Chapter 10 - A new friend

Maybe I'm just overthinking things and my dreams really mean nothing at all. I lay in bed as the cold wind is blowing the curtains of my open windows. I can see how the leaves dance with the cold breeze of the dark night.

I'm still alone here, my step-mom and her daughter still haven't gone home yet. I'm afraid of falling asleep, I'm just thinking about what kind of dream I will dream when I already fall asleep, I'm only thinking about it but I could feel my heart and soul is already retreating.

but what can I do? maybe this is what gods or the world wants to happen to me, maybe this is my destiny. Why would I run from this, if this is destined to happen to me forever? What will be the benefit of me running away from it and then just coming back?

I sighed and I put both my hands behind my head and used that as a pillow. "Maybe I should just sleep," I muttered to myself as I close my eyes and tried to brace myself for whatever will happen again in my dreams.

But when I tried to sleep, a thought came up that maybe I should just not write it anymore once I wake up. So that I can forever forget what is happening in my dream and it won't bother me or make me scared but maybe even if I do that I will still remember because I remember the feeling of that dream and moreover I wrote what happened so it would always pop into my mind and remind me of my dreams. No matter what I do I will still remember that.

I closed my eyes and let myself succumb to great darkness.

I was once again in a village, I sighed because I feel like I know what will happen again. I would see a girl and she will tell me things and I will bump into two guys and so on but it was peaceful, there were no loud booms, explosions, fires. Nothing!

I walked out of the alley and took a peek and saw many people, walking merrily and doing their own business. I was nervous but I went out, no one turned to me after I came out it's like they have a world of their own but it's okay,

It's good if they don't pay attention to me because I might create chaos. I remember the woman's reaction when she saw me so I better be careful even if I don't understand what else did I get into.

I took a walk, I saw a store selling fruit, a store of apples, oranges and some other kinds of stuff. They incomprehensible things that they sell but this place looks normal, it's just like our market.

Where am I? Is this the same village that I was in my other dream? is this what the woman specifies as the village of the dead? If it is a village of the dead, why do this village and the people here seem so alive?

I just kept walking, I was ignored by those I passed. I walked until I saw a bench where I could sit. I first look around with my two eyes before I sat there. I put both my hands on my thighs. So far nothing has happened to me or to the people surrounding me.

I just sat there and nothing unusual happened to me. I sighed and stood up. Therefore I could conclude that this is the most normal dream that I dreamed.

I was about to walk when someone suddenly hit my shoulder and it was too strong which resulted in me falling and bumping my butt into the floor, I winced. I looked up and saw a man standing in front of me, I gulped. He just looked at me so I frowned.

I rolled my eyes because he didn't seem to have any plans to help me stand up, I brought myself up and tried to shake off the dust on my clothes.

"Are you okay?" The man asked and I nodded even though my butt hurt because of the fall.

"You should be careful," he said which made my two eyes narrow at him.

"Well then, you should be the one to be careful because you might bump into someone again and not apologize," I said with a hint of sarcasm.

Since this is only a dream, why don't I trash-talk this guy? He totally didn't feel and said sorry for bumping me doesn't he know that it hurts? And he didn't help me stand up! The audacity!

he was slightly surprised by what I said and scoffed, "if you just look straight and see where you're going then probably we won't bump into each other."

"Then that same goes for you," I said and crossed my arms which made his lips part.

And then he chuckled which made me freeze, it sent the hairs on my body to stand up. There was something strange in his chuckle. I don't know but it made me feel strange. His chuckle is as if a million petals are opening in the warm sunlight.

"W-what are you laughing at!?" I said all flustered.

"Am I not allowed to laugh?" He said with a mischievous tone.

"I didn't say that you're not allowed to laugh, I o-only a-asked it!" I could feel my cheeks turning red because of his grin at me.

He walks towards the bench and sat down there and slightly tap the bench as if saying that I should sit with him. I just raised my brow at him and ignored his pretense that I should sit down beside him.

"What brings you here?" He asked which made me raise my brow even more.

"Why do you ask?" I replied.

"It's because this is the first time I've seen you here."

"Do I?"

"You stick out like a sore thumb." He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes at him, "Well then I'm sorry I do stick out like a sore thumb... It's because I'm lost." I sighed.

I approached him and sat next to him but I made sure that I was a little far away from him.

"Why do you say so?" He said with a hint of curiosity.

"Why do you want to know?"

He laughed, "it's because you told me about it and you won't leave me hanging won't you?"

"I don't even know you," I hissed.

"Then why are you talking to me?"

"It's because you talked to me," I said calmly.

"Do not fret, I'm a friend and I meant no harm." He said in a calming voice.

"Well, to tell you... I'm also lost," he gushed which surprised me and sparked my interest.

I don't know but I think he's just like me! Visiting strange dreams. He looked at me which made me gulp. "You look interested," he said with a grin.

"I'm not!" I denied and look away.

"Fine! I will tell you!" I gave up since this is just a dream I don't see any harm in me telling about it and he might be as well as me you why not tell him right?

"I'm lost," I sighed and he nodded. "It may be strange for you but I know that I'm in a dream and I don't know where I am and what's happening to me."

"I've been dreaming a lot of weird strange things and it makes me scared and overwhelmed since I don't know what to do."

I played with my index fingers as I said that and when I finished saying that I didn't hear him speak so I turned to him.

"W-what!?" I was embarrassed while saying it because I saw that he was just looking at me seriously and I felt like I was going to melt.

"You seem to be so affected when I gaze at you." He laughs and reaches his hands to my face and slowly tucks the strands of my hair that is on my face on the back of my ear.

I blushed, "W-what are you d-doing!" I said in a shaky voice while averting my gaze at him.

And he laughed even more, "you look like a pomegranate." He said in an amused tone.

I couldn't say a word because of the embarrassment I felt, I couldn't look at him directly and my heart was beating so fast. He looked at me again and I completely tried to avoid looking at him.

"I'm lost too," he told me. I turned to him when he started talking and listened carefully even though I have not yet recovered from what he did.

"I was about to go to my lair but I heard there is an interesting event that is slowly occurring in here so I wanted to see what is it and to take care of it." He tittered.

"But eventually I was too amused and forgot what I was supposed to do and lost." He continued and I nodded.

Even though I was listening to his story, my heart was still beating so fast because of what he did a while ago. Why did he have to do that!

He stood up and put his hand on his pants so I looked up at him. I was surprised when he suddenly walked away from me so in shock I quickly stood up and called him.

"W-where are you going?" I asked nervously.

He stops walking and look back at me, he was looking at me seriously which made me swallow hard.

"I thought you're also l-lost?" I asked again with still a hint of nervousness in my voice.

Maybe we could help each other but why is he leaving!

"I think I know the way now," he said. "Thank you for accompanying me here," he said and slightly bowed to me.

And after he said that he smiled, a smile that made me feel different emotions. He had gray eyes and pretty long hair as dark as the raven's fur. The way his lips curved while he is looking at me. The way his jaw moves is utterly beautiful and I can see how handsome he is now, it made me feel giddy.

"Do not fret, you will see me again," he said and turned his back on me while waving his hands and walking away leaving me hanging.
