Chapter 4 - The Music Store

Later that day after school let's out, Tj rides his bike to a record store where he works. When he walks in, he see his boss/owner Felicia Monroe and her husband Harry.

"Hey! It's my favorite, slash only employee. How was your first day of school?" Felicia asks.

"Oh you know, it was highschool. Jocks, popular kids, disgusting cafeteria food. Pretty much everything I imagined." Tj says.

"Sounds about right. You make any friends?" Harry asks.

"Yeah I did. Three actually. Even got invited to a party tonight."

"Oh wow, your first highschool party. Nice." Felicia says.

"What can I say, I'm thriving." Tj jokingly says.

Tj then puts up some records on the shelf as a little girl comes running in the store.

"Tj!" She yells.

"Liza!" Tj yells back as she runs into his arms.

"Where have you been? You were supposed to be here in the morning." Liza says.

"I'm sorry kiddo, I started highschool today."

Felicia walks over and takes Liza from him.

"She really missed you today. She kept asking if you were gonna show up?"

Tj chuckles.

"Aw, that's my little buddy." Tj says.

"And your my big buddy!"

The two share a high five and Tj continues to work. Harry then gets a text on his phone.

"Alright, you guys. I have to go handle some business. Love you, love you."

Harry kisses his wife and daughter on the forehead. As he walks over to Tj, the young man puts his hand up.

"I'm good with a handshake, Harry."

Harry chuckles and shakes Tj's hand and leaves the store.

"So kid, do you need to take off early to go to that party?" Felicia asks.

"No, that's ok. I can be a little late to a party."

"Are you telling me you're gonna pass up getting out of work early?"

Tj smirks.

"I mean I am the only employee here, so."

Felicia jokingly scoffs.

"For the love of God, Tj. Have some fun already! You've been acting like a responsible adult since you were six years old. Be a kid, kiss girls, egg house's or whatever. You deserve to have fun."

As Felicia says this, Tj thinks to himself as he puts CD's on the shelf.
