Days had gone by like the wind, and now it was time for Noah to leave for La Scala.
On an early morning, a week to resumption date.
"Little one, have you packed the necessary?" Sonny asked as she entered Noah's room. She looked around and saw that Noah had packed most of his things. He was seated on his neatly, laid bed.
Sonny could feel the tears in her eyes threaten to fall. To her, she felt as if Noah was leaving them.
"If you can't bear to see me leave you don't have to look, mom." Noah chuckled. "I could just wait till you've fallen asleep then sneak out of the house with my things."
"Don't you dare!!" Sonny glared at him. She knew that he was capable of doing something like that, so she had to address it with seriousness.
"Alright, alright, I was just joking."
"You better be…are you sure that you have packed all that you need?" She questioned.
"You can go through my things if you feel the need to. Maybe there's something that I haven't packed." Noah knew that his mom was going to keep on asking questions like this so the best solution that he could think of was to let her go through his things.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel like if I'm intruding." Sonny hesitated.
'It's a good thing that Fabian suggested taking care of the transportation of the goods. If I had refused, I wouldn't have had the confidence to ask mom to go through my things.' Noah thought.
"If there's anyone that has the right to intrude, it's you. Do as you please." He permitted and made a gesture with his hands.
"Mom, you spoil this iceberg too much. If I was the one leaving home, I doubt that I'll get a similar treatment." Isabella stood by the door and watched as her mom went through Noah's things.
"Jealousy is a disease, Bella. Go get yourself treated." Noah mocked.
"Is that all you have to say??" She glared at him.
2 weeks ago, after Noah returned from his 'late night run' he found out that €100 was missing from his safe. He knew who the culprit was but let it slide.
That night, he really frustrated Isabella with his comments, and letting her go with the money was his way of compensating her.
Meanwhile, Isabella had been expecting her brother to come forward and confront her about his missing cash, that way, she would be able to get satisfaction from her act of revenge being complete.
Unfortunately, contrary to her expectations, Noah still hadn't said anything about it. The fact that he had been acting as if nothing happened frustrated Isabella very much…
"Is there anything else that you would want me to say, Bella?" He wore a confused expression on his face.
"I really wish I could whip your ass." She muttered.
"In your wildest imagination sister, you still wouldn't be able to achieve that." He smirked at her.
"I hate you…" She blurted out.
"Ahh, that's good. The feeling's mutual." He replied.
"I love you, Noah!!!" Sophia charged into Noah's room and tried to hug him, but Noah was quick enough to dodge her.
Seeing that her first attempt failed, Sophia turned and was about to make a second attempt. Before she could take 3 steps, Noah placed his huge palm on her forehead and stopped her approach.
"Nice try short stuff." He uttered.
Sophia whined for a few seconds as she stood where she was. His palm on her forehead was the most affectionate action that he could show to her at the moment, and Sophia knew this. So she decided to stay right where she was.
Sonny was still going through his things, listening and at the same time ignoring what her kids were talking about.
"Oppa!" Sophia called out loudly.
"Ahh, I'm right beside you, there was no need for you to shout." Noah placed a finger in his ear and massaged.
He turned and looked into his sister's eyes. Sophia's sadness was written in her gaze. For as long as she could remember, her brother hasn't stayed a day away from them.
To her, Noah was an emotional and mental support for her.
Noah was aware of this but he couldn't do much to satisfy her. He had to go to school.
"Can I go with you?" She asked sincerely while also trying to make the cutest expression that she could.
"No," Noah said flatly, without any hesitation.
"Heartless." Isabella sneered at him.
Sophia's lower lips trembled as she tried to hold her tears back. "Hey, it's not like I'm leaving home forever, I'll just be 4 hours away from home. You can give me a call whenever you feel like, text me or whatever." He added quickly.
"That only applies to mom and Sophia, the third one can wait till I return home before she will be granted the opportunity to speak to me." Noah pointed out.
"I'd rather try talking to fishes." Isabella retorted.
"Alright, I think that's everything," Sonny interjected as she looked at Noah's box again. He didn't have much to carry, nor did he need to carry much.
He packed his clothes, shoes, and necessities like his phone charger, toothbrush, and toothpaste.
"What's the time?" Sunny asked.
"9:25," Noah responded.
"If you leave in 10 minutes, by 2 in the afternoon you should have settled in your dorm room, right?" She speculated.
"Probably."
"Call me as soon as you get to the gates of the school. Call me again as soon as you've settled down in your dorm room.
Don't get into fights, don't join gangs, don't let those rich people oppress your self-esteem with their wealth.
Study well, but also try to take good care of your health. If you start feeling homesick, then call me or just come home to mom.
Just be happy while you're there, that is the most important thing." Sonny embraced her son and held him in her hands for over a minute.
Noah didn't resist, he smiled and hugged Sonny back. "Don't worry about me mom, as long as you guys are alright, I'll be happy."
Sophia used this chance to hug her brother, so did Isabella. She too found a lot of comfort in his presence despite his harsh words. And now that he was leaving home, she found it hard to also keep her emotions in check.
"Even if you do get in fights, don't get done in by your opponents," Isabella said.
Noah sighed when he saw his sisters join in on the embrace. "So many emotions in the air, it must be that time of the month for someone." He joked, trying to lighten the mood in the room.
"Ouch!!"
Sonny pinched his back and Sophia pinched his left hand.
"I fear for the girls that fall for you." Sonny chuckled.
Everyone in the room smiled at what she said. After they detached their selves from Noah, they saw him out.
He had two light brown luggage with him, one bigger than the other.
Noah got into a Taxi and left the sight of his family…
Roughly 4 hours later, Noah arrived in front of a baronial huge gate. A little gold signboard was planted by the corners of the gate.
Written on it was the name of the school, La Scala, in bold, black letters.
The walls of the huge 4 meters fence, had vines and flowers around them, with tall trees protruding over the fence from the insides of the school.
This scenery remained the same for as far as Noah's eyes could see.
The security by the gate stopped his taxi from going any further. This was a vehicle that was rarely seen in this part of the city.
Most of the people here owned cars or vehicles.
One of the security approached the taxi and made inquiries about what they were doing here.
Noah showed the security his admission letter and they allowed him to pass the gates, just not with the taxi.
After paying the Taxi driver, he asked for directions to where he could complete his registration, from the security men.
Without completing his registration, he wouldn't be able to access any dorm room and that was a problem he wanted to avoid.
In the eyes of the securities, they had nothing but respect for Noah, they were aware of how hard it was to become a student here in La Scala, especially one with a full scholarship…
Noah dragged his luggage with him and walked for about 4 kilometers before he saw the first building in La Scala. The school covered about 390 acres of land.
The building he was seeing was pretty basic, not what he was expecting. A two-story building with a huge sign on the wall saying 'REGISTRATION OFFICE'. Nonetheless, Noah was glad. This was where he was directed to for the completion of his registration.
"Ahh, shit, I forgot to call mom." He recalled as he was heading for the registration office…
