no desire to point fingers without evidence.
"It was quite the ordeal," Vin started with a hyperbolic sigh of exhaustion. "Fortunately I was only a couple steps behind you when you fell, and was able to get Wesley over immediately. After I ensured you were in the safest of hands, I had to get down to business-"
"Can't you just tell us?" Wes interjected. "We simply do not have the time for your theatrics today, Vincenzo."
The taller man frowned, his tanned features slipping into a defeated expression. Vincenzo bit his lip then said, "I know we don't have a lot of time but a short story wouldn't hurt anyone… Lightheartedness saves lives, you know? I bet serious people like you die young since you never exercise your heart!"
