"Shhhhhh!"
With a sharp hissing sound, a wild Ekans jumped on Arthur, his teeths shining with a white light – indicating that he was using bite.
But before he could reach him, Arthur reacted. He stepped sideways and rolled on the ground, saving his neck from the poisonous fangs.
The Ekans missed his mark and hissed in anger. Then he turned back and again tried to attack Arthur who was in the middle of scanning the Ekans' status.
'A level 17 male Ekans. Orange aptitude!'
Arthur thought as Ekans jumped towards him, but this time, Arthur didn't bother to dodge.
Before the Ekans could even reach him, Charmander interfered and caught him in mid air.
Charmander had already seen Ekans trying to kill his trainer. He was obviously angry and didn't hold back. He squeezed the Ekans' neck as the snake tried to bite his hand.
Then, without thinking, Charmander directly slammed Ekans' body into a tree.
"Good job, Charmander. Now use Flame burst!"
Arthur ordered and without wasting a second, Charmander shot a stream of fire and directly burned the Ekans who wasn't even able to react in time.
The poisonous snake Pokemon hissed in pain as he felt his whole body getting burned, like someone had thrown him inside a volcano.
That was the end of the wild Ekans and Arthur quickly scanned his surroundings using his system and took a sigh of relief as there were no other Ekans or an Arbok in sight.
It seemed like this Ekans was searching for food alone and attacked Arthur when he caught the sight of a human.
Unfortunately for him, Arthur wasn't an opponent that he could take on even with the help of a sneak attack.
'It was a close call this time.'
Arthur thought as he started moving ahead.
He had scanned the status of the Ekans in time and was able to respond successfully to the attack with the help of Charmander.
If not, then the Ekans would have surely poisoned him and he would be on the verge of death.
After all, Ekans was one of the most poisonous kanto Pokemon.
For record, the reason as to why Team Rocket uses Ekans a lot was also because of the deadly poison it contains in his stomach.
As Arthur walked more, he started noticing more and more Pokemon around him. Using his system, he was able to easily scan them and prepare for any attacks.
This was one of the advantages of having a cheat and Arthur felt thankful for it.
Before a wild Pokemon can even reach him, he can respond swiftly and properly due to his system.
Charmander already had a type advantage over most of the Pokemon living in the Viridian forest and after defeating a few more wild Pokemon, his level reached 20.
At the same time, Arthur noticed that the fire energy inside Charmander seemed to be bubbling out, like it can explode anytime.
He obviously knew that it was the indication that Charmander was soon going to evolve.
It was a good thing for him, but Arthur told Charmander to suppress his fire energy for now. This was due to the fact that Charmander hadn't gotten control over his fire energy yet.
If he evolved without getting full control, he could damage his potential and Arthur obviously didn't want that.
Other novice trainers can make the mistake of evolving their Pokemon without getting control over the basics, but Arthur knew better than to do that.
His personality was shaped to look for the bigger picture and he was able to plan his every step because of that.
'The Pokemon are getting rarer and rarer. It's sad that their aptitude ain't that good.'
Arthur thought as he scanned the Pokemon in his surroundings.
[Tangela]
[Nidorina]
[Nidorino]
[Parasect]
[Raticate]
All these Pokemon weren't those who can be easily seen, but the sad thing was their aptitude.
None of them have an aptitude over orange and even though Arthur wanted one of the Nidorans, their aptitude was just yellow, even lower than orange.
He can just shake his head and move on.
Throughout his journey, he came across quite a few Pokemon, but there wasn't even a single one that favoured what he was looking for.
Once, he did find a green aptitude Arbok, but it was surrounded by a group of Ekans and Arthur didn't want to risk getting poisoned by them.
After all, he was almost in the middle of the forest now and if he or Charmander gets poisoned, then it's hard to say that they will survive, especially without any antidotes.
Like that, he walked almost the whole day and finally got close to the Scyther territory.
According to the treasure map, Arthur's current location was just an hour away from the designated place written on the map.
It won't take a long time before the treasure will be in his hands, but he decided to rest for today.
'The sun is already setting and Charmander is too tired'
Arthur thought as he looked at the sun, then glanced back at Charmander. He didn't know what dangers would be there on the place where the treasure is buried.
And it was never a good thing to take chances at night, especially in the Pokemon world.
That's why, Arthur swiftly made a fire and set up a camp.
He made some extra food for Charmander and told him to train the fire energy inside him after dinner.
It was an important training for Charmander and without any reluctance, he started concentrating on stabilizing the fire energy inside of him as a post-dinner training.
The whole night was spent like that and in the morning, Arthur and Charmander woke up early to start their hunt for the treasure.
It only took them an hour to get to the place where the treasure was buried and on the way, no Pokemon dared to attack them.
Arthur guessed that it was because he was on the border of Scyther territory and no other Pokemon dared to venture even close to their area.
That made the journey more swift.
But as soon as they reached the hillside where the treasure map was leading to, Arthur noticed something.
'Wait! Isn't that a Scyther?'
There was a Scyther sleeping in the shade of the tree where the treasure was supposed to be buried.
