I couldn't sleep after what Cain had told me. He wanted to know. He wanted to know to lessen the burden on his Father. It was such a selfless act. I tossed and turned in my bed, unable to let myself stop thinking.
The biting feeling of Cain and Mina's deaths continued to loom over me as did Kalypso. It felt as though I was hiding knowledge from them. But, what was I to say?
I wasn't even sure. I didn't even trust myself at this point. I needed to first decide if I would be adopted by them. I could feel my heart slowly being pried open. It felt easier to laugh, smile, and the hollowness that sat in my chest was being filled.
