"An An... don't cry," Li Ze's voice was hoarse.
He looked down on her and smiled. There was not a trace of uncertainty in his eyes. Instead, he appeared more determined than ever.
Pei An's eyes watered and she failed to contain her sadness. She wanted Li Ze to take her away from this godforsaken place but she didn't want him to pay with his blood just to fulfill her wishes.
She shook her head and flailed to be let down, however, Li Ze refused to let her. He put his forehead onto hers, tapping it gently as if sending warm signal.
With a chuckle, he said, "An An... I'm sorry for everything that you have to go through,"
"What are you saying...?" Pei An wandered her eyes to look into his, searching for any valid reason for him to say something like this so suddenly.
His eyes were a black color, dark and deep. He showed nothing in those beautiful pupils but there was a hint of tenderness in them.
