"Kakkkk!"
"Weeeee!!"
All the Kakunas and Weedles were taken in by surprise at the unexpected attack. Both of them were already very fragile Pokémon and the joint attack of Charmander and Mankey was enough to take them down.
Weedle didn't have any attacks other than poison sting and string shot which Mankey easily dodged. Their defenses were also pretty weak and they were low leveled, thus just one Karate chop was enough to take them out.
A green aptitude Mankey was just too much for these low aptitude bugs.
As for the evolution of Weedle, Kakuna, they were in a more struggling situation. Their defenses had increased after evolving, but they were sadly against a fire Pokemon.
Some Kakunas did try to use harden to increase their defences more, but it didn't work against Charmander's ember.
"Charrr!"
Charmander remembered the instructions that Arthur had given him and didn't hold back. He knew that there was a chance of these Kakunas to evolve into a Beedrill if they survived his attacks.
He used all the fire inside his body to burn all the Kakunas.
The Kakunas yelled as they fell on the ground while the other Kakunas who were still hanging screamed in horror as they looked at their companions.
As the ember clashed with Kakuna's shell, burn marks started appearing all over his body and it resulted in a quick death.
As a fire type, Charmander was the opponent that no bug Pokemon wanted to face and under his continuous attacks, many Kakunas fell and lost their opportunity to live.
'Everything is going according to my plan!'
Arthur thought as he didn't stop giving orders to Charmander and Mankey. Although Charmander was fine on his own, he still needed to keep an eye on Mankey as he was dealing against poison stings.
Poison can be deadly for Mankey's growth and Arthur was being really careful about it.
Nevertheless, he was very satisfied with his plan succeeding, but he also knew that this was just the start. If he wanted to catch a Scyther and even defeat Brock, then he would need to be better prepared.
"Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz!"
Suddenly, he heard the sound of wings flapping and the cry that was identical to a Beedrill.
Arthur quickly got vigilant as his complexion changed. The Beedrills that had stayed back to protect the Kakunas and Weedles were finally attacking.
'Here, they come!'
For Arthur, Beedrill was a very familiar Pokémon. It was one of the first Pokémon that he had seen in the anime and despite it being a bug, it was still pretty powerful.
Although not as strong as a Scyther, Beedrill was still stronger than many Pokémon and its popularity was still high in his previous world.
It was also the reason why it had received a Mega evolution later on, making it a much better fighter and increasing its value. In the comics, even Giovanni has a Beedrill and once, it was even able to defeat a Dragonite.
Defeating a pseudo legendary was never an easy thing. That's why Arthur was very careful of this Pokémon, but fortunately, the group that had stayed behind to protect the Weedles and Kakunas wasn't very strong.
'There's only five of them with the highest level being 13 and the best aptitude is orange!'
Arthur thought as he swept his eyes on them to scan their statuses.
* * *
Pokemon: Beedrill (Orange)

* * *
The status of the five Beedrills was identical to each other. Arthur was confident that Charmander and Mankey would be able to take on the five Beedrills.
"Mankey, use focus energy! Charmander, use ember against the Beedrill that tries to approach you!"
Against the threat of the Beedrills, Arthur gave out appropriate commands. Most bug Pokemon feared fire and Beedrills were no different.
If they can, they wouldn't want to come close to the embers spewed by Charmander.
"Charrr!"
Charmander screamed as he noticed three Beedrills approaching him. He took a deep breath and spewed out balls of fire that was enough to burn the Beedrills.
The three Beedrills quickly stopped in their tracks and stiffened, fearful of getting close to the fire spewing lizard.
"Bzzzzz!"
The other two Beedrill decided to attack Mankey after seeing the condition of their comrades. They moved towards him, but Mankey was already ready.
Charmander has given him enough time to use focus energy and now the chances of him hitting a critical hit was a lot. Arthur didn't miss the chance and gave out instructions.
"Mankey, keep an eye on the twineedles and use Karate chop! Aim for the wings!"
The two Beedrills kept their distance and used Twineedles - the signature move of Beedrill, but Mankey was prepared for it.
Using his legs which gave him great jumping power, he leaped up in the air and used his Karate chop on the wings of the two Beedrills simultaneously.
"Mankk!" He gave out a cheerful cry as both the Beedrills fell to the ground.
That was Arthur's strategy. After all, they can't do anything when they can't even fly right.
Although he defeated the two Beedrills, it was just the start. He quickly turned towards the remaining three Beedrills that were preparing to hit Charmander with twineedles and gave out command.
"Charmander, counter their attacks with Ember. Mankey, use focus energy again and prepare Karate chop!"
Just like that, both of his Pokémon and the Beedrills continued to fight.
Although they were weak, Beedrills still had the advantage of ranged attacks and their rage move was enough to increase their strength along with the swarm ability.
That's why, the battle took time, but ultimately, Charmander and Mankey were able to defeat them with the combination of critical hit Karate chop and ember.
"Bzzz!"
After being defeated, the Beedrills didn't stay around. They flapped their injured wings somehow and escaped, probably to bring back reinforcements.
Arthur didn't do anything about it and decided to retreat too.
'The whole group of Beedrill would soon be here no matter what. They would have already heard the commotion. It's better to retreat and come here tomorrow.'
Arthur made that decision due to knowing how dangerous a whole Beedrill colony can be.
You can't bully a part of their group or the whole community will go after you. They were the most united Pokémon in the entire world and Arthur was scared of facing the whole community.
Just the queen bee would be fatal to him currently.
That's why he quickly retreated, careful of not leaving any trails. Today's training was finished, but it was just the start!
