Yana found that the manager was overreacting. After all, it wasn't even noon and the event only started late afternoon. But Yana guessed that since it was a pretty important event for these rich people, everything had to be impeccable. However, this meant that the manager and staff knew this event wasn't a normal one like advertised on the homepage.
Yana thought about it when she walked to the toilet and memorised the location as she needed to get back here. Then she wandered through the area to familiarise herself while, as much as she could, stayed out of anyone's way. This was quite easy as most of the staff were busy around the kitchen, main hall and reception area, which was in the front of this area.
Meanwhile, Yana was in the back, further away. There were several smaller rooms that were probably used as a reception hall, to host small events or meetings. Either way, there was nothing in there, so Yana settled down in one of the rooms and rummaged through her backpack to check if she had everything.
Then she just sat there and waited for the time to pass. With each hour, Yana changed the room in case she might be discovered or someone wanted to use the place. Then with only one hour left before the event started, Yana headed back to the toilet and started her real preparation.
She pulled out the dress and high heels Bao chose for her, then put on her makeup and did her hair. All of this took almost an hour and when Yana was done, she heard the loud bustle outside. The event was about to begin and the first people arrived.
Yana checked the toilet before deciding to hide the backpack in the corner behind the basin and a pot of plants. Even if anyone discovered it, they most probably put it in the staff room.
Yana checked herself in the mirror and waited for at least 10 more minutes before she stepped out and pretended to be one of the guests.
Now her real plan started. However, from when she came here to now, there was a drastic change. Not in the environment or surrounding but the whole area was dark. There was only dim lighting to the point it was hard to make out someone's face.
Was this to protect the guests' identity from the staff? Either way, it was fine for Yana. Actually, this was also good because she couldn't be seen, however, the downside was that Yana had a hard time figuring out the guests which was ultimately her goal.
Most importantly, Yana was looking for Mik and figure out his intentions of attending this event and being here in City A when that bastard should be bankrupt and despairing.
At the moment, all of the people were gathered in front of the main hall. Even though the doors to the main hall were open only a few went in and seated themselves.
Yana used this opportunity to see which of those people were the ones everyone seemed to flock to. The truly important people. This way Yana knew who she should keep an eye out for. The darkness was really an advantage.
Yana has prepared a small camera beforehand to take pictures and sent them to Marie to scan but now even if she took pictures, she didn't need to do it so secretly. Of course, the disadvantage was that it was quite dark but nowadays there were so many editing tools that lightening a picture wasn't much of a deal anymore. Yana took out the small camera she had in her small handbag she prepared alongside the backpack.
However, just when Yana wanted to properly scout, a familiar face caught her off guard. Mr Rosaneli!
Actually, it wasn't surprising to Yana, since all the club members should be present but the way how Mr Roasneli just strode through the place towards the back of the area made Yana suspicious.
Apparently, this event was only a camouflage. The real event should be where Mr Rosaneli headed to. It was useless for Yana to scout here. She quickly put the camera back in her handbag and picked up the sides of her long dress to hurry after Mr Rosanli.
It was annoying that the eye-catching red dress Bao chose, was so long that even with her high heels it draped over the ground. It was quite dangerous to walk around in this.
Even when Yana picked up the length of the dress, as she rushed through, she still had other guests stepping on her dress, causing her to slow down.
"It's okay," Yana quickly said as the woman repeatedly apologised to Yana.
Yana could only continue to reassure her she didn't mind when out of her eye corners, she barely saw Mr Roanlie's figure turning around a corner and disappearing.
Even if Yana caught up now, she most probably still missed him. Yana sighed as she stared at the woman, whose face was hard to see in the dark, starting a waterfall of words.
"Your dress is very nice, where did you get it? I'd like to visit the place. The material and quality of it is astonishing," the female now brazen touched Yana's dress briefly before shyly retracting her hand. Yana quickly answered but the woman asked another question.
It seemed like she admired the dress so much that Yana was tempted to rip it off and hand it to the woman while Yana didn't mind running around naked now. But obviously, the last bit of sanity she had stopped her and slowly with much effort Yana freed herself from the woman's small talk spider net.
Yana probably came across as someone important so the woman was trying her best to curry favour and engage Yana in a conversation. The only thing was that Yana had no time, even if she did, she didn't want to socialise.
Yana made her way to the corner she last saw Mr Roasaneli and rushed down the dark hallway. Blocking out noises coming from the reception, Yana slowly walked down the hallway as she listened to any sound coming from any door. It was quiet until Yana came to a stop at a crossing. She had two options: To turn right or continue walking straight.
Yana sighed again, she would've to try out both, if luck wasn't on her side. Thinking for a few seconds but not able to hear anything, Yana decided to walk down the hallway first.
