She walked down the street, her feet aching from the heels she had put on earlier that morning. She was just coming back from work and it was late at night. She could walk bravely thanks to the street lights that were installed some weeks ago.
After typing back to her worried mom she would be home very soon, she slipped her phone into her pocket and that was when she saw him. The man who tricked her and never showed up no matter how much she called him. Gyenk!
she ran after him hastily, forgetting about the pain her shoes caused her.
Gyenk, who heard someone running behind him wasted no time and ran to wherever his feet could take him. He increased his speed immediately he knew it was Zora daustram, the witch he duped. would she ever leave him alone?
"Hey gyenk! Hold on right there. I'm calling the police!" She threatened which only made him faster. They ran through many buildings as they kept entering different streets. He was surprised she kept following him without stopping to rest. what kind of woman was she?
Finally, Zora lost gyenk. She was sure he entered a building, an uncompleted one. She followed him inside and turned on her phone flashlight. She searched the whole building thoroughly but saw no sign of gyenk.
"That bastard!" She heaved a sigh frustratedly as she took a seat to rest before going home. Thanks to gyenk, the distance she had from where she was to her home was very far and there were no cabs around.
Rain started falling immediately she stood up to go home and she cursed inwardly before taking her seat again. The time was past eleven and her mom texted again.
She explained to her mom she saw gyenk and was stuck in a building because of rain and would be home soon.
While still burning her time with different games, she fell asleep and her phone slipped out of her hand slowly.
The birds chipped and the light from the sun penetrated into the room she was lying. She opened her eyes slowly and yawned heavily. "Did I sleep here overnight?" She groaned sleepily and her hands searched for her bag on the floor. Not touching anything related to her bag or phone, she opened her eyes completely and saw nothing on the floor, not her phone, not her bag. She gasped and stood up, checking her pockets and scattering the basket in the corner of....basket? She looked up and her heart beat against her chest with the first look. what was this place?
She walked to the opening which probably couldn't be called a door and went out. Her hand went to her nose immediately to prevent further inhalation of the awful smell that welcomed her outside. She was disgusted with the images around her as they kept staring at her. She tried hard to prevent body contact but they all wanted to touch her. She ran still with her heels on to a silent place where no one could see her and relaxed.
"What the hell I'm I doing here?" She talked as she tried to remember last night incident. she was coming back from work...she saw gyank....she ran after him...she lost him...she rested in a building...rain started....she texted her mom...she played games.....she fell asleep. "So how the fricking hell did I get into this stinky place". She was on the verge of ripping her hair out of her skull as she tried to pick the tiniest clue on how she got to a village. Or was she drugged and kidnapped to this place? even at that, who could it be?
She thought for a while and the only person she could think of was; "gyenk!". Yes, he would be the only one to kidnap her...but with what? plane?
She screamed frustratedly, wishing her phone was with her, at least she would be able to call home and tell them where she was.
"shit!" She caused as she scratched her arm. "Mosquitoes.." She looked around, searching for any means she could borrow to contact home but she saw nothing. She decided to stand up and look for any means, hoping to find one.
Again, everyone started gossiping and pointing at her, sending her weird looks which irritated her to her bones. She decided to focus, focus on why she was walking about.
She looked down at herself in glass heels, jean trousers, white tucked inner and a jacket. What was so bad about her dressing?
She asked around, repeating the same sentence; "Excuse me...do you have any means of communication..er...over a long distance?" But all they gave her was a weird crazy look. No one answered her.
She walked around. From block to block hoping she would get to the end of the village and fall back into her modern world.
She stopped and sat down to rest after a while. She was thirsty and hungry. Her feet ached like crazy and her whole body cried in pain. Her face was sweating from the sun and her inner was soaked. "Damnit! I shouldn't have chased gyenk. All these wouldn't have happened if I'd ignored him. How I'm I going to get home now?" She wanted to cry. "My mom. My mom would be so pissed and worried." As tears wanted to fall, bunch of horses rode pass her and people paved way for them. Her eyes caught one of them. She recognized that face. The one on the white horse among them. Who could it be?
She shut her eyes to retrieve the image she just saw and flicked her eyes open when she remembered. GYENK!
She was happy and annoyed at the same time. She was happy because she wasn't the only one who appeared in an unknown village, gyenk came along. She was angry because he was on a horse, riding and enjoying! While there was no difference between her and the villagers who had been staring at her like she was some shit.
This time, she promised she wouldn't lose him. Either one had to die, she or gyenk.
