Chapter 20 - The painful apology

Skuld pulled away with tears in her eyes. Now she understands what he meant, and why he laughed. Why Fyn acted the way he has through her life. She was a ticking time bomb.. she was the monster that killed her own parents. "Sisar, I understand it's your choice if you stay or go. You're stubborn like Eka, but there is one more thing you need to know before you decide," Ali gently said as she trailed off lost in thoughts. Skuld kept her head down as she waited for her sister to continue, wondering if it could be any worse than finding out this truth. "There is a rumar to be said that there will be a child born into a pack, that has the ability to change forms and have godly powers..." she started then paused again. "This child will bring painful chaos into this world that can overrule the greater good. There is another version where this child can bring beauty and joy into this world." Ali sighed for a moment. "The choice is yours to make, but once you make it there is no coming back from it. I don't have all the answers you seek but listen to me carefully when I say you can't always trust him." she cried out. Skuld sat there taking in all the information. How could she be so blind to all of this, she looked back up towards the building her mate was in because of something she did. "Let's go check on him, I know you are worried." Ali rose up and offered a hand out. Skuld nodded and accepted her hand and then went towards the building.

Inside the building was cozy, considering this is where the injured came. The staff pointed them towards Kevin's room, as they walked in Kevin was still asleep covered with red bandages. Skuld's heart dropped as she watched Kevin fighting for air, she moved closer to him and rest her head on his chest while holding his hand. "I'm so sorry... please be okay" she whimpered as tears started to fall. "I already told you I'm not leaving you princess" Kevin whispered. his voice was broken and weak. Skuld jolted up as his voice reached her ears. tears of joy came flooding out as she pulled him closer a sense of relief came over her like a comfy blanket.

Kevin wasn't conscious for long he fell asleep shortly after the words came out of his mouth, but it was enough to ease her stress. As she watched him sleep still holding on to his hands she got lost in thought from the memories that now rushed through her head like a bad movie. She was so lost in thought she didn't even notice the nurses that came in to change his bandages until one of them accidentally bumped into her. When she snapped back to the room she could see the damage she had done, if she didn't snap out of the trance she was in from his yelp she would have bit his head off. Skuld looked away trying not to think of it and saw Fyn standing in the door way. She studied his eyes as she wondered how long he had been standing there.

"Now that you know the truth you probably hate me more" Fyn spoke trying to find humour to soften the energy in the room. Skuld looked down and shook her head. What was she to say? How could he sit there and still love her, try to protect her when everything was her fault. An image of Aides rushed through her thoughts, no it wasn't just her. He helped make this monster but could she really blame him? She was the real monster in the end. Everything happened in her hands.

She jumped as Fyn's hand landed on her shoulder. "Don't act like you don't blame me Fyn..." Skuld said in a weak voice. "I know it's all my fault. For all the pain that has been caused." She trailed off as she looked at Kevin that was Still unconscious. "I don't blame you for something you didn't know would happen." Fyn replied with a sigh as his grip tightened. "Honestly I should have had Ali reverse that magic long ago" Fyn sat down next to her forcing her to look him in the eyes. "Everything I've ever done was to protect you not hurt you, but it seems I have done the opposite" his eyes were filled with truth and pain. "I know.. I'm just too stubborn to listen" skuld replied trying to gather a smile on her face that quickly fell off as Kevin moved. She watched him carefully to make sure he was okay. Not that there was anything she could do for him now. "I have the best people taking care of him" Fyn perked up as he snapped his fingers. a group of people came in to check on Kevin. Skuld rolled her eyes, of course he did but she was thankful for that.
