There in the field, stood outnumbered men. The casualties from yesterday's battle was so great that it reduced such numbers greatly.
"Shiyi, this may be your first battle. But I'm counting on you to destroy their shields wall. Yesterday that fucked us up, we couldn't break through, and that caused casualties over 10,000 good men. Think you can do that?" Gao Jun requested as he knows that Kazein is the most agile and most unpredictable in their own ranks.
"Give me one good reason I should go and sell my soul?" Kazein replied with a smirk.
"You can fuck them up and kill them. Isn't that what you wanted?" Gao Jun laughed. Kazein laughed as well.
Kazein drew his sword, in a flash. He disappeared.
At the enemy side, they were silent and in utter discipline. This was the inner force of the Oars mercenary king, trained to be the guard and warriors to fight for him. The meager forces of yesterday are nothing like them. In a sudden moment, one flank was destroyed. They immediately put on their shields and en garde for battle. As the smoke in the flank disappeared, Kazein with his sword by his shoulder, was perceived by the enemy as a single suicide force. They drew their swords, Kazein looked at them, and he disappeared once more. Seconds after seconds, flank after flank, they were destroyed. But the mercenaries knew that failure wasn't an option, and knew that if they were that organized. They'd be giving him an advantage over his area of effect. In response to this, they scattered out into groups of three. Upon sight of this, the red wing order began the attack, meanwhile the cavalry forces went on to flank all the elite forces.
When the red wing order had the advantage of attacking while the enemy was in distress due to the threat of Kazein, the warriors suddenly had a loud battlecry. "Valhalla!!!" They all yelled as in the center, Kazein was on the ground. Then a foot two feet wide stepped on him.
"Hey! Look, I've heard rumors of him! It's Ang the Giant!"
As the red wing order saw a guy eight feet tall, with three feet long arms and a large muscular body, they were in fear.
"Ang the Giant. He lives up to his reputation, he caught Shiyi and put him into that state." Gao Jun muttered to himself.
One soldier asked "Orders sir!" He spoke in their own language.
Gao Jun didn't hesitate "All forces! Mobilize and retrieve Long Shiyi! We shall repay the favor he has given us through this battle! Fight if you want your honor!" He commanded
The red wing order's fears were gone. The Qin army were known for their pride, as cadets, they were taught never to abandon three things: Never abandon a favor. Never to disobey a superior. And never to let your pride lead you, lead your pride. These three things gave them the courage without them even knowing.
So even though they know they can't win, they charged through. When they were at a bows length away, a force of about 200 Qin warriors stopped, then they were in position. They held crossbows by their arms, these weren't ordinary crossbows. By the time a soldier signaled, they started shooting continuously.
The mercenaries saw the hail of arrows flying towards them.
"Tuck Tail!!!" One man yelled.
Those who were fast enough hid behind the shelter of their shields, those who weren't were injured, some were killed. The second volley came, this time, they were all safely in the cover of their shields.
By fifty meters away from the front lines, mercenaries circled around Kazein and Ang. The two were fighting, Kazein disappeared, before even a breath's length later. Ang pulled Kazein out of the air and slammed him into the ground.
"Hey hey. Is that all you got? Did I really just slap a mosquito dead?" This was clearly an insult from Ang to Kazein. Kazein stood up bloody, he wiped off the blood in his mouth.
[I can't win this one. He's too strong, he's even faster than my speed. I can't do this, I better escape and get stronger.]
"Then, should we finish this?" Ang took two axes from the side, he swung one axe towards Kazein. Just when it was about to hit Kazein, the sound of metal clanging together echoed through the air.
"Oh? Someone interfering in a duel is no good. No no no." Ang swung his head side to side while clicking his tongue.
"Go now! Shiyi!"
Kazein looked up, it was Gao Jun blocking the axe's path with his spears blade. What strength, an axe is known for its swinging force, while a spear is known for its piercing prowess. The two are basically ice and fire of two faces. It's amazing that Gao Jun blocked such a strong blow from Ang the Giant.
Ang swung the other axe to breakthrough Gao Jun's spear. Unfortunately, Gao Jun was steadfast, although his arms can be seen to shake.
"Go! I can't hold it for long!"
"Right!" Kazein didn't hesitate to leave even though Gao Jun saved his life. He disappeared, but then he was sent flying back to the encircled area.
"Damn! Just when Ang the Giant is already troublesome, another one appeared. Oro the silent killer!"
By the encircled area, Kazein who hit the shield walls was pushed back by those holding the wall. And there, appeared a man who had incomplete teeth and a deformed figure, his head had a concave in it, his back was curved to the point that he walks on all fours.
"Damn, just our luck. Oro the silent killer, Ang the Giant. Now what?" Gao Jun broke off the lock within his spear and Ang's axe's.
A blade went flying towards Kazein, in just the nick of time he dodges, then stood up and retreated to Gao Jun's back.
"Think you can still fight?" Gao Jun asked.
Kazein nodded "Yeah, leave this Oro guy to me. Take care of that Ang guy. He seems to have a strong field of vision, be careful."
"Yeah, Oro is an expert in assassinations, he should be a rival you'll want to surpass." Gao Jun replied to Kazein's warning on Ang.
"Heeey, you two ready there? Since there's two of you and there's two of us. Why don't we fight it out?" Ang called out.
"Kekekeke, a crippled blind man and a big troublesome spear guy. Can't wait to make skin out of them." Oro had a hideous laugh.
However, Kazein who unknowingly still has the healing jewel was back on full power. Blood stopped oozing out of his head and his broken bones we're back to normal. If it comes to a battle of attrition, Kazein will surely win. But if something faster than him kills him without him knowing, he'd surely die.
"Haha, never did I know that you guys had a secret force. Well, I get the chance to fight you."
"Kekekeke, poor brat. Let me put you out of your misery!" Oro yelled as three knives went flying towards Kazein.
He felt the knives flying towards him, he dodges, then his field blurred. "Argh!" He cried out in pain. Behind him was a dagger stuck in his back. "Ack!" Then, another one was stabbed unto his leg.
Even with the constant healing of the jewel, the damage couldn't keep up with it. In the end, Kazein fell to his knees.
Meanwhile, Gao Jun was constantly attacking Ang who kept on blocking his attacks. When an attack connected, Ang dodged it by a hard length. Ang then countered with a destructive charge, Gao Jun had his spear blocking Ang's body as Ang pushed him through the area. Gao Jun barely held his ground. In the end, he was beaten in a battle of strength.
Kazein felt a throbbing in his chest. Then, his head ached, he held it in two arms and yelled in pain as he saw a flowing stream of darkness.
Bang!!!
