'Unlike those guards out there, he manages to alert the system. Then why…'
As Noah approached, the boy slowly got up and sat on the edge of the bed. "I already told that gentleman, that I will not say who sent me here. So please leave!"
Surprised, Noah stopped for a moment, about five steps away from the bed, after hearing the boy's words.
"Oops oops, calm down. I didn't come here for that."
Looking directly into Noah's eyes, he asked, "So why did you come?"
"Oops…" Just with that look, Noah felt like it would be better to take a step back, or rather, his whole body told him that, as he shuddered. But for him, there must have been some reason they were managing to keep him locked up in that room, with those guards outside.
And with this thought, that something was leaving him unable to get out of there. Noah closed his eyes for a moment, sighed and took another step. "You must have heard what we were talking about outside. So, I don't think I need to say why I came."
The boy was surprised that Noah was making it through. But, having nothing else to do to stop him, he lay back on the bed, and thoughtfully, continued looking at the ceiling. "You're right. I was really listening to what you were saying outside. But what I asked was the real reason why you came. And not an excuse like the one you gave them."
As he took another step, Noah smiled and said, "What if I said, that I came here to kill you?"
"Obviously it wouldn't be true. Even because you could have done this before. Without getting that close to me and giving me a chance to counterattack."
"So…" Noah stopped and thought for a moment "What would you do if I said that I came because I want to have you?"
Turning his head and looking at Noah, confused, the boy asked "...What do you mean by that?"
After walking to the bed, Noah sat on its edge, and replied, "Well, don't get me wrong. My original goal was to actually come here to see you, out of curiosity. And perhaps try to bribe him, to tell who sent him."
"I wanted to know, who would have such courage to invade this place, to try to kill Sophia. And look at the surprise I got. The culprit is a boy younger than me and also more powerful. In other words, a genius. At least that's what I think, as compared to other people I've met. I think you would be the 10th most powerful. Or something like that, because I don't remember very well."
"But tell me. How willing would you be to obey me if I gave you what you most want? Be it money, or pills…"
The boy sat up and, as he looked Noah in the eye, he replied, "I would do anything. Even kill me…" he looked Noah up and down and, after a sigh, "But you wouldn't be able to give me what I want…"
"Huh? And why do you say that?"
As he let his body fall back, the boy replied, "Look at your clothes, you're probably just a guard. So how would you do that?"
"What?! Guard?" confused, Noah looked at his clothes, "…Oh, this? They gave me these clothes because mine were apparently too torn to wear. So can you tell me what you want? If I have this, or I can get it to give you. We will make an agreement, to ensure that each one of us fulfills what was promised."
"And how are you going to do that? I can just sign any agreement, or swear on my word, and then just forget you exist. Or even betray you someday."
"I'm not an idiot or anything like that. Quite the contrary, I usually don't trust the people around me very much. That's why the agreement I'm proposing to you will make these events you just mentioned become unfeasible."
"And what kind of deal is this?"
"…A soul agreement."
After hearing Noah's response, the boy closed his eyes and, smiling, he said "...Do you really think I would believe that?"
"And why don't you…"
Standing up abruptly and quickly grabbing Noah's neck. As he watched, the boy said, "It's impossible for people at our level to make such a deal. So, with that answer, your fake has been discovered…" he started slowly, putting more strength in his hand. "Now tell me why you actually came here."
"Ah, now I understand. So that's why…"
Completely confused, the boy wondered, 'How could he be so calm, even with me doing this?'
"So that's the reason only those weak guards are watching you." Noah sighed and with just one of his hands he held the boy's arm, which little by little began to shake "Because of this wound, here..." he placed one of his fingers, close to the boy's bruise "Even though clearly, a cultivation greater than ours. It seems to me that you are too weak to even be able to do any thing, against me."
In great pain, that Noah was pressing a place close to his wound. The boy was forced by his own body, to let go of his neck, as he barely had the strength to stand. He then pulled away from Noah and ended up falling down on the floor, for lack of strength in his legs "How… you…"
Noah stood up "How did I find out about your injury?" he pointed at the boy's stomach "Look well, you can clearly see the blood coming out of your wound and staining your clothes."
The boy looked, but he was sure it hadn't been there before. "So how did he know about the injury?" the boy wondered.
"As a matter of fact, he was looking for this from the beginning, when he approached me…"
Noah started to approach him slowly, but when he was already very close. The bedroom door suddenly opened and Sophia yelled "Stop!"
