I watched, as his car steered into the fog, pulling to the right; fading out of my sight. A small smile bloomed on my face, darting to his white blazer. 'A souvenir' I thought, pulling aside Aaron's warning. I crossed the lawn, walking through the cemented pathway. My nose crinkled, thinking about their previous exchange. "Dad, what the heck was that?" I said, climbing the porch. "You almost caused me a fright, walking on pins and needles!" said, showing my pout.
Closing the distance, he wrapped his large bear-like arms around me, into a hug.
While waiting for his reply, I sneakily snuggled, my cold face against his knitted sweater. So, Warm.
"Sorry darling" he said, rubbed my back. "So, how's your date?" Dad said, suddenly changing the topic, my cheeks glowed pink. I squeaked, "Dad?" "Haha, come on I just want to know... as a concerned parent! Haha" he said, as I vibrated in his grasp. Through the ends of my eyelids, I saw his cheeky smile.
