Scribble. Scribble.
It's been an hour since I woke up here in the library, I couldn't guess if the sun was already setting down or not cause all the windows were closed shut covered with thick curtains.
Still, something was bothering me.
I forgot something, I'm certain of it.
The girl—Hana Lara was in front of me, sitting still on her seat without moving any parts of her except her eyes and her hands.
"Is it about time to head home?"
I asked as if bored, no—I'm truly bored.
Just like what I said, I have no affinity for books, that same goes for reading. I'm not quite sure why do I ask to study here instead of everywhere else, like a vacant classroom, family restaurant, or even in my house.
Or my house wasn't a great idea.
"We still have more time so bear with it and study if you don't want to be left behind" still without looking at me, her gazes were locked on the textbooks "If you were bored why don't we play some games"
Games?, Am I good at games?
Except for my siblings, I never played with anyone else before.
More importantly, are you allowed to play a game in the library?
"Games, you say?"
"It wasn't like a game that involves a moving body don't forget that we were here to study and not to play like a child"
But you were the one who suggested it.
She stopped writing in her notebook and put down her pen, she turned her gaze on me and said "Try to ask a question on me, after I answered you, I'll be the one who asks next. I don't mind if you were the one to asks first"
So this what she means when she said we play a game.
Questions?
I couldn't think of something to ask her, this kind of game needed to have more time to think.
I see that's why she doesn't mind if I'm the one who asks first.
"Why are we here?" I bluntly asked.
I know it was because I was on the verge of failing my grades, but still, I felt something was missing.
How strange.
Furrowing her eyebrows, Hana Lara looked at me confounded.
"How should I say this... Is it because I was too kind to help you with your study? If I answered you with 'of course, to study' I know for sure you wouldn't satisfied with that" Hana Lara leaned forward to me with her elbow on the table and her hands holding her cheek. "So you're wondering, why of all places we were studying in the library?"
I was amazed, she stated the thing that bothering me as though she was reading my mind.
Just like that day when I first met her and told her my story.
When did that happen again? The day that I first met the rumored girl, the day that I first met her—Hannah Lara.
I knew it was between the mid and end part of October, but I wasn't sure what was the day.
I felt my body shivered, she was looking at me with a straight face, she was facing me but she wasn't looking at me.
No, that not it.
What was this feeling? as though she was looking deep inside me.
Right, it was her turn to ask me her question.
"Then, it's now my turn, if you will die tomorrow, why not today?"
Talk about a random question, I guess she couldn't think of a proper question like I was.
Hmm? I heard that question before. I knew that it was from a certain contest.
Pretty common question.
I heard they always answered that it was because they do want to make last memories with their loved ones.
But isn't it unfair?
After you made a precious memory then for a sudden you're gonna die tomorrow?
Die?
No one asked me that kind of question before.
Or someone did.
I don't know, I couldn't remember.
Hannah Lara remained silent as she turned her gaze back on her notes and started writing, patiently waiting for my answer.
"I rather die today than tomorrow" I replied nonchalantly. "I don't really have a reason to die, that same goes for living, I don't have a reason to live but I'm too coward to end my life that was why I patiently waiting for my death"
She replied nothing other than 'hmm', it was just mean that she understood what I was meant to say. Well, that was all she could do, she wasn't the type of person who pushed her ideals to another person.
That's at least I know about her.
Besides that, she was still too mysterious for me. I could say that she was an unexpected type of person.
You couldn't guess what's her thoughts even you looked into her eyes.
Sapphire blue.
A few minutes passed, we decided to head home. Like as usual we were walking together. I couldn't remember when did it started but I knew we were always walking together.
She acted like my eyes whenever we crossed the pedestrian lane, of course, it wasn't like I oblique her to do so. She voluntarily did it.
As we continued walking, she asked a question out of the blue. It was a question—no, a scenario that was familiar to me.
I couldn't remember but I know.
I know but I couldn't remember.
Then she opened her mouth "Did you already heard about the accident that happened here?"
Looking surround me, there was an area covered by yellow police tape. I averted my eyes as I spotted the stains on the ground.
I could see them.
Crimson Red.
"They said that two students from our school died here, they found their body lying down the ground. A female and male student... are they a couple?"
She walked near the police tape without crossing it. "they found the male student head crushed by a large rock while the female was found with her clothes tattered, one of her arms were separated on her body it seems that the limb of her was torn apart, and they also said that she was raped by a dozen of men"
I never heard of it, even once. She was the first one who told me about this.
But why was she saying this? I wondered.
"And the culprits?"
"Culprits? the people living in this area were the ones who killed them, they went insane because of desperation to live that's why they did that"
All of a sudden I felt something inside me, hot, my chest was burning. I gripped my chest trying to calm my breath.
What is this?
"Hey ¿¿¿¿" Hana Lara called my name. "Do you happened to know those students?"
