"Stop teasing her. Now, tell me what did you learn from this story?" He asked.
"Was there anything to learn?" I asked with a smile.
"Kiet." He said with a deep tone.
"Fine. First thing, the decision he took was great, but this stupid girl saved him. Second, he was obviously dreaming about the girl, I mean who stays by your side in every obstacle? You have to learn to face it yourself. If you ask me I define that guy as a complete mindless idiot."
"No one would have interpreted this story as you did." Link said with a facepalm.
"Right fine. Let's see the story from your perspective. So, according to you people are of two types, called and uncalled right?" I asked.
"And so is love." He said.
"Love? The emotionless feeling people use?" I asked.
"Love is the best emotion one can ever feel." He said.
"Whatever. Any way the folk tale is 'The stupid' one I ever heard. And I don't really get the concept of this called and uncalled love." I said with a half sober mind.
"Called love is the one you wanted and sought attention for, it won't stay in your life forever. But uncalled love comes into life even if we don't want it and stays by our side in our every moment and it will never leave you. Example parents love is uncalled love."
"Quiet an explanation. Kick my ass if I ask the explanation again and stop being so philosophical. If that uncalled love is true like you told me, I'm happy it will never come into my life. " I said and drank my whiskey. My mind started oozing because of the alcohol. I know my body's getting drunk.
"You won't know if you won't try. I wish you change your opinion on this matter soon." He replied.
"You know I won't. Now stop talking about this love bullshit. I want to drink and get drunk as you want." I said while drinking.
He didn't reply. I drank and completed the bottle. My birthday is the only day I want to get drunk, so I cannot think about all those things. Link is the one who suggested this, so I can be happy finally.
"Kiet, enough, drinking." He said.
"You want me to be happy. I'm being happy, let me drink." I said with a drunken state.
"You know you can't get drunk. Last year you got drunk on your birthday you ended up in the park sleeping beside a tree and you don't remember a shit on how you got there. I searched the whole night for you." He exclaimed.
"Don't leave me this time then," I said.
I have a problem. Not any physical or medical one, it's rather a condition. I won't remember a thing if I get drunk and I don't even remember what I did in that drunken state. My mind gets blank and it's like it erases everything that happened, but I know one thing for sure.
If I get drunk I won't remember my problems or sorrows, I will be happy and Link is there to take care of me. So, I thought of getting drunk on my birthday like Link wanted I will be happy...at least for that single day. The only thing I know is Link pays the bill by my card and takes me home in a cab. He says it's my birthday so I should pay for it.
I think it's fair. He drinks less from that day onwards and stays sober to takes care of me. The next day, I have to come to the bar in a cab to collect my bike. It pisses me but it feels good and I don't even get a hangover the next day. I don't know if it's a medical condition or a health issue but I like getting drunk and forgetting my problems.
"You sure this drinking problem needs no medical attention?" Link asked.
"People remember after some days or there will be a triggering point, but you don't have both. I'm worried about your condition." He said with a complete sober tone, where I listened with a 1/4th sober mind.
"No need to be. You know I will be happy without remembering those things. You know what people's greatest sin is?" I asked.
"You must have thought of an answer. What is it?" He said while leaning back towards his chair.
"It's remembering things and regretting them. I'm happy I'm not included in those fools." I scoffed.
"I agree with you on this." Link said while taking a sip from his drink.
"See, there's a reason why I like you," I said with a smile.
"You like me?" He asked in surprise.
"Don't get too excited buddy. Like like, not love like." I said.
"Like Like is enough for me," he said with a smile.
"Suits you. You get happiness on small things." I said.
After few drinks, I got drunk and knocked off. The next thing I knew was waking up in my bed. Link must have brought me home. I stood up from bed and went inside the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. That's when I noticed my lips swollen.
"Why do my lips get swollen every time I get drunk? Tsk." I said and splashed the cold water on my face.
Yeah, the next day I wake up after getting drunk, I see my lips swollen, I don't know and I don't remember how. I just leave the matter it's not much to my concen.
After getting ready, I called Link.
"Link? Woke up?"
"Yeah, about to have breakfast. What about you?" He asked.
"Me too. I will bring my bike from the bar and we can study at your place."
"Okkay. I will be waiting then." He said in a muffled voice.
"Why does your voice sound strange? It sounds muffled." I asked.
"Nothing must be because of chewing. I'm having breakfast." Link said.
"Okkay, then I will meet you in the afternoon," I said.
"Okkay." He said and I ended the call.
I went downstairs to have breakfast and after having breakfast, I went to the bar and took my bike. I rode my bike to my house, grabbed my book, and went to Link's house. The entrance exam's date is coming near so I wanted to put the most of my time studying.
I was happy to listen when Link said the same and we both started studying. After having lunch we practice some sample papers and we took off in the evening.
