"Hello…I believe that we need to hire you as a guide." Adrian stated in a precarious tone while standing upright.
The female attendant immediately exploded in killing intent because of Adrian's statement but that was it. She just flared up her killing intent, but she did not make a move because she cannot. The mistress of the inn has explicitly told her to not harm the guests and the rude person is a guest.
Adrian just stared at the female attendant and she finally noticed. The person in front of her could actually see her true appearance. Even exorcists could not easily see through her disguise unless they have what is called the Spiritual Eye or is much more powerful than her.
"Ara…Ara…It has been a long time since we were hired for guiding services." A voice coming behind the paper door stated which made the female attendant tense up.
"Mistress! You need not concern with these fools." The female attendant stated but her mistress showed herself to Adrian and Dustan.
Adrian and Dustan saw the mistress, or the owner of the inn and their jaw dropped. She is drop dead gorgeous like a goddess descended. She wore a fashionable kimono that accentuated her body and her allure. Adrian even gasped because the mistress has nine tails.
"I already expected that the owner of this in is an old fox but for it to be a nine tailed fox. I do not know if we are lucky or fated to die." Adrian thought to himself as he saw the nine large tails behind the owner of the inn.
"Good afternoon customers, my name is Kumi. I am the owned of the inn and is also something more like you could see." Kumi stated as she opened her eyes to peer into Adrian's soul.
When foxes attain nine tails and ascend to divinity, they can see the nature of the souls of man. She has basically become an earth deity at this point as her hair is also platinum white in color. Adrian could only describe her as a rare type of earth deity because white means pure.
"Finally, someone we can talk to. Show her the photo of the gate." Adrian stated and Dustan agreed despite not liking the commanding tone that Adrian used.
Kumi saw the Torii gate that they are talking about and even she had an uncertain look on her face. Adrian did not miss her reaction, but she only looked slightly anxious.
"Will there be a problem escorting us to the other side?" Adrian asked as he knew that foxes possess a special power.
The foxes could traverse any special location sealed off from the real world because of their special abilities. This is the reason why they became famous special messengers of the eastern gods. The foxes have something called the fox marble that makes them immune to illusions.
"It is not that the area you want to go is difficult but the resident there is rather difficult. Dear guests, do you even know who is the one living in that area?" Kumi asked the two because only a hadful wants to go to that area.
"Are you not welcomed by the individual living in that location?" Adrian asked as the last thing they need to do is fight. He does not have perfect control of his powers and might injure those around him in the process.
"The one living there is not really welcoming. He calls himself the Great Seer, but I know his true identity that he tends to keep hidden. The one on the other side of the gate is one of the Kings of Hell." Kumi replied.
Dustan is genuinely shocked upon hearing the information. Even Adrian is a bit shocked because he knew that the kings of hell are rather busy and had no time to dawdle. They are busy managing the influx of souls entering their realms.
"You mean the one behind the door is the devil?!" Dustan asked in a loud voice as his beliefs are starting to get challenged. He always believed that supernatural beings do not exist because for him, "To see is to believe". He lived his life using this saying as soon as he awakened.
"Oh! I believe that you have it wrong because there are different versions of hell. The one you are referring to is the true hell ruled by the Lucifer himself. The one on the other side of the gate is Enma-o. Although, that hell is even feared by the other kings of hell due to the numerous demons residing in it." Kumi answered.
"Although, I am not ruling hell anymore. It is a great idea of me to separate the enormous realm of hell into different parts. It became boring to precede the judgement of each being since even purgatory is under my jurisdiction back then." Adrian thought as he just smiled and nodded his head as if taking all the information in.
"Are you not freaking out right now?" Dustan asked Adrian as this is a ruler of hell after all.
"I am surprised as well because even I did not expect that Joe will send us to ask a King of Hell directly." Adrian replied.
"Are you not afraid that we might anger that ruler and get sent to hell?" Dustan asked.
"Relax. Only spirits of the dead could enter the afterlife. Mortals could enter but a special way must be used for that to happen. Different rules for different hells." Adrian replied unconsciously to which the people in his surrounding is astounded.
"How do you know that information, dear guest?" Kumi asked as she is shocked upon hearing Adrian's statement. She could not peer into this person's soul unlike his other companion.
"Uhmm…I just guessed based on the numerous video games that I played where there is a hell aspect." Adrian replied but his excuse is not that sound.
Kumi decided not to pursue any further and asked once again if they really wat to be escorted to the other side of the gate.
"Yes."
"No"
Adrian and Dustan answered differently as the latter is not that confident meeting a ruler of hell. Even Kumi is on the fence of escorting them because mortals faint when facing the rulers of hell.
"It seems that our esteemed guests have yet to have a conclusion. Please come find me when both of you reach the same conclusion." Kumi stated as she bowed and returned to her office. Dustan and Adrian returned to their room to discuss the matter at hand while they told Whiz to call for Joe.
