Chapter 117 - Who's there?

Yana remained for a bit at the reception before she headed to the toilet and changed. This darkness was indeed beneficial to her. When she walked through the crowd, no one noticed her change of clothes until she arrived at the glass door that separated this event area from the main lobby of the hotel.

This time Yana didn't go via the staircase that led to the gate because the guard was there and Yana didn't want unnecessary trouble of him being reminded of her and leaving an impression on him.

This only added one more person to verify that she was at this event here.

It was best to leave as little evidence as possible behind. However, Yana didn't decide to leave through the front door but go back to the underground parking lot and leave through the exit there.

With the signs on the wall, it wasn't hard to find the normal staircase to the parking lot instead of taking the lift.

However, the moment Yana arrived, her eyes fell on the gate. The underground parking lot was as large as half a football field. White columns ran across the place. Several cars were parked here and there.

The exit Yana came out of was on the same side as the gate but on the other end. The gate was on the right while the exit was on the left. The car entrance of the parking lot was opposite the gate.

But the fact that the flower van was still in front of the gate stopped Yana. She blinked. Once, twice and for a third time.

She wasn't hallucinating. It was at least 6 pm now, why was the van still here? Or did it come back to take flowers? But once the flowers were ordered and delivered, the shop didn't take them back.

But then why was the van here? Yana didn't understand, only confusion overtook her mind and she sought to get closer to inspect the van. There was no one at the staff entrance and the driver wasn't in the car either.

Although Yana wanted to open the van and look inside, she refrained from doing so as at any second someone could come out, so Yana only watched from a certain distance where she wouldn't be caught.

Suddenly, the gate opened and voices appeared, Yana flinched as she didn't anticipate it and hid behind a car that wasn't far from the gate. From the car windows, Yana peeked at the gate but unfortunately, all she saw was the driver talking to someone standing at the gate. Yana was unable to make out who that person was.

But judging from the way the driver acted, it must be someone important and not the guard. Yana observed the gestures of the driver and listened to the faint noises yet because the other person didn't want to be heard, they spoke very quietly and the driver barely said anything, only nodding occasionally or giving affirmative answers.

Yana was still perplexed as to why the driver was here, yet she had a bad feeling. From what she saw at the event, there was definitely a connection between the provider and the lead Yana was searching for.

But what exactly was it? Yana had to figure it out. This might be a crucial clue leading to the core of this mission she has been missing this whole time. Along with Mr Roasaneli and Mik's appearance, the club society, this event, the person the club members talked about and even Luka.

Yana had to figure out the connection between this and their motives. This might ultimately lead her to find the members of the organisation who were spotted in City A. It was clear that Yana was getting closer but the path to the actual truth was still far and thorny.

It wouldn't be easy. Yana continued to observe them as suddenly the driver went to the back of the car and opened it. This was Yana's chance to figure out what was inside!

So, she moved behind the car, she was hiding, towards the next until she could see the back of the van.

For that Yana needed to cover a distance of at least 5 meters, unassuming and inauspiciously. Even when Yana was in line with the back of the van, the rear doors that opened to the sides blocked Yana's view, so she had to take a risk to take a look inside the car.

But Yana was confident in her skills, so without problems, she managed to take a quick peek before she instantly rushed back to hide behind the car.

Her heart was thumping suddenly. She didn't anticipate that the other person would also move towards the van the second she decided to reveal herself briefly. Yana remained frozen without breathing. She waited for a few seconds before she regulated her heartbeat and quietly sighed in relief.

It seemed like the person didn't catch her but Yana was also unable to catch a glimpse of them. All she knew was that they were coming towards her as her attention was fixated on the van.

It wasn't an unusual sight but for this situation it was. Half of the flowers were still in the van. Yana bit her lip and suddenly a realisation hit her. If these flowers weren't all used or maybe not used at all by the event, then did the driver know she was lying to him? Did he tell anyone of her? More importantly, what was the purpose of the flowers and what was the point of keeping them?

Lost in thoughts, Yana heard, "Don't mess up."

This voice came so suddenly, Yana slightly jumped up and hit the car. The noise was loud enough to echo across the whole parking lot.

"Who's there?" this was the driver's voice.

Yana knew she was doomed if she was caught here, so she decided to quickly run away. crouched. But when she came back to the first car, she was hiding behind, Yana miscalculated and didn't notice that there was someone else lying in wait for her. The hands wrapped around Yana, cutting off any escape route.
