The whole territory of Gloom was in turmoil as the Beedriill group led by the queen came face to face against the Glooms that had blocked their path suddenly.
When the head Vileplume had learned that Beedrills had entered his territory without any prior notice, he had been angered and without wasting any time, he quickly assembled all the Glooms in the territory to fight off against the Beedrills.
Hearing this order, Glooms who hated the Beedrills in the first place quickly gathered and ultimately blocked the path of the Beedrills.
This resulted in the current confrontation.
"Bzzzz!" The queen cried out in an imposing manner while looking at the head Vileplume.
She was telling him to get out of the way as she has a prey to chase after, but moving out of the way was akin to lowering his head to the queen and the prideful Vileplume would never do that.
"Plumme!"
The Vileplume shook his head and warned the angry queen.
Both the species have decided to not interfere into each other's territory a long time ago, but now Beedrills have broken their promise. He can't let this go, so he warned them to leave, but the queen was adamant.
She didn't have time to talk right now. That's why she screamed and rushed towards the direction Arthur had run to, but before she could take a step ahead, an energy ball suddenly blasted in front of her.
Boom!
A large explosion happened in front of her and she backed off.
"Bzzzz!"
She glared at the head Vileplume that had used the energy ball to block her path. Then, without thinking much, she ordered her subordinates to attack the Vileplume and the Glooms.
"Bzzzz!"
"Gloom!"
The Beedrills and the Glooms suddenly started attacking each other and the battle suddenly escalated as both sides begam going all out on each other.
The intentions of the Beedrills were simple. They wanted to hold back the Glooms, so that their queen could chase after Arthur.
That's why, they charged ahead at the Glooms without showing any fear of death, determination evident in their eyes.
Needless to say, the Beedrills were easily outnumbered by the Glooms. Although they have the type advantage, they didn't know many effective bug type moves.
This caused many casualties among them, but they gritted their teeth and pushed forward.
Seeing the sacrifice of her subordinates, the queen's eyes also became firm and resolute and she quickly rushed towards the direction Arthur had fled to.
The head Vileplume wanted to stop her, but whenever he tried to attack her, two-three Beedrills would come pouncing at him. He could only frown in frustration as he looked at the queen rushing away.
At the same time, the reason behind all this mess — Arthur was already at the ends of the Gloom territory.
He had taken advantage of the rivalry between Glooms and Beedrills and had managed to escape unscathed. He was sure that the Beedrills and Gloom would start a battle among each other and now, he was out of danger.
He had not considered the possibility of the Beedrills sacrificing themselves to make way for the queen.
This was a fault in his thinking, but it was his first time dealing with this type of stuff and there was always a chance of mistake, especially for a novice trainer like him.
After leaving the Gloom territory, he finally took a sigh of relief and brought out a bottle of water and gulped it down.
Constant running has drained his stamina and his shirt was already drenched with sweat. He swept up the sweat on his forehead and looked around.
"I can finally take a rest now." He muttered under his breath and sat under the shade of a tree.
After resting for a few minutes, he took out some berries for Charmander to help him recover his stamina. It was not only Arthur that was drained from constant running.
Charmander was the same.
"Charr!" Charmander happily ate some oran and sitrus berries and recovered his strength.
Suddenly, his instincts got triggered and he stopped eating. He looked up and felt that a danger was coming towards their way.
"What's wrong, Charmander?"
Arthur asked, but he didn't get a reply. Charmander just looked at the path that led to the Gloom territory. His eyes gradually became firm like he was preparing himself for something.
At that moment, an angry buzzing sound rang out.
"Bzzzzzz!!"
Arthur's complexion suddenly changed hearing that sound. He stood up and followed Charmander's gaze.
From the bushes, a yellow silhouette suddenly revealed himself. She was twice as large as normal Beedrills and there was a mad fury in her red eyes as she gazed at Arthur and Charmander.
"The queen…" Arthur wondered how she had escaped from the Glooms, but there was no definite answer. Seeing that there were no other Beedrills aside from her, he was a little relieved.
'The other Beedrills are most likely still fighting with the Glooms!'
He thought as he pondered whether he would be able to run away from her, but he shook his head soon after. The queen was already too mad and he was sure that she would chase them no matter where they went.
There was only one way to deal with her now.
'I need to battle her.'
It was the most likely situation for him to win. That's why Arthur had decided to take a risk and battle her.
The queen was alone right now and Charmander was also sick of running away. He can't avoid a battle, so it was better to go all out.
"Charmander, get ready for battle!"
"Charr!"
After hearing his order, Charmander took a fighting stance.
He can easily tell that the opponent in front of him wasn't a weak one. She was different from the Beedrills that he had defeated till now. That's why he was more excited about the battle.
After all, he loved battling from the start and a strong opponent was always welcomed by him!
