Chapter 113 - Creep

After that Yana wasn't able to get anything out of Bao anymore. Realising that he acted unlike his usual self and even revealed such a private matter, Bao instantly cursed himself and left but Yana didn't mind. Although she didn't find anything useful about City A, she did discover something valuable.

Bao wasn't a simple person who wanted money to live a great and luxurious life. The money he needed was for another purpose, something personal, and something that might hold a big and dark secret of his.

To find someone and to find out the truth. For some reason, this sounded a lot like Yana's goal she kept to herself before she met Roy. To find her parents' murderer and find out the truth. Yana closed her eyes briefly before she paid the bill. Bao also had things hidden from others while he acted as carefree as Yana back then.

Although Yana was unsure how this piece of information would help her in the future, she somehow felt like it would. Maybe one day she could help Bao, with the resources of the EF it wasn't impossible and in return, she could receive his help.

There was another reason why Yana wanted to get to know Bao and it was to find out why Luka hired Bao and why they seemed to trust each other so much.

If Luka was really someone with ulterior motives, then Bao must know of Luka's plans. In case of this event being true, Yana had to know everything about Luka, the people he confided in and held close, so that Yana was prepared in the worst-case scenario.

After Yana paid for the restaurant, she headed back to the high streets to buy some other stuff she needed before she went back home. Meanwhile, Luka was at the store twirling his thumbs while absent-mindedly thinking about what Yana would do on her free day.

Luckily there weren't many customers today, so Luka didn't need to smile and please all the females the whole time. Nini, on the other side, took the free time to study for her uni exams that were coming soon.

All in all, the store was so quiet that Luka was tempted to call Bao and tell him to try to trail Yana... if only that idiot didn't shut off his phone while Luka called him!

Luka needed to have a good talk with Bao after this, although it might've been a good thing because Luka knew not to cross the line of Yana's privacy and have someone tailing her wasn't good. But even if he asked her like any other normal person what she had done on her free day, she wouldn't answer and just ignore him!

That was why Luka was tempted to resort to such drastic measures! If only she just showed him a little affection… This was all he wanted. Even though he knew he was being clingy, he thought he was still giving her plenty of space. At least he wasn't forcing himself onto her nor would he ever do that. He just wanted her to see his efforts and come to know how much he liked her.

Luka knew that after work he had to take care of the company matters since there was quite a lot of paperwork to do even though he was now only the CEO in name and the company control wasn't under him anymore, at least not the full control.

In the first place, why was Luka even working so hard at a flower shop? He only started working here to be with Yana all the time but now she wasn't here, why did he even bother? Simply because he was a hard-working and diligent person and because he wanted others to praise him in front of Yana and talk about him in a good light so she could see what a good person he was.

Hehe. Luka actually smiled, no, he had a wide grin when he thought about it. Nini who sat at the counter saw it and almost rolled her eyes but she still called him out, "Thinking about Yana again?"

"Yes," Luka's answer came straight and incredibly fast that Nini only had one word to describe Luka.

Shameless. Straight out of a gun, peng like a bullet. Nini could see why Luka liked Yana so much but Nini could also see Yana's attitude towards Luka, so judging from that Nini didn't view Luka in a good light anymore.

It was obvious Yana wanted nothing to do with him, yet this guy continued to follower her around and even wore such a stupid smug on his face while thinking about her.

Who knew what weird and perverted thoughts he had about Yana? Creep. Was another word, Nini attached to Luka.

But since Nini was naturally kind, she still treated Luka friendly, even though she felt protective of Yana and hoped Luka wouldn't step over the line.

Luckily, he didn't. Nini currently was very busy with uni and had no time to think about romance. Even a part-time job was too much. If it wasn't for money she needed to pay her living costs, then she would completely focus on her studies. So, having her studies as her number 1 priority, Nini paid no heed to Luka anymore.

Yana wasn't here, so Luka couldn't do anything to her. Luka didn't know of these bad thoughts Nini had about him and only assumed that she would say something beneficial about him to Yana. Seeing how he could take advantage of that, Luka was in an even better mood.

He also made a plan to buy some flowers and give it to Yana. Maybe it came over as weird but honestly, Luka was running out of ideas on how to woo Yana. His brain wasn't made for this, all he knew was that he wanted to be as earnest as possible towards Yana.

A bit giddy Luka pulled out his phone as he felt it vibrating but once he read the message his smile dropped. He almost forgot, he still had this on his plate.

He still needed to pursue his goal. His parents have started to make moves and now that Luka almost lost his rights over company, Luka was also in a tight spot.

Actually, at this point, he shouldn't be worrying about Yana and giving all of his free time to her, rather than that he had to think about his next move and plans. His future was at stake. Now being in a shaky position, it was dangerous for him.

It was only good that no one found out yet, if the public knew, no, if certain people knew that Luka was now nothing but a figure, even worse just a puppet, he was doomed. Right now what was important for Luka was to stabilise his position and attain more power. He had to become more powerful and influential but here he was chasing after Yana.

Luka was conflicted. If only that problem didn't exist, Luka wouldn't be in this dilemma and focus all of his time on Yana. However, Luka made grave decisions; he still had time, he could continue investigating in the dark.

He still had time. For now, he focused on Yana. Hopefully, this was the right decision because it also meant he selfishly put her in danger if anything went wrong.
