Chapter 78 - Chapter 2: Listing (Part 1)

I tapped my finger on my table while looking at my laptop monitor. Shit. Wish you were here, brother, I'm stuck. Huff… what should I do next?

I closed the browser, then open my Sublime software. "Where I leave… my work?" This room feels so silent, as if this room isolates from noise.

I took a deep breath, reminiscing about everything we did in this room. All the memory replay the scene when we visiting this company. Accidentally, my tears fell after I'm looking at our picture.

Flashback on

I set up the camera on the tripod. "You ready, brother?" I'm tidying my tie as I looked at the mirror. I'm looking at my back, looked at Kwang In, who wears his vest.

"was that the good idea, Lobak? We can call a professional photographer for this," he said as he buttoned his suit. I know, we can call a famous photographer, but this time, it's not for fixing the board picture. He was wearing a navy blue suit, followed by his oxford shining black.

"I know." I'm taking picture of him.

Kwang In walked towards me, snatched the camera, then took a picture of me.

Flashback off

I closed my eyes and let the tears fall. I wiped my tears as the someone knocked on the door. "Comes in!" I said.

"Lobak, Ms. Salsabila already arrived. Do you want me to send her home?"

I shook my head. "Let her in, please, and… please tell Mr. Lee to come to my office after lunch." Silvia nodding her head, and leave.

Not long after she leaves, Rose comes in to my room with a paper bag in her hand. "Hey, how are you?" I'm embracing her, hide my face over her shoulder. 'm addicted to her scent.

"I'm… not okay, I guess? How about you? How's your client?" We agreed to compromise. The reason behind this, I don't want her to waste her license. She can't stay at her client's house except for a female patient. Well, honestly, she just… frightened with Julia after she… well, you know.

"She's a lonely old lady, nothing much." I pleased her to sit on the couch. She puts the paper bag on the coffee table and took a deep breath. "It's… difficult for both of us in a while because you…"

"I'm not drinking, okay!?" I took a deep breath. "Sarah, Kenzie, and The Triplets losing the key to the wine cellar and now the gate broken, and I'm taking my meds, and go to therapist, but I don't know why I'm still act like an insane person," she sits next to me, rubbed my shoulder.

"I just…" my tears keep falling. "It should be me, not him." She embracing me, and we let our emotion gets out. I'm not contacting her after Kwang In got shot on his stomach.

"I miss you." She said. "I… bring your favorite food. Did you eat well? You look pale." I hold her hand.

I feel my energy drained because I stayed in my office last night. I lay my body, put my head on her tight. "Can you… stay here for a while?" I closed my eyes as she stroked my hair. "It's not my fault, right? Neither of us wants that happened."

Rose hummed. "You should take rest tomorrow. Let his family taking care of him." She said. Rose is right, he still has family. His ex-wife and his son. Kwang In was an orphanage. His parents died in the accident when he was 4. I met him when I went to the China to visit the fanciest Starbucks in the world.

When first I met him, he was a graduated law student looking for a client. That day, China Police arrested me because fighting in the bar. None of the lawyer can help me that day, but he came to me in the middle of the night. Since then, I gave him a job.

We became closer as the time goes by. Yeah, he's my brother. The only family I asked to help. "Why it's spinning?" I'm looking around trying to stand up, but it keeps spinning.

I can hear Rose called my name. I tried to approach my desk, when I almost reached there, I fell. Her voice sounded muffled. "Hey, are you okay!?" I shook my head. I hold her hand and cold sweat poured out from my body. "W-wait here!" I watched Rose get out of the room as my eyes slowly closed.

I blinked my eyes several times as I heard her voice called my name. I can see this room keep spinning. "Hey." I'm looking at my left. "You passed out and we almost can't detect your heart beat. Why…"

"Shhh…." I hold her hand and put her hand on my chest. "I'm sorry, I… forgot to have breakfast today, and last night I haven't eaten yet."

Rose smack my head. "I told you to…" she rolled her eyes. "Don't say… you making a to-do list for our marriage, or you overthinking about that problem again!?"

I shook my head. "Mrs. Julius, he was a fucking annoying client I have, but he paid well." He was one of my dad's friend, but not like that person. Kwang In always deal the transaction for him. Since he wasn't there at the time, I have no choice. He literally a Kevin.

He always complain if it's not fit as him request, until he agrees. Rose scratching her hair and took a deep breath. then exhale. "I told you to… right, Kwang In still in a coma." She said.

Rose holds my hand tight and stared at me. "You should go home early, taking rest, and don't overwork." She knows the best. I'm nodding my head as looking into her eyes. She wrinkle her eyebrow.

I should change the topic. "What if… we taking care of our marriage together, since we want to get married and… w-we don't…" Sarah comes in and interrupts our conversation.

She hasn't change. Even now, she never knocking the door first. She not a boss, right? Also it's not her hospital. "Good evening Mrs. Gabriela." I rolled her eyes. "Since you already awake. I'm suggesting to stay for… 3 days. I'm concern because we almost can't detect your heartbeat."

I'm nodding my head, looking at my side. I hold her hand, then smiled. I want to make sure she knows I'll be fine. "Okay, my job is done," she strolled her way to the door.

"Let's do it!" I furrowed my brow. "Besides, we have different tradition, right?" I'm nodding my head. Yeah, I guess, I should start to compromise.
