Saturday Evening
LAKE STREET
The gloomy, awful atmosphere surrounding a beautiful building showed Kro that she followed the right address and was now in front of Karina's parents' house. Loads of cars parked outside, and if she was late for about 10 minutes, she would've missed a parking spot.
Attending funerals was something she was never going to get used to. Firstly, she always envied the person who had died; she wished for it to be her laying in the casket. Moreover, death news made her feel lonelier than how she had felt all her life, it was always a piercing on a fresh wound. If she had to choose, then she wouldn't even step inside that house to see all the long faces. But she was Karina's boss, and she had to say her proper farewell. Also, because she needed to find out who the real boss is.
She had her hair tied in a French twist. Her make up was simple, same were the jewels she chose. And as per custom of all funerals, she wore a long-sleeved black dress.
