A while before Luka found Yana at home. In Jin's car, on his way to drive Yana back.
"You guys seem really close," this time Jin dropped his 'My lady' act but still jokingly teased Yana.
"We're not," Yana decisively answered like always when someone brought this up.
"Of course not, it only seemed like it. My bad."
Yana rolled her eyes, she was tempted to hit him back with a snarky comment but decided to be the bigger person. So, she changed the topic.
"What's your mission?"
Actually, Yana could care less but she just wanted to stir the attention away from Luka. She was still a bit stunned about how Luka behaved. Secretly, Yana was happy about it, although she couldn't exactly pinpoint her reason for it.
"Oh, how gracious of you to be interested in me," Jin sang and tapped the steering wheel while his eyes were fixated on the road ahead of them. Yana stole a glance at his side profile and was a bit annoyed at his carefree and playful attitude.
She and Jin definitely didn't fit together. Yana needed someone more mature yet also warm and caring but Jin's presence was only a hit on the nose, enough to make one snort mucus to paint the ground. Either way, he was a headache.
"I'm suddenly not interested anymore," although Yana seemed to bicker with him, she was overly cautious about her words and actions. She didn't trust Jin but always made sure that he didn't catch onto her distrust.
The more he figured her out, the more vulnerable she became and this was something that should under no circumstances happen.
"My Lady, don't be like this! I'm willing to tell you if-"
"No," Yana's ice-cold response made Jin sulk.
"You're so high-maintenance."
"Come again?" there was a threatening undertone swinging in Yana's causal question that made Jin nervously laugh out loud, "I was just joking, just joking. It was a play on you being a Lady! My lady!"
"You're bad at making jokes and excuses," Yana coldly said while Jin knew he touched a sore spot and said, "Yes, I am! I thought you already knew that."
But he was only digging his own grave deeper. Yana ignored him and looked out of the window, "It's getting worse again."
For the past few days, the protests have started to escalate again as the same old news kept replaying. Currently, the economy was still in a dire situation but the government made no attempt to fix it, only continuing to print out more money. The prices have risen considerably. Yet the government kept its eyes shut and held its ears in front of the public and citizens' anguish cries.
What tipped the people more was the fact that the rich continued to live laviously and carefree while the 'lowly' people had to suffer. At this rate, money soon held no value.
"It's terrible, oh so terrible," Jin pointed out the situation but with his playful voice, it rather seemed like he was mocking the people's stupid actions.
"Are you against the protests?" Yana curiously turned to Jin.
She didn't know anything about him, not even the viewpoint he held. But Jin hit her back with a question that made her aware of his stance, "Aren't you?"
"Should I?" Yana fired a question back. Jin helplessly shrugged his shoulders, "I don't indulge what the government's doing but the protests are useless. Don't they just use it as an excuse to not go to work?"
What Jin said had some truth in it. The protest went unnaturally long. Most demonstrations that showed no effects were given up quickly over time but this one only increased and decreased and increased drastically again.
"They need to at least do something to convey their opinions and be heard," Yana thought that if people didn't do anything and just let things happen to them, it was the wrong choice.
Yana used to be the same. If Roy didn't come, she would be stupid enough not to do anything. Taking actions for one's own belief and work towards their goals was what Yana believed in.
"I'm not saying that," Jin got serious, "If protests don't work, obviously this is the wrong way to go about it. There are other ways to get others to act the way you want them to."
"Such as?"
"Drastic measures call for drastic actions."
Yana's eyes widened, "You don't mean-"
"Of course, I don't endorse violence and such sorts but it wouldn't be bad to have someone shake up the government and the whole country, right?" Jin briefly turned to Yana and his voice, his smile and his whole demeanour changed to what Yana initially felt from Jin.
A dark threat. Black as the night but now Yana also saw, Jin wasn't only dangerous he was capable of corrupting and tainting someone slowly. Yana even went so far as to say that his morals might be twisted. But all of this only happened for a split second before Jin assumed his cheerful persona again, "Haha, we aren't in films, I was just joking."
But Yana was finally sure what kind of person Jin was. Someone who would shake the government and country? Was this his goal? Just to make sure Yana asked, "Why did you join the EF?"
If Jin wanted to use the EF to change the country and politics, then who was he really?
How did he get into the EF with such dangerous thoughts? The EF operated in the dark and in secret, preventing and stopping people with such thoughts like Jin had.
"I didn't tell you?" Jin made a surprised expression as if what he said previously never happened.
"I want to become a hero to save the world haha."
Yana was speechless at Jin's answer. Was he for real? With his acting, he could definitely fool everyone or perhaps Jin really thought his goal was good and an act of heroism.
Yana had to quickly find out more about Jin and raise this issue with Roy.
"What about you?" Jin's question caught Yana off-guard. She only said, ''Because of my family."
"Your family?" Jin was intrigued but Yana didn't want to talk to him anymore, "We all have our personal reasons. Don't pry anymore."
Jin wanted to say something but hearing the resignation in Yana's voice, he decided not to. Instead, he turned up the radio and started singing urging Yana to join him.
However, Yana, "I will kill you."
"Haha."
