At the same time, Luka rushed to Yana's apartment to find her after Jin brought her home. An unknown apartment. In a dark room.
A phone screen lit up followed by an amused chuckle.
"They're onto you."
A few simple words written yet another message appeared, "Stay away from that person."
They were obvious warnings yet the receiver was exhilarated, "Finally."
The person threw away the phone and looked into the mirror. Through the window, faint moonlight shone on a muscular man with his shirt half-open. A wide grin on his face. The button of his trousers was open, the zip pulled down but the man had no intention to change yet.
Who knew he could get his revenge so quickly? And on top of that be part of such a big entity? Everything was so wonderful, too wonderful! The man fell backwards on his bed and started to laugh uncontrollably before he abruptly stopped and took his phone to dial a number.
A few seconds later, "Hello? Mik?" the other person's voice came through.
"Paul, I'll be short," Mik turned serious as if nothing happened just now. As if his laughing fit was just an illusion created in his mind.
"About the preparation, I have them done. I'll personally go soon and check out the wares."
"Ah, brilliant," Paul's voice was encouraging, "You're doing a very good job. I can already see that you'll be promoted soon."
Another wide grin formed on Mik's face but he calmed himself to say, "Thank you. See you."
Then he hung up and exhaled with bliss.
This was how it was supposed to be. This was how his life should be. Perfect. Impeccable and enticing. Mik should have it all. He should be in a powerful place and enjoy people grovelling before him, using them as his pawns and look down on others.
"Ah…hahaha…" Mik rolled on his sidse and couldn't stop laughing. This was… everything. Truly amazing.

"How do you know each other?"
"Tell me the truth, did he really not do anything?"
"What about these words?"
"Did you notice anything weird or creepy?"
"It's dangerous to be around him! Did he hear? If you need anyone to help you, just ask me!"
"Yana, look at me! I'm worried! He's very dangerous, so it's safer to be with me!"
Luka sulked and pouted to get Yana's attention but all he received was an eye-roll.
"Excuse me but can you leave your lovey-dovey stuff to later? I'd like to get some flowers for my birthday and it's important," a young man held Luka by the arm as he tried to follow Yana to the counter.
"I-"
"Get to work," only three words of Yana made Luka instantly help the man. Luka changed his annoyed expression to a forced friendly smile, "Of course. What birthday is it for?"
Yana sighed as Luka finally got off her back. Since this morning, the first thing Yana saw when she opened the door to go to work was Luka's face following her until now bombarding her with questions and warnings about Jin. Yana was about to despair!
Yesterday after their way too intense and intimate hug, although they have done much more intimate stuff, Yana instantly pushed Luka out of her apartment and slammed the door shut in front of his perplexed face. She hoped for some peace but the next second Luka relentlessly called her until Yana finally texted him she was fine and he should stop being annoying.
At first, Yana had no idea why Luka acted that way but after hearing that someone said to Luka that Jin was very dangerous, Yana's suspicions were reinforced. Yana didn't know who that someone was, but Luka knew them which meant they couldn't be from the EF.
So, Jin already had a reputation in this high society circle. Yana had to be extra wary and cautious of him. Yana even asked Marie but Marie only said Jin was with the EF and she shouldn't worry which made Yana only more distrustful.
She even had the thought that the Jin they were talking about wasn't the same but since Marie was too busy, Yana couldn't get more information.
Either way, after Yana texted Luka, he finally stopped bombarding her, only to do it at work. In front of everyone. The worst was Luka's shamelessness!
What the hell was he offering himself for? What was that bullshit about her wanting some company or him being safe? Yana couldn't trust Luka either, although she had to admit he wasn't acting too suspicious.
However, there were several concerning factors about him. A- even with Marie, there were no records about how Luka became the CEO and what he did with the company.
B- The fact that he clung onto Yana and made every mission of her several times harder and
C- the fact that he was at the event yesterday with people who definitely weren't good.
But Luka has never tried to harm Yana, and even if he was observing her to report to someone about her daily life or mission, Yana hasn't seen anyone that could harm her based on what Luka could've revealed about her. Maybe, just maybe Yana should trust him a bit and not be that on guard against him.
…or maybe not. Yana's lips turned into a fine line as Luka didn't stop talking and continued to morph into a waterfall as they sat in the breakroom and all Yana wanted was to eat in peace! Yana put the cutlery down and stared at Luka, "I won't go anywhere near him anymore, ok?"
Luka obediently nodded and Yana thought he would finally be quiet. Thought. But reality loved to hit her with several bricks.
"So, tell me why are you so close to him? What do you find so good about him? Why are you so much closer to him than to me? Why-"
"Stop it already!" Yana lost her patience and pulled Luka by the collar.
"What the hell should I do to make you shut up?" each word was hissed through the gaps of her teeth. Luka, however, enjoyed the fact that Yana was towering over him and earnestly said, "We're both free on Wednesday. Go out with me, then I'll stop bothering you."
"Okay," before Yana realised what she was saying, she already agreed, "Wait-"
But it was too late, Luka didn't listen to her anymore.
Very happy and quite endearing he said, "Yes? Really? Ok! Ok! Then on Wednesday, in two days, we'll go out! It's a date!"
Yana's eyebrow twitched. What was he? A girl? Why was he so excited about this-
Wait, what? A… a date?
