Baron did not think that he would play again in the human world and meet an interesting girl. He passed in front of Victoria's house. The woman who was now lying on her bed had seen him.
He was sure that this woman indeed widened her eyes and saw Baron's form. He was interested in that woman.
Majer is having fun chasing stray cats on the main road. Baron won't bother her. He better sneaks into this mysterious woman's room and stalks her.
The room is a bit messy, but it seems comfortable enough. Baron looks at some of the photos which are displayed on the wall. There is a photo of the woman with an older man; it seems like it is her father. Baron could see the similarities between them.
Then there is the photo of the woman with her mother; she is wearing a beautiful black dress. It looks like there is a party in the picture. And many other photos.
Baron was amazed to see the photos. In his world, there is no such photo. The Chimp Animagus usually draws on a unique canvas made of Maronay's wood grain. They added the ink with magic dust created from meteors that fell near the Emporion Sea, resulting in a moving image.
He never painted by the Chimp Animagus. Maybe once in a while, he should try it.
Baron keeps himself from making much noise. He already checked into the next room, and the woman's mother was asleep. Baron sat behind the desk and looking around. There are many books scattered there. He picked up one of the books with a cover of a cute duck decorated with stars.
"This is so adorable."
Baron rarely saw ducks. The Emporion Land only consists of animagus in the form of wild animals. There are no animagus in the form of farm animals and pets, except for Baron. He can turn into any animal, but only land animals.
That is why there are some animagus who breed and raise cattle, chickens, and sheep. Baron usually got in touch with them because he was in charge of supporting the food needs at the palace.
Slowly, Baron opened the duck book and read it.
"This book belongs to Victoria Evans."
So, the woman's name is Victoria. He turned to the next page.
"Dear, Diary. Today is the new year. I finished partying with my high school friends. Britanny and Justin got drunk, then they slept together. I don't want to see them. Carol said I was lucky I never confessed my love for Justin, he was a jerk. "
Baron thought, who is Justin? Baron flipped through the following pages. The book contains Victorian handwriting. Then there is a photo of Victoria cuddling with an older man. The man's face is not clear because his position is laughing while looking up his face. Maybe he's the same older man in the picture of the wall.
At the bottom of the photo, there was the caption, "I can't believe Dad is dead. I always hoped that Dad was safe and all these nightmares would pass."
Victoria put the date on it. That was four years ago.
Suddenly Baron feels a movement next to him. Victoria wakes up; she looks at him in surprise. Baron put the book on the table. The woman is turning on the light on the nightstand when Baron turns into a little spider.
He hides under the table, which was unnecessary. Victoria will not realize that he is still in her room in a different form. He gets out of the bed and looks out at the window.
"Oh no," muttered Victoria as she closed the window.
She looks at her face in the mirror against the wall, and then she goes to the toilet. Baron is curious to follow her. What if Victoria sees him again? Baron reminded himself that he is just a little spider now.
He climbs the chair with his eight legs. When he gets to the chair, he turns into a human again. Baron keeps the duck diary back to its original place.
It looks like Victoria has finished her toilet business. Baron returned to being a spider quickly.
"Who is there?!" exclaimed Victoria.
Baron almost gets a catch. He creeps down from the chair. It seems like Victoria sees him, and she is screaming in a loud voice. She picks up the book on the table and slaps him towards the chair, and it almost hits Baron's head.
Baron cursed silently. How could the human world be that cruel? He jumped on the table.
Victoria is pounding the table while still screaming hysterically now.
He manages to jump up to the window and slip out through the narrow opening. He spits out the liquid from his mouth and forms a rope to descends slowly towards the ground.
Baron looks up. Victoria is roughly opening her bedroom window and looking out over the garden. Baron is a hundred percent sure that Victoria can't find him now. It was impossible to her to follow down and chase him to death, right?
Baron sighs when Victoria closes the window. Now the room lights are bright. There is a shadow of her mother standing next to her.
Baron changes his form to a rat by a slow 'pop.' He runs through the garden and out through the small hole near the wooden fence. He changes again into a dog and runs fast to sees Majer.
His heart is beating fast; he is afraid. Not a single human in this world can see the Animagus. There is something different about Victoria. The way she looked at Baron was intense. The woman can see him.
He ran through the estate and turned left when he comes to the main road. He can see Majer sitting on a seesaw, stroking a cat's head. Majer doesn't look as tense as when she first arrived in the human world.
The black cat is just an ordinary street cat. Usually, animals can see and feel the Animagus, especially cats.
The street seems to be lit by street lights. It is late at night. Sometimes, there is the sound of a car passing in the distance. Baron crosses the road and comes to Majer; then, he turns into a human. He walks casually.
"Why are you gone so long?" asked Majer; she is not turning to look at the cat.
"Something happened," began Baron. Majer looked up. "The woman can see me."
"Which woman?"
"The woman I went to her house earlier. She can see me."
"Impossible. There are no humans who can see us, except in the form of an animal. Hmmm… actually, even in animal forms we cannot be seen by humans."
"She was surprised when I sat in her room. I turned into a spider, then she screamed in terror and nearly hit me with a book. I ran away from there as fast as I could."
Majer was amazed and laughed loudly and made the black cat leave from there.
"Laugh to your heart's content!" Baron scowled with anger as he crossed his arms across his chest. "It's not funny at all."
"I imagine the time when your face was slapped by the book. It must be funny." Majer laughed while holding her stomach.
Baron snorted in annoyance. "We have to ask Kumar. This is not something simple."
Majer stopped laughing. "If that woman can see you, then she can see me too."
"You're right."
