Darian quickly locked his door before going back in to look for Jaxon, it was evident that he was not himself, was he sleepwalking maybe? Darian didn't think so, Jaxon never sleepwalked.
Immediately, he went straight to his room, not surprised to find Jaxon curled on his bed, it reminded him of earlier that day, when he had brought him to his room.
Darian had to admit, he rather liked Jaxon on his bed. His mom would have an aneurysm hearing him say that.
Carefully, he walked over, stunned at the fact that Jaxon had somehow fallen deeply asleep, although he just literally walked into Darian's bedroom only a few minutes ago.
Darian was stumped, had he just gotten kicked out of his own bed. At a loss for what to do, he stood at the edge of his bed, watching Jaxon sleep in it.
It was to this scenario that Jaxon woke up for whatever reason, screaming hysterically when he caught a glimpse of someone standing over his bed.
The sound startled Darian, the poor Warrior hurrying forward thinking that something was wrong.
Only to nearly get kicked in the face by a flailing Jaxon. "What the fuck are you doing in my room?" He asked, crumbling to the edge of the bed and curling up there, holding the blanket in front of him like some sort of defence.
Darian froze again. unbelievable! He couldn't believe that this was actually happening.
"Are you drunk?" He finally realised what could be going on, a little too late though.
Jaxom wasn't listening to his words however, in his muddied state he could barely comprehend what was being said but he recognised Darian's voice and his brain filled in the words that he did not understand.
"Oh." He sighed in relief, dropping the blanket a little. "I had no idea it was you Darian…" he replied to him, getting comfortable on the bed again but to one side. "Sure you can crash on my bed, extra blankets are in the drawers." He answered a nonexistent question, rolling over and probably falling dead asleep again.
Darian simply gaped, did Jaxon just tell him where to get extra blankets from, in his own apartment? After swiping his own? What was he to do with all this?
"What are you waiting for?" Jaxon jumped out of sleep to say, his words slurred. "Is the space not enough for you?" He asked, concern bleeding through his sleepy voice. "Alright, I'll scooch some for you." He offered, squirming as he moved only the littlest bit.
Darian hesitantly got into the side of the bed provided for him, lying down stiffly.
This was odd, he didn't think he had ever let anyone sleep in his bed.
"You forgot forgot bring blankets." Jaxon roused like the dead from sleep again, scolding lightly. "And sleeping in so little clothes, that's exactly how you catch a cold." He tsked, sharing his blanket.
Darian laid still as Jaxon covered him up with the blanket, staring up into tousled red hair and eyes that seemed more green than hazel in the dark of night.
"There." Jaxon huffed, settling in for the last time.
Darian held his breath and then expelled it, turning his head slightly to the side to see Jaxon sleeping, facing his direction.
He was supposed to somehow sleep in these conditions? With Jaxon only an arm reach away and looking so exquisite even though he was half drunk and confused.
He should probably take him back to his room, now that he seemed well asleep because Jaxon sleeping in his room for the night was definitely going to come back to bite him in the ass.
But he also didn't want to leave the tipsy Head Beta alone, fuck knew where else he would end up at.
There was a twenty percent chance that he would end up in Leon's room, that was horrifying enough, he would rather have Jaxon sleep in his bed while he crashed on the couch.
He would eventually get up to leave but honestly, staring at Jaxon could be a full time job that he would gladly do without pay.
After he had gotten his fill of staring, he made a move to get out of bed and immediately Jaxon rolled across the bed and right into his arms, practicing lying down on him.
Darian gulped, freezing up, this was starting to seem unreal.
It was starting to seem like a really awful wet dream.
How the fuck was he to leave now? He was skeptical about waking him up because he knew exactly how Jaxon's insomnia worked, everyone knew it, if he fell asleep wherever, they just made him comfortable and left him to sleep which was not for very long most times.
But right now, it did not seem like he would be waking up anytime soon.
After his initial shock, the realisation of their positions was starting to sink in, the goddess had to be tempting him.
Because how did he get to this point where all he had to do was wake up from sleep and somehow, Jaxon was in his bed, wrapped around him like he was a body pillow.
Did he mention how warm he was?
It made Darian's hand itch to return the cuddle, to bury his hands deep in his soft, wild hair, to tuck his face in the curve of his shoulder, cheeks against his bare neck.
But he wouldn't because he respected Jaxon's privacy so instead he made himself as comfortable as he could without moving too much and tried his best to fall asleep.
Maybe, just maybe, he would wake up and find Jaxon long gone and find out that none of this even happened and it was just his cruel brain messing with him.
Although the feel of Jaxon pressed against his side was very real so maybe he would be waking up to Jaxon… that sounded like a dream.
It made him want to fall asleep faster, just so that he would wake up to sunshine against Jaxon's hair, if that happened, he would be hard pressed to not touch it.
Hopefully, he wouldn't get another kick in the face this time.
