Chapter 45 - Return

Flora was just returning from visiting Yiva in the aviary when she ran into Princess Valeria in one of the window-filled hallways. The princess was dressed in her typical black tunic and loose-fitting pants. She had across her chest a leather harness that connected to an arm guard, that presumably was for more than handling her companion. Upon seeing the princess, Flora even considered jumping out of one of the windows to avoid the royal, but she thought it best not to seem to cowardly. Besides, Flora couldn't have evaded the princess if she tried, since she strode right up to Flora, viscous smile in tow. It took everything in Flora not to turn and run away.
