Chapter 5 - 5.

Kora POV

After Vee and I's little argument I huffed and went to my first class, which was business.

At least seeing Jason might cheer me up.

When I enter I find Griffin sitting in the back corner, with one leg over the table and her back against the wall at least she doesn't notice that I'm here yet.

Then Aria waves her hand and pats the seat next to her, which is right in front of and empty desk.

She's just cool with me being here.

A few minutes later, the rest of the classroom filled with the rest of the students which isn't alot by the way.

It seems to be a small class, anyway I make my way over to said chair and plop myself down.

I then noticed Theo, our weapons guy walk in with Jason not so far behind. They're coming in our direction so I think they sit close by.

I internally smile, but I keep my cool.

Jason POV

-earlier-

Theo just texted me saying he needs help with his locker.

So I quickly left the class.

It took about 10 minutes to get his locker unjammed cause of something blocking it. I don't even want to know.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I invited Lee's group to the pool party Saturday. You're cool with it right?"

"Yeah it's no problem. The more the merrier I guess." and with that being said we head to class before Ms has our heads.

Griffin POV

I place my stuff down so I can ask Aria if the teacher's here yet but what I get is Kora walking towards the empty chair in front of me.

What is she doing in this class? The door opens so I guess that answers my question.

"Umm what are you doing here?" I ask

"I'm in business now." She respomds

"Well no shit sherlock I thought this was English." I respond sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

She does the same.

"So why don't you really tell me what you're doing here?" my question gets answered when Jason and Theo enter. "You're here because of him aren't you?"

"No, I was failing science, so I had to take a new subject and I was not about to take social studies." Kora says and takes a seat.

"Atleast now I've got a better eye in you. Whatever reason you're here for, so will I." she tells me.

"Hey Kora, Griff." Jason greets.

I nod my head at him.

Kora POV

So she sits next to him. It's fine, everything's fine. I'm fine, it's just a chair and that means that he's still close to me.

"Hey Kora, Griff." he greets.

Griffin just nods her head.

"Hey, J, can I call you J?" I ask hoping he agrees.

I hear Griffin scoff and I send daggers her way. She just rolls her eyes and continues listening to music.

"Uhm sure it's fine."

Fine? What's that supposed to mean?

I ignore it and try make conversation, at first it's a bit rocky but then he starts getting into it and we ended talking for quite some time.

That was until the teacher burst in panting.

"Sorry I'm late class, I overslept and to be honest with you I'm still tired." she says with a sigh and sets her stuff on the table.

"Can we have a free period instead?" Linda asks.

"Ehh why not, just don't make a noise. And no walking around Linda."

"Ma'am, why are you attacking me?" Linda asks playfully.

Griffin gets up and asks to leave the class. I take this as my opportunity, and take her seat for the mean time.

Aria like most people went to sleep.

Jason POV

"Griff's not gonna like that. That's her chair, I remember someone else tried it so she put a sticker with the word 'G' on the back." I tell Kora.

"Well I'm not someone, I'm one of her close friends."

"Okay but I did warn you."

She shrugs and tries picking up the conversation.

We talked for about 15 minutes before Griff came back.

Griffin POV

When I make it to the classroom, I find her sitting in my chair.

I go over to my desk and stare her down.

"Please move, I'd like to sit." I tell her.

"Jason and I are still talking."

"I didn't ask what you were doing or who you were talking with, get off." I tell her.

I know what's she trying to do and it's not going to work. Poor guy looks uncomfortable.

-ring-

"There goes the bell, I'll see you guys later." Jason says as he quickly gets his stuff and scurries out the door along with the rest of the class.

"Look at what you did. We were talking and you came and ruined it!" she yells at me.

"Uhm you better watch your tone. I asked you to move and you didn't so I acted accordingly. Plus it's not like he was having the best time ever." I tell her.

"What's that supposed to mean?" asks getting dangerously close.

"You know exactly what it means." I say eyeing her.

"Let me ask you, what is your problem? You've been bitch ever since the meeting." she asks me.

"I have been a bitch, a bad one but that's not the point. Also my problem is oh I don't know maybe how we almost died because you didn't tell us bad blood was coming. Or maybe the fact that you were busy with one of them-" I start but she cuts me off.

"Like you're any different, we're basically the same remember what happened with Layla?" she asks me.

"Atleast I didn't know she was apart of it and when I found out, you wanna know what I did? Ghosted her, because I knew she'd bring us trouble. That is the difference between you and I." I finish off, leaving the classroom.

-time skip-

After the last period we all met up at HQ cause Boss finally found Kora's partner.

"Sit." he tells us and we oblige.

"I found her partner, Agent Rocky come in."

And who comes in. Taryn.

"Taryn?" Karter asks.

"Hey guys."

"Since when did you become an assassin? And why didn't you tell us?" Kora asked.

"I actually didn't know you guys where my new team and you obviously don't go around telling people that you're a trained deadly assassin." she said matter of factly.

I chuckle with my eyes closed and raise my class to her.

"She's got a point there." I say then chug my water.
