The Local Forest Goddess, Yuvera ruled the Yuver Forest with kindness and prosperity. She's a Goddess of both beauty ang heart.
She have a pearl-white soft skin, her ears are a combination of pointedness and fin, her hair have the wave of the sea and the shade of the dark night sky, and her eyes are the green view of nature with a mixed of moonlight.
Travelers would come to the forest and worship her. In return Yuvera would blessed them with herbal plants for medicine and delicious fruits to harvest.
The people would bow to her and show their gratitude by performing and giving offerings. And she would gleefully smile at them with adoration.
But their is something that Yuvera want the most, that no mortal could offer, and only the Heavenly Gods can bestow.
She wants a child.
Every night she would pray to the moon to give her a child. She would bend her knee to the snowy ground, unite her hand and plead to the Goddess above.
After nights and nights of endless praying, the moon finally granted her wish.
After she set foot on the snow and bend her knee for another prayer, the moon's light suddenly sparkled on her pond, then followed a unblossomed pallid lily rising out from the deep water.
A miracle came to her eyes and she hurriedly run to the water's surface to meet the moon's gift.
Every step felt like clouds in her bare feet as the calm surface water vibrated to an infinite spiral.
When she have reached the flower, it floated above, she extended her arms and it gently landed to her grasp.
The lily immediately bloomed in her cradle and then inside appeared a little infant, she fluttered her little eyes open for the first time, showing off her verdant evergreen irises, and then giggled a smile to her beautiful mother, just one look of those eyes, Yuvera already knew that she's truly hers.
"I'm gonna name you, Yuri." Yuvera softly breath, holding the little hand of her own infant. "Yuri, welcome to the world."
Yuvera gaze at the moon once more and said, "Thank you, your majesty.".
Her life now is filled with happiness and parenthood, she raised her child with kindness and love. Yuri inherited her appearance and as years pass by she grew from a little bud to a fully blossomed lily, a lady of smiles and joy.
Yuri always roam her home forest, looking for new things to discover, she also often help travellers who have lost their ways through the forest.
But as the time of internity pass by, Yuri became aware of the world outside her mother's forest and wished to leave and someday travel the unknown land.
When she came to her mother and utter her dream, Yuvera then got scared and immediately warned her that if a spirit leave it's forest, she will lose her immortality, she will experience illness, her youth will fade day by day and death will haunt her 'till she dies.
That made Yuri hesitate and her dream soon turned to scattered ashes, she can't do anything but to let it flew away, and just enjoy the forever lasting life in the beautiful scenery of the Yuver Forest.
Until she met someone, a mortal traveler who also lost his way inside the forest.
Yuri appeared to help him but as their eyes locked at each other, cupid's arrow struck them both to a heart beating love.
And since then they became together, but the traveler stated that he can't stay forever in the forest, that he also dreamed to travel the world and he offered her to come with him.
The scattered ashes of Yuri's forgotten dream then started to come back, and repeatedly flicker her sense of adventure to wake up. But she's still hesitating to give up her immortality, so she gave time for herself to think about it.
In the meanwhile her lover told her stories about countries and distant places, how the world will be more beautiful when she's with him.
They will travel the world together visit places after places, dance the night, hop the hills, leap the stretching sky, and live their lives to the fullest as they step foot on different grounds.
Until she finally decided.
"No! You won't leave this forest." Yuvera scolded her daughter for her hard headedness." I don't wanna see you turn into a mortal, I don't wanna see you leave me alone in this forest, Yuri, so let it go. That dream is foolishness."
"I know that I will age, I know that I will die someday, but before I do I wanna see the world." Yuri reasoned, "I don't want to live forever in this forest anymore, with everything being repeated year by year."
"You choose love and adventure over your mother and immortality. Why Yuri? Why? Why are you doing this to me?" Yuvera let her tears fall from her eyes as her fear came true of her daughter someday leaving her behind.
"Why can't you understand, mother, I wanna live my life to the fullest even though it's short," Yuri tightened her stand and will, "I felt like I'm imprisoned in this forest of yours. I wanna be free mother so please just let me leave, I promise I will never forget you and I will-"
"No I won't let you!" Yuvera exclaimed in fury. "I will surely kill that man of yours if you won't stop this utter foolishness."
Yuri's pleading eyes slowly turned into a frown and then she took a step forward, "Mother, I won't let you." Determination are in her eyes and she won't give up that easily.
Seeing that Yuri won't give in, and is willing to quarrel with her 'till the end, she have to do what she needs to do just to save her from the spreading fire that the man just cause.
Yuvera then grabbed her daughter and throw her to her room, she chanted a spell and sealed every inch of her room to confine her.
"Mother, let me out, can't you just listen to me? And be happy?" Yuri called out but Yuvera didn't listen.
Yuvera must put out the fire before it cause more damage so she called all of the spirits in her forest, her soldiers, court officials, and trusted hands for their presence, then she ordered, "Find that man and drown her from the depths of the river!"
Yuri struggled to find a way to leave her room, she tried her magic but her mother's is more powerful than hers, she tried to smash the barrier by throwing different heavy items but it only pass through.
But giving in won't marked in her head, while still thinking for a way to somehow escape, she suddenly heard a snowball being thrown in her close window.
She then hurriedly open the said window and saw her lover just below standing on the sugar-coated ground gazing at her with awe.
"What are you doing?! you must leave before mother execute you!" She warned.
"No," her lover bravely answered, "I won't leave without you, we promise to each other that we will travel the world together."
"Can't you see..." she sigh, "Mother sealed me here, I can't get out. Just leave this forest first, they won't pursue you out."
"And leave you here, I already said that I won't."
"You won't have to go on, you just need to wait, I promise I will find a way, I won't give in until we will be together again."
The man was bravely standing at the snow that only spirits walk, while the girl of his life is up on a castle of snowflaked trees that serve as a wall barricading them both from each other, but love still holds on.
Yuri can't stop herself from gazing at her window and smile to his prince.
A spirit girl under the trees of confinement and the brave mortal man of travel and passion that is being seize by fate, is something that the gods will surely laugh but we don't know maybe a Goddess will show mercy to their unjustified love.
"I will wait, even though the time is internity, I will still wait." He stated holding out his palm to his the lady of his life.
"I won't give in, wait for me." Yuri gave an assuring smile to his prince, and then took a crystal-like flower from her hair, she gave it a kiss, and then let the blowing wind gently deliver the ornament to land on the palm of her lover.
He then also blow a kiss and then leave.
"Be careful... Wait for me..." She whispered to the cold thin air as she watch her lover succumb for his safety and wait for her await.
Snow of internity, everlasting rain of tears, forever shakles of confinement, love being blocked and promises to be faded will come as years pass by in this unending cycle of pain.
Can love truly bloom between them?
Yuri still haven't given in but time is not by her side, she must need to hurry or her lover will soon pass away as she outgrew him in means of youthful immortality against mortal life span.
While the man hold his ground still waiting year after year for her missing fairy. Under the raining snow of internity, giving up never ever occured in his mind, and love will always control his heart.
Another year flew by again and again and again and again, and then both of their promises started to obscure.
Yuri dream started to fade as hopelessness started to suffocate her, but even though impossible she still holds on.
While the man stumbled from his ground as death slowly entwined it's hands on him, a mortal can never wait for internity but he still holds on.
They both cried their tears and swallowed their broken hearts as they hanged on to their last memories, the day that shouldn't have folded, and they both hold on before the darkness swallow their faded promise.
Then unexpectedly, the moon suddenly showed mercy.
The moon then saved Yuri from her confinement and restored the man's youth for them to be finally together once more.
Their embrace broke Yuvera and her sorrowful tears turned as black as her hair, that cursed her own forest.
For now and then no one shall leave the forest once entered, men will be slain in battle unless they won her unjust competition, that is her revenge for the mankind.
Woman will be salvage and forced to be confined, surrounded by richnest and youth, but whatever women she welcome and love no one could ever fill her empty heart of longing for her lost daughter.
"That's the new law of the forest and every edge are blood stained." Diana have finally finished the forest's history.
"So she's longing for someone she lost." Mayari whispered, "Just how you longed for your mother."
Diana's started to sob again as the memories of her mother, tightened the torn-like loneliness that surrounded her heart.
"I'm sorry I just wanna see her again so bad... even just her grave." Diana sniff.
"Don't worry, I already promise that we will find away to set you free." Evan assured her again.
"I know... But I just can't stop-" Diana then weep.
"Shut up will you." Mayari suddenly stood up and walk towards her, that made Diana pause her sobbing and turn her head towards the approaching person.
Mayari towered over her like a giant, staring right through her like she's gonna pop her eye balls out if she doesn't stop her blubbery.
"Instead of crying your eye balls out, just think of a way that you can be useful for our plan, Diana." Mayari stated.
Evan also stood up, "Mayari you're scaring the child!" Evan tried to stop her but Mayari raised her hand to silence him.
"You stay quiet, Evan, I already threatened her once so why not not do it again." Mayari glance at him and then back at the girl, "Are you gonna be like that lost idiotic spirit?"
"You mean Lady Yuri?" Diana mumbled with quivering lips.
But Mayari gave deaf ears to her question, "Don't tell me you're just gonna stay in this pathetic confinement of yours and wait for the gods to help you? Well, to burst your bubble they aren't gonna. You prayed for the pass hundred years but they still haven't sent a knight in shining armor to come to rescue you and neither did the moon, so stop treating yourself like a girl of innocence cause I know that you know you could do more." Mayari's voice was calm as ever but behind it wasn't coldness but inspiration.
Diana's scared eyes turned into hate but not towards Mayari but towards herself. She hung her head down, slowly stood up, and then clench her teeth like she want it to break.
"What did you think that I am doing, Lady Mayari?" She whispered but audible enough to be heard, "What did you think that I am doing all these years!" She exclaimed as she rose her head to met Mayari's soulless eyes to hers.
"I supported and help thousands of glorious worriers just for them to survive the first spite! I gave them shelter, food, informations and warnings, I healed their wounds and gave my hope for them but they always fail me one after another, tell me Lady Mayari, what did I do to make them all die and kill my hope again and again?!" Diana then rapidly heave, she's been holding her lungs when she was taking out all of her frustration.
"To answer your question, you need to do more." Mayari coldly said.
"What? Do more... What could a useless and powerless crying child like me do more to help! I would only be nothing but a heavy weight to carry."
Mayari's silhouette covered her at front but somehow her predetory eyes was highlighted by the sunlight, making a glow of her cold glare to sent shiver across Diana's spines.
She's looking directly at her, testing her where her limits halt, as her aura of death continues to linger on her anxiousness.
Diana's expression of anger suddenly vanished and then turned to fear once more as Mayari summoned a sharp knife of ice in her hand.
"Mayari what are you doing!?" Evan tried to intervene but no one gave him any attention.
Mayari then hold the knife to Diana's left cheek, she flinched at the freezing touch and she could feel Mayari's breath near her right ear, the same thing she did when they first met.
Then just like before she whispered, "No one is useless, even though a powerless being can do more than it's being use, even someone like you." Mayari then rose from her state and quickly gave words, "So stand up to your feet and push yourself to the limit."
With a quick hand Mayari then froze Evan's feet to keep him from interfering and then raise her knife aiming at Diana's head she slammed it down and Diana couldn't do anything but watch the blade against her wide eyes.
In split second Evan came in, blocking Mayari with his sword, "That's enough Mayari." His eyes is as blue as ever, determined to protect the girl but Mayari also read confliction and anxiety.
"Your quick to act, Evan, in just split second you already break my ice," Mayari coldly utter like she was the enemy in front, "but I won't let you get in my way."
Mayari then push Evan with a mighty force, then she shift her knife into a long katana, to have better strike at Evan's sword.
"Mayari, stop this!" Evan tried to talk but Mayari would only answer through her strike.
Then the clashes of blades then begun, as Mayari strike from side to side and Evan defended.
Their actions and moves are too sudden that they slice and knock off different furnitures in the living room.
Evan tried to grabbed her and disarm her weapon but her defense is accurate and her speed is rapid that made him knock a couple of vases.
Diana watch horrified as her own warriors that was a pair just an hour ago turned into uncertain foes, battling each other in blades.
"Stop it..." She said but both Mayari and Evan didn't hear her.
"Stop it please..." Another tear drip out from her eye.
"I said stop it!!!" She shouted running towards Mayari and Evan, and halt in between them, closing her eyes as she use her little body to serve as a wall against their fighting.
Evan was charging at Mayari that time, still thinking of disarming her. Evan used a great force to give him a better chance against her but in result he couldn't control to stop his blade specially if he just started his charge.
And when Diana unexpectedly came between them, he couldn't immediately stop his own blade and their is a bigger chance that he would hit her than to miss.
Luckily, at lighting speed Mayari came in front of the girl and she used her blade for defense.
As Evan's blade came in contact with Mayari's, Mayari's katana broke and split to pieces.
"Alright, you win Evan." She said throwing down her broken weapon.
While Evan gave a sigh of relief for not accidentally hitting the girl.
"I told you, you could surpass your limits and do more." Mayari's back is facing the girl as she spoke.
"What do you mean?" Diana asked puzzled.
Mayari glance at her, and explained, "Others would only watch the meaningless fight and see who would be victorious at the end, as pathetic that they can be." Mayari then turned towards the girl, the sunlight illuminated her feature out of her shadows and her eyes gave an equal stare, "But you did the right thing and looked for a way to stop us, so congratulation you graduated from being pathetic to being idiotic considering your ways of centering yourself between us that could have been your depressing death"
Diana don't know if that was words of praise or mock, but either way she's glad that Mayari isn't as scary as she is last minute ago.
"Mayari, what's wrong with you?!" Evan then neared her with a frown, "You almost traumatize the poor girl."
"Say it for yourself who almost killed the girl." Mayari replied.
"It wouldn't have happen if we weren't fighting!" Evan exclaimed.
"It wouldn't have happen if you didn't intervene." Mayari calmly response.
"If I didn't intervene, you have probably killed her by now!"
"If you didn't intervene, the lesson would be taught faster."
"What kind of lesson is that!?"
"A lesson of self confident and limitless surpassment."
Instead of giving another reason that she will surely contradict in just a second, Evan just breath a sigh.
'She's cold as ever...' he though.
"Such a weird couple..." Diana whispered to herself, then she smiled, "but at least they are getting along well."
'Don't worry mother, this time I will surely leave this forest. I met a couple that is extraordinary to meet, both kind and cold' then she nodded to assure herself of her new hope.
