Chapter 27 - What I say goes?

Silence. Complete silence roared through the room. From the moment, Yana walked into the room she had everyone dumbfounded. Three men she didn't know sat around the rectangle table in the office flushed by light from the large window.

Yana could instantly guess what they thought. Something along the lines of who let this girl in? What is she doing here? Did she mistake the room?

However, Yana smilingly sat down and introduced herself, "I'm the representative of the orphanage."

Representative? Orphanage? What did such a person want here in an official business meeting? Yana saw their faces contort into fake smiles before they introduced themselves.

"Hello. A pleasure to meet you, I'm the corporate manager of LXL company."

"I'm from the Nixo company."

"Tyn company here."

LXL, Nixo, and Tyn were among the top 10 companies in city M. Knowing this, Luka just straight threw her into this hell. How in the world could she fend for herself?

But the even bigger question was, why on earth were these companies involved in the remodelling of a simple orphanage?

Something seemed wrong here. Even Yana could tell but right now she had to gauge them and see what they were up to.

After the introduction, there was a heavy and awkward silence. Yana felt the occasional stares looking down at her and she figured they were trying to intimidate her.

But each time, Yana's eyes met with either of them, she gave them a brilliant smile and looked unfazed, throwing the three managers off.

"When is-" just when one of the men was fed up waiting, the door opened and Luka came in. His hair was brushed back and the suit perfectly gave him an elegant and imposing aura.

His sharp eyes swept across everyone but Yana just stared out of the window pretending he was air.

"Mr Luka, you came," the men stood up and greeted him.

Luka stood at the table and had no intention of sitting down. With his hands in his pockets he said with a deep voice, "Mr K, Mr S and Mr M, it's nice to see you."

Mr K was the one from the LXL company, Mr S from Nixo and Mr M from Tyn. Yana almost snorted, why the hell were they using letters? Was it an abbreviation? Or to throw Yana off? Or was it so that Yana couldn't know their full names? Wasn't this unprofessional?

"Unfortunately, I don't have much time but you've already met the project manager of this project," Luka nodded at Yana who silently cursed him.

"What?" Mr K was baffled at Luka's words. No matter how he saw it, Yana was just an average worker, "Sir, you can't joke like this."

"I wasn't," Luka's voice tolerated no objection. Even though the three managers were from respected companies they were still small fries managers compared to Luka, the CEO of the number 1 company in the entire country.

With only one word, Luka could get them fired and with one wave of his hand, their companies would also suffer a lot. They didn't dare to go up against him but also didn't want a woman like Yana ordering them around.

They came with respective goals and plans of their companies. M.M. The company was infamous for not accepting business proposals from external sources. Then all of a sudden, the CEO reached out for a little project like this.

Even if it was degrading, it was still the rarest opportunity they could get their hands on. If their CEOs could, they'd participate in the project personally but Luka only wanted one manager of each company.

So, they wouldn't let this chance go. If everything went well, they might even be promoted in their companies.

"My trusted assistant will handle everything. All of her decisions are absolute. If you have any plans and questions, it all goes through her. As for the funding, the M.M company will be taking care of it. Money isn't the problem," Luka continued to speak and sent a secret smirk Yana's way.

However, Yana surprisingly returned it with a smile, "Boss," the word rolled perfect from her lips and Luka flinched. It was quite seductive.

"Anything I do or say is absolute?"

Luka narrowed his eyes but agreed, "Yes."

"Any of my actions can't be faulted?"

Now Luka was sure that Yana was up to something. A mischievous glint was hidden in her innocent eyes.

"Yes."

Even if Yana created chaos, Luka wouldn't mind. It was easy to clean it up again. He looked forward to what Yana would do.

"Alright, thanks boss," Yana naturally played her part and turned to the managers who wordlessly listened to their conversation.

"I'll be going then."

The moment Luka left, it was a warzone for the three managers to curry favour with Yana. They had to push their own plans forward.

Yana saw their eager behaviours and kindly smiled, "I'll listen to your proposals one after another one. Mr… S please start."

"Thank you," Mr S triumphantly stood up and started his presentation, "The location of the orphanage is excellent for more development. Leaving it untouched isn't a good idea. Our proposal involves a complete land built for the orphans. It won't be a single orphanage, no, we'll create a paradise for the children. We can utilise the space and make an attractive park which will benefit not only the kids but also many other-"

"In other words, you want to take this opportunity to reel in more money. An amusement park? A resort? Isn't that what you're hitting on? Get straight to the point," Yana's blunt voice caused Mr S to freeze.

Seeing this, she sneered. As she thought, these three weren't here to simply remodel the orphanage. They were here to create a place beneficial for their companies.
