Chapter 10 - Chapter:10 (Meeting the Princess!)

(After the last Chapter)

I don't how they will react when they know the fact and get heartbroken! I very much hope that they won't come after me to beat me up for fooling them for so long! Poor girls!

Min Ha mentioned some important information too. She serves some of the Queen's relatives who live here in the mansion. And she overheard some gossips about me from them!!!

She also said that the Queen's cousin, Miss Yoon Hee was saying how Prince Shen's younger sister Princess Shen Eun Hua was overprotective of her brother and that she was thinking of keeping an eye on me as I was a newcomer and also spend so much time with her brother!

The Princess definitely suspected me! Seems like things to worry about are increasing every day now. Ugh!

Now, who's gonna pay me for all the extra works I had to do here?! If I could only sell all the info I'm getting here I could buy myself a house and never have to think about money anymore!

But these all will be useless if I get caught or be stuck here forever! And if I can't get out of here, I'll have to wear this annoying outfit for disguise and be damned!

As I was thinking all these and walking towards my chamber from the Prince's hall since my work was done for tonight, two maids of the royal family, approached me and bowed. (Woah! I must be quite high-ranked! Felt good to be respected after so long! Good moment! lol) They said, "Her highness has asked your presence in her hall, right now."

I was a bit shocked, who this 'Her highness' was and why she called me at this freaking time?! I was so tired and wanted to bark at them and say, 'get out of my sight and I'm not gonna meet any more of these drama queens right now!' But that would have gotten me beheaded right away and that's not something I desired. So, I politely asked who summoned me. They said, "Her highness, Princess Eun Hua."

That's it! My peaceful slumber is over. The sentence of my death is coming! Min ha, you should escape without me and live well, farewell!

Anyways, I looked at myself, yeah, I was still presentable. So, I nodded and followed them towards where my doom awaits.

Bring it on Princess, I'll play your game!

As I was walking through different corridors, I was amazed again by the beauty of this majestic mansion! So elegant!

The pretty lanterns hanging around were swaying a little in the evening breeze. The moonlight shone over the pond, surrounding the garden and over the big trees and the unlighted paths. The shadows and the dim moonlight made the environment a little mysterious.

I felt eyes on us. I'm sure night guards are hiding in the shadows, secretly keeping their eyes on everything.

I always felt insecure here, as if someone is always watching me!

The long walk ended before the door of her highness's hall. The maids with me deeply bowed and asked permission to enter. When it was granted and we entered, I instantly ducked my head and bowed and stayed that way in front of the princess who was facing the opposite side, so I haven't seen her yet.

A beautiful feminine voice said, "Raise your head."

It sounded like music, like a string from a violin. I instantly raised my head and stand up as politely as possible.

Her highness was young, maybe even younger than me. She was very beautiful, majestically so. Her skin was milky white with a rosy tint. Her smooth silky hair was black and she was tall and slender, her eyelashes were long and framed her ocean-blue eyes that were so mesmerizing, the same eyes she shared with her brother and mother. Her lips were full and I could tell she wasn't wearing rouge but it was naturally red.

Her beauty made me envy her. After all, I was a girl too. Looking at her also made me a little sad that although I was a girl I had to pretend to be a guy!

As I realized, I was staring at her face for longer than I should, I quickly looked down to her feet before she caught me. She was wearing her royal robe over a flowery patterned silk gown which flowed around her ankles like a lily!

She spoke again after taking a look all over me, "What is your name, servant?"

I looked right into those eyes of hers while having a hint of a smile and said, "Kim Man Suk, your highness." Maybe the way I answered wasn't wise, I should have kept looking down. It was a bold action. She was surprised at my boldness but she composed her expression quickly and made a blank face. She asked a few questions about my family, which I assumed she knew already(well, the fake one obviously) and I spoke the same way, holding eye contact. What's the point of changing when the first impression was made already?! After a little conversation, she ordered one of her maids to give me a drink as she was pleased with me.

I humbly thanked her. The maid brought a cup of tea placed in a tray and I picked it up. I bowed to her highness and brought the cup to my lips. But before I touched it to my lips, it looked a little odd to me. I looked up towards her highness, she was smiling sweetly, nothing odd. Oh, wait! It was odd!!! She didn't smile once since I came till now!

Then I smiled and put down the cup from my lips and her highness raised her brows in confusion. I asked, "Can I request to have some salt, your highness?"

She became more confused but nodded and her maid brought me some. I took the silver spoon and the pot of salt from the maid. I stirred the tea before adding a pinch of salt to it and stirred again to mix it.

Then I drank the tea.

Her highness was more confused than ever and asked, "Why did you do that?"

I smilingly said, "Your highness is clever, adding Hyacinth flower in the tea to poison it, which will make the person who drinks it have diarrhea!"
