Tj walks into Principal Brown's office.
"Ah, Mr. Evens. Have a seat, son."
Tj slowly sits down in the chair infront of him.
"I just want to start off by saying. I didn't do it." Tj says.
Principal Brown chuckles.
"You're not in trouble. This is your first day after all. I actually wanted to see how you were... adjusting to school here."
"Well, it's a little overwhelming. You know crowded hallways, the cafeteria food is gonna take some getting used to. But the school works doable, and I made some new friends, so you know. I think I'm doing alright."
Principal Brown smiles.
"That's good to hear Ton- Tj. You know your situation would be hard on anyone. So if you need anything at all, let me, or your teachers know."
Tj looks down and smiles.
"You know, I've been on my own for... a long time. Life basically kicked the crap out of me for years. Taught myself, most of the things I know now, and struggled for everything I have. With all due respect, I don't need special treatment. I'll be fine, sir."
Principal Brown smiles and nods.
"Well goodluck."
"Thank you."
Tj then gets up to leave but stops to say something.
"Oh and when you call people in here, maybe clarify if their in trouble or not. It's my first day, and my heart was about to explode out fear. Hearing your name on the intercom is really intimidating."
Brown laughs as Tj leaves. When he walks down the hallway, three of the most popular kids in school watches him. A blonde girl wearing all pink named Scarlet McKnight, A girl with white hair named Misty Carson, and Chase Mitchell who's captain of the football team. As Tj goes to his locker, Scarlet smiles.
"Who is that?" Scarlet asks.
"I don't know. Must be new." Misty answers.
"Well come on, let's introduce ourselves." Scarlet says.
As that's happening, Tj tries to open his locker door, but can't. He pulls as hard as he could, but it wouldn't budge. A skinny kid with a locker next to him notices this.
"Unfortunately you got stuck with the only janky locker in this whole school. Just jiggle it a little."
Tj does this and the locker door opens.
"Alright. Thanks for the advice."
"No problem. Dean Zimmerman, tech guy here at Lincoln Park High."
Dean offers his hand to Tj.
"Tj Evens. The new kid here at Lincoln Park High."
The shake hands.
"Oh cool, what school did you go to, before coming here?"
"I was homeschooled actually."
"Really? Wow, that's surprising."
Tj is confused.
"How so?"
"Well, you know, I kinda thought homeschooled kids would be more like shut ins, you know? Anti social, awkward, really bad acne, cheeto stains on their fingers."
Tj chuckles.
"Basically someone who lives alone, wears a shirt that doesn't even fit over his stomach, and yells homophobic and racial slurs while playing call of duty."
As the two laugh, the three popular kids approaches Tj.
"Hi I'm Scarlet. This is Misty, and Chase. And you, are really cute. Why don't you come by my party tonight."
Dean then chuckles to himself, and Scarlet notices.
"Is something funny, troll?" Scarlet says as Chase scowls at him.
Dean clears his throat and quickly walks away.
"So, will I see you tonight?" Scarlet asks Tj.
"Uh yeah, you will. Amanda and Sky already invited me."
This upsets Scarlet a little, but she quickly shakes it off.
"Well be sure to save me a dance, ok."
She playfully slaps his face and they walk away. When she gets down the hall, she blows a kiss at him and turns the corner.
"Ok. That just happened." Tj says.
