Seeing his wife's swollen cheek makes his heartache. If he came sooner, he might have stopped her mother from hitting her. Victoria kept her eyes closed while he's driving back home. He knew that her heart hurt and she's concealing it by closing her eyes because she's afraid to show her weakness to everyone. For him, crying isn't a weakness at all.
Kenzo reached her hand from her lap and squeezed it gently.
"Love, you know that you are a human, and crying is fine."
She gently opened her eyes and turned to him.
"It's okay to cry."
"I'm fine." She mumbled.
"Don't lie to me by saying that you are fine." He sighed and smiled at her patiently. "I am your husband, not a stranger."
She turned to him sideways and held both of his hands, squeezing them and admiring them.
