"Now, for the rest," Hakai said, raising his eyes and staring at a cluster of low-level spirits that again charged up a massive amount of negative energy into a sphere.
Boof!
Most spirits shot their projectiles at him with speed, almost reaching sub-sonic, but before they could even get lost to him.
Shkeen!
Hakai used his magical eyes to teleport in front of a vile phantom. Sensing Hakai standing in front, the spirit swung its massive tongue at him. Then, inches away, it felt a sudden sharp pain in its throat.
Another spirit, this time above him, swung its arm, shaped like a blade, at him. Laughing, this one spoke! "How about this?" Throwing Hakai into a daze, he looked up and found the sharp point against his pupil.
Slash!
The sharp point of his blade-like arm slashed against Hakai's cheek. Barely managing to dodge the blade, he knew that this fight would yield a different result than the rest. "This one can speak?" He asked himself in a daze while throwing himself back and away from the spirit that landed in his previous spot.
"How can you speak?" He asked the spirit with anger in his voice.
"Evolution!" The spirit replied with confidence. "Now die!" The spirit screamed while charging at him with his weaponized arm. Swinging his arm around wildly, Hakai barely dodged the slashes and stabs. "He's getting closer!" Hakai said to himself while jumping in the air to get away.
"Calamitous shockwave!" Hakai shouted an attack as he stabbed his dagger into the ground facing the spirit.
Boom!
The ground lifted off and rippled towards the spirit.
"That's all you thought of, God?" the spirits taunted Hakai as it got away quickly.
"Just enough space to ask questions, I suppose," Hakai answered as he stood up and shrugged his shoulders.
"Very smart of you!" The spirit furthermore taunted Hakai with a nasty grin.
"Vile being, do you have a name?" Hakai asked the spirit while readjusting his grip.
"Ha, Ha, I do not, but-." He answered while laughing wickedly. "Call me, Shinka!" He shouted while dashing to cover the distance.
Shkeen!
Once again, Hakai used his right eye's visual prowess. Standing in the spirit's previous spot, they now traded positions.
"Those eyes," Shinka uttered as he glared back with intensity radiating out of him. "The legendary Eight Paths." He said while turning around, maintaining the same stare into Hakai's magical eyes. "what a bothersome." He shrugged in annoyance.
"How do you-" Hakai was cut short when Shinka began explaining.
"The Seven Lords know all!" He shouted in excitement. "My lord sent me here to deliver a message." but, first, I wanted to see how strong you were, the legendary God of Destruction." He said with disappointment. "Seems I can't lay a finger on you." He finished off his long rant.
"Who is this Lord you're referring to?" Hakai asked with his forehead furrowed.
"Lord Shinigami, who else?" He said with malice in his stare.
"Shinigami, huh?" Hakai questioned himself as he finally remembered the one who fell. "Oh, that Shinigami!" He said with a stupid expression. "He will regret his decisions, trust me." He said while his silly face quickly changed into a dark, evil stare. "Relay this message to your Gods. I will destroy them all." He said with utter malice spouting out of every pore in his body. "Tell that undersized rat, Hades, he soon will meet his demise," Hakai said while the evil spirit backed up.
"Shit, he's getting angry, not that I can't match him, but Lord's orders were clear!" Shinka said to himself while transmitting a message to the evil spirits surrounding them. "Attack him!" He screamed while he leaped away.
"Lord Hakai, please rest assured, I will deliver your message." He said tauntingly, but also Shinka meant what he said. "This is the only other city we are occupying. So take a rest after." So he told the dazed Hakai, who paid no attention to his escape.
Zinng!
A large number of phantoms channeled negative energy into a single point again.
Boof!
They all simultaneously released their attacks.
Kaboom!
The massive projectiles impacted the ground where Hakai was standing. He seemed injured and low on stamina, allowing only one to strike him. "He's getting away!" Hakai shouted to himself while looking at the fleeing Shinka. "He seemed to control the herd." Hakai assessed the situation. "While we clashed, the spirits remained at bay, as if someone ordered them too, and now that he's making his move, he's ordering them to protect him, smart indeed." Hakai applauded the evolved phantom. "Damn, they're just all doing the same thing!"
Zinng!
The phantoms again charged energy balls.
"Calamitous Shockwave," Hakai shouted as he jumped into the air, landing in the middle of the herd. He stabbed his daggers into the ground, and the unfolding shockwave rippled through the soil. Then, tossing aside, throwing off the balance of the spirits, many fell into their attack and blew pieces of themselves away.
As some managed to get up, they roared angrily and charged Hakai. "Hah, I need to finish this now!" He said to himself as he pulled out his daggers. His breathing became irregular, and his words tangled. "I-I have- t-to finish." He said to himself as he stood up with sheer willpower. Dodging the first spirits attack, he struck his dagger into its side and quickly spoke. "Evil spirit of darkness, created to destroy, vanish." Hakai chanted as a spell circle, and above it, a wheel of divine writing appeared, reducing the phantom to thin air. All while only the spirit injured with his scared weapon diminished. "I have to get them all with a fatal attack." He said to himself while channeling as much energy as possible into his next attack. "Feel the sole of your feet, the earth beneath it. Breath slowly, tighten your grip, and follow your heartbeat."
Ba-dump!
"Gahh!" He screamed while his eyes flashed in anger.
Fzzsh!
He zig-zagged through all the spirits. At least landing a slash was enough for him. "Now!" He shouted while digging his feet into the ground, trying to stop himself at high speed. "Evil spirit of darkness, created to destroy, vanish." Hakai chanted as a spell circle, and above it, a wheel of divine writing appeared, reducing all of the phantoms to thin air.
"Hah-hah." He took deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. "Finally!" He said as he pulled out his daggers and allowed them to vanish into thin air.
Bam!
He fell backward to the ground, laying flat. He took a deep breath and allowed his sense's to feel what was wrong with him. "I am so tired!" He said to himself as he realized how low his stamina was and how far he had pushed himself. Then, as his world darkened, one thought, one name came out of his mouth. "Amaterasu."
