Chereads / Mr CEO, Move On! / Chapter 11 - "Game Invitation"

Chapter 11 - "Game Invitation"

Lai Jiayi saw a golden message box on her phone screen and couldn't help but read it out of curiosity.

'Is it a message about my bill or debt?'

This thought made Lai Jiayi read the message seriously. She expected something serious about the message, but...all she saw was this.

[Do you want to play a game?]

Yes. No.

Lai Jiayi's eyes widened in confusion.

'What's this message? It's asking me whether I want to play a game or not? Ridiculous!'

Lai Jiayi quickly clicked the 'No' option, then the option place switched. The 'no' turned into 'yes,' and the 'yes' became 'no.'

'?? What the heck– ' Lai Jiayi was dumbfounded while the duck cheered.

'Yes, I did it! She accepts the invitation!'

The duck-like thing even shook its butt in excitement, unlike the girl who looked like she was about to kill someone.

God...dammit. What's with this message? Is it a scam?!

Lai Jiayi stared at the phone. She was about to look further to it when she stopped.

'Aish, nevermind. As long as the game doesn't require any money, maybe I can relax for a bit and play?'

The girl mulled over. She was too tired to suspect the game invitation.

'After all, I'm indeed stressed, and playing will ease my mind a lot…'

Lai Jiayi had just thought so when a second after, the message box immediately disappeared into tiny golden dust. It's cute, looking magical.

Someone who liked cute things like Jiayi couldn't help but feel better seeing this.

'Cute…'

The girl then waited for the game to come, but after waiting for several seconds, nothing happened. She didn't see any application being downloaded on her phone or anything.

'Is this a fraud?'

Lai Jiayi frowned, thinking like this and had just about to recheck her phone when a loud voice of her friend distracted her.

"Yiyi!" A young girl wearing a maroon tight space-like suit ran toward Lai Jiayi. A transparent umbrella hovered above her.

Lai Jiayi saw her best friend stopped in front of her and started to breathe heavily. "Liang'er," Lai Jiayi softly called with a smile on her face.

The Liang'er girl lowered her head and touched her stuffy chest, trying to ease her chaotic breath.

When she looked down, the plastic-like hoodie she was wearing somehow fell, revealing her bright red hair.

Such a bold hair color, coupled with the short sharp bob hairstyle, really made the young girl look like someone super tomboy.

Shan Liang then abruptly looked up, staring at Lai Jiayi with her cat-like eyes. Her red, strawberry candy eyes looked at Lai Jiayi with a trace of worry.

"Hey, you're drenched!" Shan Liang glared, scolding Lai Jiayi.

When she glared, the outer part of her pupil softly glowed, giving off strong robotic-like eyes or maybe more like a cat's eyes glowing in the dark?

Who knows. Anyway, it's obvious that she wore eye contact.

The pretty girl even furrowed her eyebrows, making her already scary face turned scarier.

Lai Jiayi couldn't help but shrug, knowing that her naggy friend would definitely scold her again.

With an apologetic smile, she said, "Okay, okay, you are drenched too. How about we go now?"

Lai Jiayi tried to stop her friend from nagging her, and indeed, the tactic worked fast. Shan Liang glanced at the bike with two drenched boxes behind Lai Jiayi and couldn't help but sigh.

"Okay, come on, let's go to my house!" Shan Liang approached the bike and untied the rope before taking one of the boxes.

She didn't say anything else and just glared at Lai Jiayi. The girl then harrumphed angrily and fastened her walking speed as if about to leave Lai Jiayi behind.

Seeing her friend was sulking, Lai Jiayi didn't dare to dilly dally.

She put her phone in the box and quickly took her bike. The girl then ran toward Shan Liang, who somehow still waited for her with the umbrella floating above her head.

"Let's go!" Lai Jiayi giggled happily as she pushed her bike and came under the umbrella.

The two girls slowly left the cafe but unknown to them, Lai Jiayi's phone inside the box suddenly lit up.

A strange shock pink application suddenly downloaded itself on Lai Jiayi's phone. The application glowed in golden light and, a second later, dimmed slowly.

There's a sentence on the application itself, maybe the name of the application.

'Get His Love'

'Okay, the game application is already installed! Good! Time to make a contract with her.'

The duck whistled happily while following Lai Jiayi and Shan Liang.

"Okay, we are here!" Shan Liang shouted happily once they arrived in front of a large internet cafe.

The cafe looked warm, dominated with brown color making Lai Jiayi's heart immediately felt at ease.

There were quite a lot of people sitting on rows of the chair in front of their computers.

Obviously, the internet cafe was still quite popular despite the technology nowadays it was so advanced that people rarely use a computer anymore.

That was old-dated yet still, a lot of people coming from a middle-range family or below used a computer.

They would often visit the internet cafe, like now.

"Your cafe is still as crowded as usual." Lai Jiayi laughed as she watched her friend enter the internet cafe. She also followed behind.

This internet cafe belonged to Shan Liang's father. Shan Liang also lived in this place, so yeah, the girl also lived here.

When Shan Liang heard Lai Jiayi praise her family's business, she snorted slightly. She looked mad, but one could see a slight smile appear on her face.

With a crude yet energetic tone of voice, Shan Liang suddenly spoke, "Let's go upstairs! Dad is waiting."

The girl didn't wait long before ascending the wooden stairs. Every time she stepped ahead, the stairs would creak, giving an old vibe to anyone there.

"Yes, ma'am…" Lai Jiayi solemnly nodded. She had parked her bike, so the girl hurriedly ran after Shan Liang with her box.

As the two people went upstairs, the duck didn't follow them. It just floated to the second floor from outside and waited around the window there.

'I should make a grand entrance when I introduce myself later. Hm, I can do this!'

A few seconds after climbing the stairs, Lai Jiayi's eyesight changed. If before what she saw was rows of a computer with people in front of it, now she only saw quite a vast living room.

The living room had the same interior as the internet cafe downstairs, mainly dominated by brown and wooden design.

There were also a lot of green plants around, making the place look seriously warm and comfortable, but...no one was there.

'Where is uncle Shan? He's not here?'
