"What the fuck just happened?" Leon asked as soon as they were safe in Darian's apartment, closing the door behind him.
"I have no clue." Darian muttered, striding to his bedroom, worry bleeding through his voice.
It was very ego stroking to think that he and Leo teaming up on Jaxon made him pass out… actually wait, now that he had thought that, it seemed highly likely.
"You think so too huh?" Leon asked, staring intently at Darian.
"Was I that transparent?" He scoffed, gently laying Jaxon down on his immaculately made bed. "Or it's something else entirely and we're dumbasses who should have taken him down to the Pack clinic instead of sneaking him here." He added, heading over to his closet to grab a shirt which he tossed at Leon. "Put that on, you're making my eyes hurt."
"Shana would skin us alive and leave our bodies for the crows." Leon said bluntly, obediently putting on the shirt, he was too busy worrying about other things to taunt Darian.
Darian froze midstep, turning around to glance at Leon. "I thought they didn't get along."
Leon scoffed. "Jaxie teased her cruelly while they were young, it's no surprise she acts like he's not her favorite person but, bring her only brother in this way without any logical explanation and you'll understand why both Alphas are wary around her."
Darian grimaced, leaning over to make sure that Jaxon was breathing. "Actually, wait, I think he's waking up." He noted, giving the Head Beta some space.
"Thank fuck." Leon muttered with evident relief, settling on the edge of a bedside dresser.
Darian ignored this very irritating action, instead concentrating on how Jaxon's wild hair framed his rather too pale face, lips looking redder against pale skin, lashes fluttering.
Jaxom woke up slowly, his consciousness returning sluggishly.
The first sensation he registered was how silky smooth the sheets were… wait, sheets? That wasn't right.
His eyes flew open in a flash, the first view he got was of Darian and Leon looking down worriedly at him, he noted with relief that at least Leon was clothed.
He shook his head slightly, still feeling woozy, that shouldn't be what he should be thinking of.
There were far more important things like what the hell had happened back in his office? And had he passed out like a sissy? Right in front of both of them?
He had to get out of here.
The two Head Warriors were by his side in no time, two pairs of eyes scanning him over for injuries.
"Are you okay? How do you feel?" Darian immediately asked.
Jaxon was tongue tied for a split second before shooting upright, darting eyes looking for an escape.
"Just… just fine." He replied distractedly, his stomach rumbling slightly which gave him the perfect excuse.
"You fucking blacked out." Leon said in a hard voice, staring holes through the side of his face
"I just forgot to eat, I'll be fine after I do." He said quickly, dashing from the bed.
His response stunned the two of them long enough for him to put some distance between him and them which was a good thing.
"Wait, what?" Darian reacted first, hurrying after Jaxon.
"What do you mean you forgot to eat?" Leon called after his quickly retreating form.
Jaxon didn't reply, practically running down the hallway.
Darian stopped Leon from going after him, the last thing they needed was another fainting fit.
"Unbelievable." Leon muttered, pacing a bit.
"I say it's all your fault." Darian prowled over to his kitchen to get himself a drink of water.
"I beg to differ." Leon drawled, crowding Darian against the sink, he used his arms to cage the second in command in, his eyes shards of ice.
He wasn't wrong this time because he wouldn't have pushed if Darian hadn't started it first.
"So how about you stay the fuck away from Cherry."
Darian just casually sipped his glass of water, unfazed. "So you can go back to ogling from afar?"
"What?" Leon reeled back.
"You heard me." Darian said coolly coolly, standing to his full height which forced Leon to step back, still unnerved by Darian's words.
"Well, I'm not going to pretend like I'm any better, Jaxon is just too dense that it apparently takes the both of us to get through to him." He added, rinsing off his glass and returning it to its cupboard.
Leon went quiet, his eyes stormy as he seemed to have an intense internal argument. "I don't like the sound of that."
"Neither do I." Darian slammed the cupboard shut.
Leon could imagine, he also couldn't deny the truth in Darian's words. Hate as he might to admit it, this back and forth with Jaxie would continue endlessly if he did not try something else.
Just his luck that Darian had to be that something else.
Darian's interest in Jaxie as well was no secret, hell, the entire Pack just about knew, wisely shutting up about it because the last thing anyone would have predicted was Leon being serious about someone and Darian even having an idea of what an attraction might be.
So it was a well known secret that he and Darian were interested in Jaxon, known by practically everyone but Jaxon himself.
It had started off lightly but it had been months and neither seemed to be backing down, they could not even get Jaxon to pick because he had no fucking clue.
"What's going to happen after?" He asked in a thoughtful voice, looking out a window, getting a view of the bright, cloudy sky outside.
Darian shrugged, thinking that far usually gave him a headache. "He chooses who he wants I guess."
"This is such a shitty plan." Leon groaned, rubbing a hand over his face.
"I don't see you coming up with better."
A blank expression fell over Leon's face, he tugged off the shirt Darian had given him and tossed it at the other while he walked passed. "Can't argue with that." He agreed reluctantly, heading for the front door.
Darian easily caught the shirt, aiming a glare at Leon's bare back even as he followed after him. "Don't go after Jaxon." He reminded in a steady voice.
Leon rolled his eyes but waved a hand dismissively behind him. "Sure, whatever." He drawled lazily, going out and leaving the door unlocked.
Darian had to consciously stop himself from slamming the door shut harder than necessary, he didn't give shits about lots of things but Leon effortlessly pissed him the fuck up by just existing.
"Fucking hell." He muttered on a breath, leaning slightly against the door, how was he supposed to do this without killing himself or fucking Leo?
~*~
Jaxon didn't stop moving till he got to the safety of his apartment, he quickly shut the door and locked it for good measure, that wouldn't keep Leon and Darian away but it gave him some semblance of comfort to know it was locked.
"Fuck." Jaxon cursed, falling against the door and sliding down slowly, his head thrown back against the door.
How had he gotten himself into this mess…
His stomach grumbled. Just great, he was hungry too.
He had to forcefully push away the thoughts tumbling into his mind, thoughts of a firm grip on his waist, his hands against soft, taut skin, two sets of lips on either side of his neck…
He groaned out loud at this, tugging at his hair.
He should be mad about this, not getting heated thoughts which boiled his blood, his skin feeling too tight for him, cheeks flushing.
His stomach grumbled again and he lurched to his feet in irritation, needing to get away from himself.
Firstly, he needed to eat first because…
He groaned again, throwing himself on a sofa. He had really literally fainted…
The thought slammed into him making him feel even more miserable, he had a lot of problems at the moment and Agnes' pumpkin pie would fix most of them but he couldn't even get it because he was terrified of bumping into either of them.
He could always call Ian to help him, Leon's twin was the last person he wanted to see right then but it wasn't like he had a lot of options.
Quickly, before he managed to convince himself otherwise, he sent a text to Ian, unsurprised to get a response immediately.
At least, Ian had agreed to help him without asking too many questions because his request was definitely weird.
Firstly, Jaxon was never in his apartment before sundown and he always ate his meals in the kitchens or the private dining room on the fourth floor.
All he could do now was wait and perhaps Ian was close to the kitchen because in no time he heard a knock on his door, dragging himself from the couch, he went over to open the door.
Ian waited patiently on the other side of the door, scrolling on his phone which was in his left hand, looking up when the door swung open.
His mouth dropped open when he took in Jaxon, he was used to seeing the Head Beta always looking like he just rolled out of bed but this time there was a new addition.
"Jaxie, are those hickies?" He made a vague gesture in the direction of the other's neck.
It came as a huge shock to him because he had grown up with Jaxon and he didn't think he had ever seen him get romantically involved with anyone.
Jaxon's eyes went wide in horror, he reached out to snatch the package from Ian's hand and slammed the door in his face.
That was probably not the best way to handle that but he was currently in shock.
How did his day keep getting worse?
