Leading the charge forward, Sydra flies directly towards the beast, who stares at the incoming people with blazing eyes. Flying directly behind Sydra, Cidre shudders at the look in the beast's eyes.
"This isn't going to be easy is it?" Cidre asks, "Do we really have enough people to pull this off?"
Eight people had chosen to go with the two of them, and only seven of those people were flying with abilities meant for flying. The other people were using their abilities to propel themselves through the air.
"I'm not sure, but we have to do what we can with them," Sydra says, turning around to take note of the people's powers, and how he can use them in the battle. The seven people who had different types of wings were carrying weapons in their hands and were more used to ariel battles than the others, so Sydra planned on using them to attack. On the other hand, the people who were using their abilities to propel themselves were going to be used as decoys, and if they had the chance, they could fire off an attack here and there.
"Here comes an attack!" Someone yells, noticing that the beast was raising its scepter into the air behind its back. Tensing its muscles, the beast swings the scepter in an arc, firing off smalls spheres of red mist in the direction of the fliers. With the balls coming from all directions, the fliers scramble in the air to get out of the way.
Barely dodging one of the spheres, Sydra notices that the beast is pulling back its arm for another attack. 'Luckily these attacks are slow, otherwise, we would already be dead,' Sydra thinks, watching the beast closely for the next attack.
As the beast prepares to swing its arm forward, the people on the ground begin their attack. Leading the ground attack, Lorey slams her hands into the sandstone ground below her, manipulating large spikes to shoot out of the ground and attack the beast's feet, which are as big as several tents. The spikes pierce through the feet, causing the beast to stumble backward, and send its next attack in the opposite direction of the fliers.
Not waiting for the beast to regain its footing, the other people on the ground begin to fire off attacks at the beast's feet and legs, but the attacks only cause light damage to the beast's armor.
"It's not enough, only Lorey's attack managed to pierce through the armor!" Robert yells, building up a large fireball between his hands, before firing it off at the beast's knee. As the revolving sphere of intense flames slams into the armor protecting the knee, several parts of the armor melt away, showing the dark knee behind it.
Taking the initiative to attack one of the possible anchors keeping the beast here while it was still off-balance, Sydra powers up his lightning aura and creates a long spear of Ashgold lightning in his hand. Stopping midair in front of the beast, Sydra launches the spear through the air and in the direction of the blue pearl on the beast's chest plate.
Catching its balance, the beast sees the Ashgold spear piercing through the air towards its chest. Slamming its foot into the ground, the beast braces itself while swinging its scepter through the air to protect its chest. As the Ashgold spear slams into the scepter, the beast is pushed backward by the force created. Grunting, the beast glances down at its scepter, only to see a large chunk of it missing.
"That attack managed to bring the scepter close to a breaking point!" Sydra tells the others, "Focus your attacks on the scepter for now, and try to break it all the way,"
Nodding their heads, the fliers begin to zip through the air towards the beast, firing off attacks along the way. Staying in his position, Sydra begins to form another lightning spear while Cidre notches arrows in his bow. Aiming the arrows towards the beast's face, Cidre releases the string, sending the arrows whistling through the air.
Raising its arm in front of its face, the beast knocks the arrows out of the way before swinging the scepter towards several of the fliers that are closer. From the tip of the scepter fire three large red spheres that begin to revolve around the beast, limiting the room the fliers have.
With the three spheres protecting it from people getting too close, the beast turns its attention to one of the fliers that has the ability to create green balls of acid. The acid balls have the ability to melt through the beast's armor, which allows other people to attack the beast's skin directly. Raising the scepter into the air, the beast cleaves it down towards the flier, who barely dodges out of the way.
Back on the ground, Robert has another massive fireball spinning between his palms. About to release it towards the beast, Robert is forced to change its direction at the last moment to propel him out of the way of the falling scepter. The last-minute change in direction causes Robert to lose his concentration on the fireball, causing it to detonate earlier than he planned.
"Urgh," Robert moans as he picks himself up from the ground and looks around, his head still ringing from the explosion. Bending over, Robert picks up his war hammer and places it back on his back while turning to face the beast. The people on the ground around him are rushing about, firing off their attacks towards the beast's knee.
"Are you okay?" Lorey asks, running over to check on Robert, "I saw you get flung through the air from that explosion,"
'Yeah, I just need a few more minutes to create another fireball," Robert says, squatting back down and creating a small spark of flames between his hands. Focusing on directing all his fire aura to his plans, Robert increases the size of the spark until a large ball of fire is spinning between them. Condensing the fireball until it is half the size as before, Robert looks towards the missing armor on the beast's knee.
'I just need one good attack to bring that beast down,' Robert thinks to himself as he pulls back his arm, with the fireball spinning over his hand. Throwing it with all his might, the fireball shoots through the air towards the knee faster than most people can see.
'Boom' A loud explosion rings throughout the battlefield as the fireball explodes against the knee, demolishing it in the process. Losing one of its knees, the beast falls backward to the ground, creating a large crater from the impact.
Using this time to attack, all the fliers focus their attacks on the beast's scepter, shattering it into pieces. Tossing the broken pieces of the scepter off to the side, the beast digs its claws into the ground to get back up. With only one leg, the beast is forced to stay in a kneeling position, but it is still much taller than the people on the ground. Sweeping its hand across the ground, the beast slams two people away, killing them upon impact.
"We need to do something about its hands!" Sydra says, turning to look at Cidre. "Do you think you could keep its focus on you while I attack its pearl?"
Putting his bow on his back, Cidre pulls out the blue-edged sword and crosses it over his chest. "Leave it to me, I make sure you have a chance to get to the pearl,"
Pointing the sword at the hand that the beast is using to balance itself, Cidre drops out of the sky with incredible speed. Right before he is about to slam into the ground, Cidre spreads his wings as wide as he can and slices the sword through the beast's wrist. With the loss of the wrist, the beast's hand can no longer support the beast, and it topples over to its side.
With the pearl in clear view, Sydra creates another Ashgold spear, but this time he adds his fire aura to the tip. With the blade of the spear enhanced by the fire, Sydra flings the spear through the air, directly towards the blue pearl.
Noticing the spear hurtling through the air towards its chest, the beast raises its hand in front of it, trying to keep the spear from hitting the pearl. As the spear makes contact with the beast's palm, the fire on the tip begins to burn through it. With the fire being so hot, the spear pierces through the hand and continues to slam into the pearl on the other side.
Dropping its hand to the ground, the beast looks down at the cracks forming on the pearl before looking back at Sydra. "It would do you well to remember the name of Lord Ashel, for I will be waiting for you on the other side. Get as strong as you can in the time you have because when we meet I won't be restrained by these bonds," Lord Ashel says as his body fades away, and the broken pieces of the pearl fall to the ground.
