Chapter 19 - LGfM 19 Old phone

Since the 21st century, the development of mobile phones has increased rapidly. The technology that develops significantly without any restrictions is what makes the world cold war.

The cold war turned into an open war in cyberspace until it continued into the fourth world war. This led the secretary of the World Security Council to enact laws restricting technology for the market economy in general. However, this does not apply to the superpowers, who hold the supreme power of the World Security Council.

"Because of this imbalance of power, the fifth world war against these superpowers finally erupted. Until finally there was a mutual agreement between minority countries and majority countries to use technology and its inventions only for the benefit of world peace." Petra said in a discussion on New World History lessons.

"And ... that thought was the forerunner to the formation of the Sovereign State of Mestonia or the NKM for short. Where the ancestors of the original inhabitants of Mestonia were elected immigrants from all over the world under the supervision of the World Security Council," added Stev, who sat behind Petra.

"Fine. That's all for today. Next week your research on the history of Mestonia is being put online." closed the New World History teacher with heavy glasses, leaving the hall to cheers of protest throughout the room. Classes that end with paper assignments always make almost all high school students in Mestonia moan sadly.

New World History class is compulsory for all grade levels at Metropol High School.

Therefore, there is no distinction between first grade and second grade. All classes blend into one room. Only the third graders are not required to take the New World History class anymore because the preparation for the Final Examination takes precedence. Because the Final Examination is already counting the days.

"The good thing is ... for scholarship recipients of course it is easy to do this tedious task." said a student from the back seat. A sound loud enough to reach Petra's ears.

To Petra, the buzzing sound was familiar to him. Jealous taunts often hit, but Petra couldn't do anything about it. Because it's true. All the rumors are facts. Only the words hurt her too much when they reached Petra's ears.

"And, are you going to keep silent being ridiculed like that?" said Stev, still sitting on the bench behind Petra.

The hall was already quiet. The students leave for their lunch break. Meanwhile, Petra, of course, brought supplies, preferring to be alone in doing his chores and eating at the same time.

Not because Petra has no friends in his class, but today Petra chose to be alone. Petra was too tired lately. To be kidding, Petra couldn't.

"It's a fact, after all, what their right to say," Petra said halfheartedly. It was uncomfortable because it turned out that Steven was still following her.

"Sure, that's true. Just ... don't you think they're trying to bully you?" argued Stev, still not wanting to stop teasing Petra.

"I know. But don't expect me to ask you a favor," said Petra, who was now chewing his lunch. Talking to Steven makes Petra hungry.

"I wanted to tell you about Ken's news, though ..." said Stev grimacing. Steven doesn't like Petra. For Steven, the present Petra is Ken's old little Petra. Only his body grew taller. Besides, Steven already has a girlfriend.

"Ken, just the past. Besides ... if he cared it would be better if he met me in person. Not just through you." Petra argued expressionlessly. More precisely tired.

Petra's energy and emotions have been drained because of his deal with Lyon. Therefore, Petra prefers to hold back when faced with Steven who is now very excited to tease him.

Steven always can't stay still. Steven always couldn't help himself when it came to Petra and Ken. For Steven, teasing Petra is very fun, like a separate entertainment for Steven in the midst of being bored with the many lessons he spent at Metropol High School.

"Hahahaha ... what a shame. Ken won't be able to see you at this time. Forever." Steven laughed softly and lowered his voice so that Petra couldn't hear her last word.

"I didn't hope either." Petra screeched without suspicion of what Steven had to say to him.

For Petra, whatever Steven said was just nonsense. From the past until now Steven has been playing around, never serious and full of silliness.

"Hopefully you won't regret it someday," Steven whispered and left Petra out of the hall.

Now, the great room was completely deserted. There's only Petra alone now. And Petra was too busy to realize it.

Time passed so fast that finally, the bell rang three times. Petra hurriedly packed up and ran towards the next class. Mathematics. The class most avoided by the Social class students.

In the Mathematics class, all Metropol High School students are combined into one, be it the Science class or the Social class. It was too late for Petra to realize that he would meet Lyon again in Maths class. And it is too late for Petra to be able to choose the seat furthest from Lyon's reach. Very, very late. The only empty seats left are next to Lyon.

Realizing that Petra who was sitting in the chair next to Lyon was grinning slyly, a smile that the girls mistook for a deadly, dazzling smile. Petra wanted to throw up when he heard the girls always talking about Lyon's sweet smile.

"Poor girls ... they just don't know who he is." sighed Petra, speaking to himself.

"I felt that you were being sarcastic." clicked Lyon, apparently able to hear what Petra was saying.

"Thank God. That means your ears are still functioning. Speaking of what I just said is a fact." defend Petra not wanting to lose. Giving in is not Petra's life motto when facing Lyon, an angel-faced loan shark.

"Since you were talking about facts, it's good that you should always remember that our status at school is a boyfriend. So please watch over your behavior. Respect your boyfriend a little." quipped Lyon also did not want to budge.

"Yes, I know. But, somehow no matter how hard I try, I still can't." babbled Petra irritably. Holding his book on the table was hard enough, causing several other students to turn their heads in the direction they were sitting.

"Wow ... you are very good at attracting attention, huh. Well, as a gift I will give this," said Lyon, pulling out a new cell phone. Put the flat black object on top of Petra's notebook.

"What is this? Are you trying to bribe me or seduce me?" cried Petra softly.

"Both," Lyon replied, grinning with satisfaction.

"Sorry, I had to refuse. I don't need it." Petra flatly refused.

Before Petra could return the cellphone that Lyon had given him, the young man had already taken Petra's cellphone which was not far from his reach. Petra's cell phone is next to the pencil holder, next to the notebook.

"Sorry, I also refused. Because now I take your old cell phone as collateral," whispered Lyon with a sweet smile that Petra saw only this time.

A smile that only Lyon himself knew what it meant.
