Chereads / The Trinity System / Chapter 5 - Fate’s Cruel Reality

Chapter 5 - Fate’s Cruel Reality

Darkness… This is what Fate woke up to. But from the light that entered through the window, she knew she was in the academy hospital. "Fucking figures. They just leave me here without a care in the world when the day is over."

Fate crawled out of the bed she was lying in and checked her condition. She was surprised to see that she was actually fully healed. She had no idea what had hit her, but for it to be such a quick attack, she could already guess who it was that attacked her. "I bet that bastard Sergeant is at fault here. Sneak attacking a defenseless student. I guess his balls must be as small as a male rat's in the slums. Sadly my mother is probably celebrating right now, thinking I am spread eagle on some trinity's bed giving my virginity to them. I can already feel the beating I will get when I get home and she finds out it is not as she thinks."

Letting out a sigh, Fate stretched her arms and legs and walked over to the window, opening it. "Second floor... Large bushes below… Here goes nothing!"

Fate put one foot on the window sill and, with a hop, jumped out the window aiming for the bushes just below. She twisted her body so that she would land on her backside. Luckily the bushes were synthetically made, making them much softer than normal bushes. As she landed, it was like jumping on a bed as her body sank into the bush. The reason she did this instead of going out the front door was because if she did, she would need to check out. "If they come looking for me in the morning when they see that I did not check out, they will need to report me missing to that old bastard dean. It will be nice to give him a headache."

Fate let out a laugh as she adjusted her shirt and went to the main building to the lockers. She still needed to grab her bag before she headed home. Otherwise, her mother would kill her for not wearing those slutty clothes. Fate had not checked the time, but she could only guess it was around eight at night.

She made her way to the main building and walked in. All the lights except a few emergency lights were off. She walked over to her locker, and as usual, it was covered in graffiti. "Do they not have a bigger vocabulary? It's all the same words!" Fate shook her head in disappointment. It all read: "Failure, slut, and trash."

Fate went ahead and got her bag and left right after, heading towards the pod station. A Pod station was the only way in and out of the academy and to the slums. In order to even use it, you had to have some form of id. A pod was an egg-shaped vehicle that hovered above a track. It entered a portal that would activate and instantly bring you to the next destination. If Fate were to travel by foot to reach the academy every day, she would need at least two days just to arrive. By using the Pod, she was able to make a two days trip in an instant. Out of everyone in the slums, only she was able to ride this Pod. And it was not like someone could go and steal her id either since it was genetically signatured, so if anyone tried to use it but her, they would end up being killed on the spot.

The only thing Fate had to watch out for at this time of night were the men in the slums. Just this month alone, many had tried to drag her into a back alley only to end up having their family jewels stomped on and their faces bashed in. But this has been an occurrence she had been used to since she was young.

Trinities think they are of a higher life form than humans, but they are just the same. To Fate, all humans and trinities were no different. They were all greedy assholes who only cared about themselves. Either way, if she had to choose which one she would prefer to be. Fate would choose to be a trinity in a heartbeat. She was also human and very greedy. Fate wanted power as well so she could teach all the people who looked down on her just what it was like to be beaten for being weak. This was why Fate always showed no hesitation in being cruel to her opponents. She saw no need to show mercy. Her enemies were all around. Whether it was home or at the Academy, she had no one who was truly on her side. This automatically made everyone her enemy.

Getting off the pod, Fate stopped into the women's bathroom and cleaned herself up, and put on the slutty clothes her mother made her wear before she made her way to the shack she called home. A small two-bedroom dilapidated house. One must wonder why Fate did not just up and leave. Why would she always continue going home? The answer was simple. She had no place to go. At least dealing with her mother, she would have a roof over her head. She had to wait until she was eighteen to register to go to another world. Whether she was being used as bait to feed the monsters or being sold off to work as a slave, it didn't matter to her as long as she got away from her mother. Once she got to said world, she would figure out what to do next. But now, sadly, another two years was tacted on to her escape plan now that she was in the academy.

Luckily no one tried to mess with her tonight as she opened the door to her home. She could hear the music her mother was playing loud and clear halfway down the street. As she had thought, her mother was celebrating the fact that her daughter was most likely getting laid. Fate gritted her teeth as she walked into the house to see her mother dancing around with a bottle of alcohol in her hand. To call it alcohol was saying it lightly; the stuff she drank could be considered rocket fuel.

"Mom, I'm home!" Fate yelled, causing her mother, who was singing and dancing, to turn her head and scan Fate up and down.

"What the fuck!? No kiss marks, and your hair looks the same. Did you not get a trinity to fuck you silly!?" Fate's mother, Scarlett, walked up to Fate and pulled Fate's shirt down, exposing her breasts.

"Mom!?" Fate quickly backed away, fixing her shirt. Fate was already so angry she really wanted to punch her mother, but she held back for the sake of having a roof over her head.

"You little bitch! What good are you!? Why did you even come home at all if you can't get them to fill you with their seed!?" Scarlett yelled at the top of her lungs. Fate was sure that the neighbors heard every word she was saying. the way her mother yelled, the whole neighborhood knew of her mother's plan.

"For the last time, I will not do such a thing! Why can you not understand!? I have it hard enough now that I have to go to that school, yet you still want me to do such demeaning acts when I am only sixteen!? You're basically asking me to become some slut who spreads her legs for any man!" Fate finally couldn't take it anymore and exploded in anger. "You are a horrible mother! No, I can't even call you a Mother since you probably picked me up someplace!"

Fate couldn't understand how a person who was supposed to be her mother could treat her in such a manner for so many years. She had to be adopted! That was the only thing she could think of that made any sense for the treatment she got at home.

"What did you say to me, you little bitch!?" Scarlett took the bottle in her hand and smashed it on Fate's arm, shattering it and causing a large shard of glass to stab into her arm. She threw the broken bottle on the floor and began punching Fate over and over.

Fate could only protect her face before finding an opening to push her mother away. Her drunk mother stumbled backward and tripped over the coffee table, falling to the floor. Fate, who had tears in her eyes, ran into her room and quickly moved her bed against the door. She sat at the end of the bed on the floor, pushing her back against it as her mother began banging on the door like a maniac.

"Fate, open the fucking door right now!" Scarlett screamed at the top of her lungs while she continued to bash her fist off the door.

"If only. I had another place to go..." Fate muttered as she leaned against the bed to hold the door closed. She pulled her knees to her chin as a few tears rolled down her cheeks.

Scarlett bashed on the metal door to Fate's room for almost thirty minutes until she finally cursed a few times and went away. This was a normal scene in Fate's house. And her only safe haven here was in her room, blocking the door so her mother could not enter. Seeing how the coast was clear, Fate let out a sigh and stood up.

"Ouch!" The sudden pain in her arm told her that she was injured. She looked down to see a shard of glass sticking out of her arm and trails of blood running down it and onto the floor. "I need something to wrap this up..."

Fate walked over to the old desk her mother had salvaged from someplace and opened the drawer where she kept some things for first aid. She took out some ointment that was way past its expiration date and set it aside. She then went to her closet and took one of the skimpy shirts her mother bought her and tore it into strips to make a bandage. Only then did she grit her teeth and pulled the glass shard out. She then quickly smeared some ointment on it and wrapped it up tight, making sure to put a lot of pressure on it to stop the bleeding.

Fate sat down and looked at the door to her bedroom and sighed: "Looks like I won't get much sleep tonight..."
