"Hello," came the voice on the other end of the phone. Anna's voice, which seemed half asleep, picked up Angela's phone. Angela just realized that her actions would raise Anna's suspicions if she was asked why they asked where their boss was. Angela sighed, trying to stay calm.
"Hello… is this Angela?" Anna, who seemed to have opened her eyes more widely, asked more fully.
"Y … yes. Anna, sorry to bother you. I want to ask… ahem, what time did you leave the office? I have a document I forgot to put in the drawer." Angela answered while biting her lip to hold back a lie.
"Oh, I came home around 9 o'clock. There was still Mr. Edgar in the office when I wanted to go home." Answered Anna.
"So Edgar is working overtime alone?" Angela muttered to herself.
"Oh, I see. Hopefully, the documents are still on my desk tomorrow. I went home quickly. A friend's house was grieving. I have Mr. Edgar's permission." Angela replied while grimacing at lying again.
