[A shrewd emperor. Inviting me to a feast and keeping an eye on me. I better be cautious, if the dreams I had were real. It could end up biting me right where it hurts.]
"Hey! Shiyi, what are you spacing out for?" Gao Jun patted his shoulder as Kazein looked behind him.
"Nothing. Just thinking about stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" Gao Jun asked curiously.
"Like who was hunting me down that time. If I were to figure it all out, I'd go back."
Gao Jun had a Stern look on his face "You know Shiyi. Princess Qin likes you. I'm sure of it. And I like you too, I may not look like it, but I was a bandit since young. When I reached the end of the line, I wondered, where did I go wrong? It was then that I realized. I became a bandit because the bandits killed my family. Quite ironic don't you think?"
"I guess so."
"But it was so I could find them and kill the bandits that took my family. Before I knew it, more rogues and thieves joined me. I got my revenge after I found them at an inn, drinking without worry. I drove a sword to one's neck, then I killed the other five without them knowing it. After which, I escaped, someone called the guards. I was pursued to the borders, there I was caught by the emperor's younger brother, Qin GuRen. He listened to my story after I was in his basement awaiting for the royal guards to come and aqcuit me. But he gave me a chance, took responsibility if ever I do something bad, and put me in the academy. That's how I got to where I was now." Gao Jun told him his story.
"What's it got to do with me?" Kazein asked selflessly.
"I'm saying. If I didn't want revenge, I wouldn't have lived the miserable life of a bandit. Always on the run. So if you want to face what was haunting you, go. I'm sure princess Qin will understand."
"Haha. What are you, my father? Anyways, I plan to face it all when I get far stronger than I was."
"Well then, you better join the academy and get into the army, formally. I heard the emperor will give those who get into the army a chance to get mentored by the seven Dragons and seven Phoenix's. I only got mentored by a former dragon though." Gao Jun laughed to liven up the mood.
"I think I should rest while I can. If the emperor will throw a feast, I think it's a good idea to get along with anyone there." Kazein left and waved his hands good bye.
Gao Jun didn't follow, although he said from the distance "Ya better get a good rest. Emperor won't just let you leave later on!"
At Kazein's provided room, he looked outside the door and sat by the entrance. It was then that he sensed something familiar, something that only he can hear. The sound of the sword. He grabbed the white blade and ran through following the sound, his field was filled stuff he has never seen before, but that doesn't hinder him. He ran through to the end where he set foot upon a garden. The grass was tingling unto his feet, the breeze blew fiercely and the trees shuddered through the gentle breeze.
There, he sensed a cold figure, dancing with her sword. The only thing his field could have sensed back then was this figure, elegantly dancing with the sword she held by her gentle hands. Her long hair swayed as beautifully as it was. She noticed Kazein who was looking at her figure. Suddenly, she stopped and had an angry expression "Foul beast!" She yelled as she stepped forward and made a forward thrust with her double edged sword. Kazein dodges as he drew his own sword, the woman noticed the blade, then withdrew hers. After the quick withdraw, she slashed down as she was still in mid air. Kazein blocked it with the scabbard, the woman then used it as a foothold and flipped above air and landed behind Kazein.
Her sword was about to his Kazein's back when suddenly, it was blocked. Kazein reacted immediately and blocked with his sword while he was still facing in front.
The woman got back made a more faster approach. However, when it comes to speed, Kazein isn't lacking. He blocked the incoming attack, then five more followed through in just half a second. She was fast when it came to quick attacks. Kazein blocked 5 of them, but the last one hit his chest. Luckily, he dodged by a hairs length and only got a scratch. Then, the woman gave on forward thrusts so fast they couldn't be seen even with Kazein's field. He took on more than ten blows from sword, he was just so luckily it didn't kill him. Just when Kazein was to counter attack, a blunt blow hit his head. It was the woman's scabbard that hit him. Slowly he fell to the ground, he was on his knees, the woman then hit Kazein's neck with the scabbard once more, causing him to fall unconscious.
The woman sheathed her sword, then she sat down. "Hmm. Now what?..."
Two hours later, Kazein woke up, then he suddenly sat up looking for his sword. He couldn't find where it was, then he used his field. He saw the cold figure a while ago, looking at his sword along with the scabbard.
She noticed him, she then quietly sheathed it and gave it back. Then she turned her back to leave, when "Hey! What's your name?" Kazein stopped her with the question.
The woman stopped and looked behind her "Fei Xian'er. Don't remember it." She continued to walk away.
"Shiyi! Remember it! I'll look for you once again so we can fight once more."
"Do as you wish. Shiyi. I'll remember it." She walked away as Kazein looks at the cold aura her figure emits.
"I lost to a woman. I lost in terms of speed and technique. Just how weak am I? If I can just hold on and grasp that black flow, maybe, just maybe I can go on par once more against Ang."
"Hey!!! You idiot!!! It's already time for the feast! Why are you sleeping at this sacred garden?! Idiot!" Gao Jun ran towards Kazein like a madman.
"Ah? Right. Let's go." Kazein replied as though he just remembered.
"Ah? Right. Let's go." Gao Jun impersonated Kazein "Like hell! You have to be there! The emperor is making a ruckus out of it!"
Just like that, Gao Jun dragged him away from the garden.
