Sael stepped over to Ara and tilted his head, his eyes still radiating the pale purple light. Brushing his fingers across her cheek he took a deep breath. Her back arched as she gasped in a breath. For a moment she remained that way, her body bowed then she collapsed back into the bed. The chain wrapped around her body and embedded in her flesh vanished. For a moment it appeared around Sael then crumbled to dust.
Sael blinked, feeling the Shadow once again retreating away both happy that whatever they had done worked. While at the same time annoyed that he had been helpless again. 'Maybe I am the fake… they seem stronger than me for sure.'
"What happened?" Ara's voice was music to his ears as he looked down at her. Her eyes were still closed… in fact, she wasn't moving yet… and music to his ears? Her voice had sounded inside his head instead of being heard.
