Chapter 2 - Of Histories and Traditions

Sarafina observed the council until her curiosity cannot be concealed any longer.

"Care to elaborate on the matter in question, Ethan?" She deliberately asked about the details, for she couldn't bear the suspense. Ethan stared at the entire council and got their approval. "Take it away, four eyes."

Maggie nudged Ethan with a sadistic grin on her face. He frowned, but let out a heavy sigh.

Clearing his throat, he precedes. "Have you heard of the new girl, Sarafina?" Ethan asked.

"๐˜•๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ ๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ณ๐˜ญ, ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ?"

"New girl? I'm afraid there is no report of a new transferee. If there is, I should be the first one to know, for I will be the one who will gather up her application documents and other important background details to be submitted to the President."

All the Council members exchanged horrid looks from one to the other, then it landed back at Sarafina, who feels completely out of place within the situation.

They can't be that serious that a new girl is lingering around the school without her knowledge right? Sarafina looked back at the troubled Council members before her, except for Claire, Maggie, and Yessenia.

"Ethan, Ariadne? you look troubled. Care to share what's on your mind?" Sarafina tended to their perturbed visage. The two Council members didn't speak โ€” they just sat there, silently.

The secretary doesn't want to push further, so she let them be with their thoughts.

She then reverted back to the remaining unstirred Council members such as herself. "I see nothing to be worried about for now, isn't that right? Claire, Maggie, Yessenia?" She wheedled the others.

Maggie just gave her the usual sadistic grin and Claire just smiled underneath her phone, While Yessenia just simply nodded.

"Yes, for now maybe," Ariadne spoke. Sarafina cast her gaze upon the History Club's President. She's very much aware that the girl can sometimes bear ill will towards a situation at hand; a pessimist if you must say.

Frankly, the secretary herself is no different โ€” Sure, she's always and forever will be a girl of logical explanations, But when it comes to the person who controls the council especially the school, her logic is irrelevant; it always was. Though she's not the one to give in that easily, her rational mind is something that the council can't last long without โ€” The President said so. The secretary then began to feel warm and fuzzy inside at the mere thought of the President's compliment.

"To put an end to this unnecessary agitations, I shall see it for myself then. If this is true, then we've got to do something to dispose of it right away, right before this gets to the President's attention." Sarafina proposed to the entire council. There never was a transferee that never undergoes application processes and profiling. This should cause a problem if proven to be true.

"Basically, This is nothing other than a hoax. None of us had really seen her correct? we've only heard of her just now because some students are talking about a big gamble taking place at this very moment." Ethan says, perplexed. Sarafina felt uneasy right off the bat.

"๐˜Ž๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ต? ๐˜‰๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜บ?"

Evgenia Private Academy, a prestigious private institution for people who are born with a silver spoon in their mouths. But It has Its secrets or rather, unique traditions which make it different from any other normal Educational institution.

Once you find yourself inside the alluring courtyard, walking your way through the crowded hallways, and getting mezmerized by the school's mystic origins, then your fate is sealed. You are now prone to illegal things and sinister programs that the school specializes in. No matter how devious your mind is along with the complications of calculus, or how strong your stamina is when it comes to athletic purposes, all of those are completely out of validity and relevance inside this academy.

"Yes, Sarafina, gambling," Ethan confirmed. "It is rumored that Madyzon Selinofotรจ, challenges The new girl to a gamble, which the loser can pay up during the Friday Regulation." As Ethan finishes his statement, the Student Council office became silent.

Friday Regulation, It is what the One-hundredth and twenty-three years old academy's traditions. Its purpose is to enhance the disciplinary act of every student at the academy; a lot of different activities are presented that will determine the students' capability when it comes to discipline. At least, that's what the founder intends to be passed on One-hundred and twenty-three years ago. From the first-ever Student Council President, Friday's Regulation has been changed according to what the current President of the council wants to signify with the school's reputation.

Of course, whoever became the academy's current President wouldn't want to waste a given opportunity on such privilege and power to create and determine what the school's traditions and reputation should be.

Everything changed for the academy when the One-hundredth and Seventeeth President of the Student Council came to power. She created a place for illegality and inhabits inhumane nature for everyone to suffer with.

Evgenia Private Academy is no longer for the likes of normalcy, for it is reborn from the devil herself. The academy resembles the depths of hell once this certain day of the week began approaching.

Friday Regulation is no longer defined as a human activity. It is the day where all that seems like normal students let loose their true identity โ€” their inner demon. A killing spree of twelve hours is presented only to verified participating students. Kill anyone you want, as many as you can in twelve hours from five-thirty before nightfall, to five-thirty before daybreak.

The numbers of your kills every week are being calculated and recorded, which will make your way to the "Eradication rank" accordingly. This ranking will be the only thing to determine your glory inside the academy. Turning back can be your bitter demise.

Any debt to a gamble outside the Friday Regulation can be settled once and for all, if the debtors failed to pay their creditors at the given time at any day of the week until Friday morning, you owed them your precious life.

For those students who don't wish to participate, they are of course given all the freedom in the world to not be involved in such a gruesome activity.

"Selinofotรจ doesn't have a record on the Eradication ranks though. I'm sure this is just one of her typical intimidations. She's just one of the thousands of uncooperative students, who don't have the guts to sully their own hands." Claire deducted, the council seems to agree with her.

Sarafina thought about the girl, she's one of the richest students the academy have โ€” all because she's a great gambler, she always ends up earning a huge amount of dollars whenever the council commences their monthly gambling party; their regretful mistake, for Selinofotรจ, chose to leave the council empty-handed at the end of every party being held.

The thing is, they host this kind of activities for the council's own gain, leaving the students gravely indebted to them in the end. Unfortunately for them, Madyzon Selinofotรจ saw right through their deception.

The secretary felt faint, she hates gambling with all her heart, not to mention brutality, all of the peculiarity the school offers, but she chose to swallow those principles just to stay by her beloved President's side.

"Right, Selinofotรจ, I nearly forgot about that wench." The council can sense Ariadne's rage. They really couldn't blame her, she is whom Madyzon Selinofotรจ gambled with that caused the council the major blow on their funds.

"I'm still eager to make her pay about last month's gamble. We still need to take back that Five-hundred billion dollars she took away from us." The President of the History club fired with determination.

Sarafina couldn't contain her pity towards Ariadne, the strong-willed girl who once hit rock bottom after that gamble with Selinofotรจ, for she's been punished by the President and nearly lost her seat in the council.

"Well, what's your resort gonna be Ariadne? gambling with her once again will never suffice. Plus, consider the probability that you might cost the council another Five-hundred billion dollars or more once you try your luck with her again. The President will surely kill you this time." Claire says, along with her childish, maniacal giggling.

"I never said I'm going to challenge her to another gamble, Claire. I'm planning to stabilize my current rank." Replied Ariadne.

This council meeting's slowly eating up the remaining of Sarafina's mental strength for the day, this is indeed a really bad time for the council.

"So, you're planning on killing her during the Friday Regulation?" Maggie asked, raising a brow. "Don't make us laugh Ariadne, The President's been very clear that none of us should lay our hands on Selinofotรจ." She scoffed. "She wanted her to suffer in her own hands for declining the proposal about joining the Student Council."

Maggie throws her sadistic grin once more.

"I am aware of that. I'll only make her suffer for what she did to me, I'm not planning to kill her. That's for the President to decide whether she lives or dies." Ariadne replied with much oppression. "That is not against the President's rules regarding Selinofotรจ I presume, Sarafina?" Ariadne asks with earnestness.

Sarafina simply nodded, not wanting to speak about the topic which the council continues to discuss.

The secretary caught a glimpse of the office's wall clock and feel relieved that this short-termed discussion is about to end any minute now. Afternoon classes are about to start, and she's about to be saved by the bell; that's for sure. She really cannot handle made-up, agitating discussions that her fellow Council members conducted, without the very presence of the President nor the Vice President.

Even though the Vice President contributes nothing at all at every confabulation they held, she somehow feels the assurance she needs that she and the Vice President are of the same objectives and purpose; That is serving and keeping the President safe from this school's harm's way.
