Chapter 2 - [Ciel/Miki - 2] What Now?

"Sorry but why exactly are you doing this?" Ceil asked his new girlfriend, Miki, as to why she was practically latching on to his arm.

There were only about five minutes left of lunch left and he had barely gotten any eating done. She was quite the needy one, wanting to be kissed on the cheeks every 20 seconds or so. He lost count of how many times he's kissed her already.

"Can I eat now?" he asked.

She pondered the question for a second, all the while still firmly gripping his arm, "Only if you feed me."

(Great, now I have to share too?) he thought as he pulled off a chunk of the bread he bought. As she slowly opened her mouth, Ciel steadily put the piece of bread up to her mouth. After a few seconds of chewing, she made a face full of happiness.

He raised an eyebrow in response, "It wasn't that good, surely?"

She waved her free hand dismissively at him, "Nonsense! If you're fed by someone you love, it'll always taste great... Even if I fed you a dead rat."

"No, that would definitely taste awful," he responded, specifically at the last part.

With a mischievous smile, she whispered, "Do you want to test it?"

"...No, I don't," he nonchalantly replied as he bit into his bread. He was a bit surprised when it did, indeed, taste a bit better than usual but he chalked it up to the guess that maybe the bread he was given was one of the recently ordered ones.

The atmosphere on the roof really was calming. The only things Ciel could feel were the warmth from Miki's arm locking itself around his, and the noticeably stronger breeze, probably because they were on the roof. A few seconds passed with nothing really filling in the silence until a question popped up in his head.

"How'd you even get access to the roof?"

"There are a few keys in the astronomy club."

"You're in the astronomy club?"

She daintily shook her head in response.

A slightly grim expression formed on his face as he imagined that she probably snuck in to get that, but his theory was quickly disproven.

"I asked a friend to lend one to me."

With a weak sigh, he stood up pulling her along with him. Before going back to class, he noticed what looks to be one of his classmates sitting on the bleachers watching someone just run. With a quick shrug, he made his way back to class, his girlfriend still having her arms locked to his. He didn't really mind but he knew his class definitely would.

Unsurprisingly, them entering the class, arms locked with each other, invited a lot of attention. Looking over to the front of the class, he noticed that he wasn't mistaken. A seat that was taken up by his classmate was still empty.

"Hey, can you let go now and sit at your table?" he thoughtlessly requested.

"No?"

Why she answered like she was asking, he didn't know either. Though it may have had something to do with the fact that she tried her best impression of puppy-eyes which didn't really work on him.

"Seriously...? Well, suit yourself," he stated as he sat at his table. She momentarily let go of her lock on his arm before proceeding to straddle him, much to his protest. Looking at her eye to eye, he somewhat started to regret agreeing to this so haphazardly.

Before he could even try to get her off him, a classmate of his screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Ciel! What do you think you're doing?!" a red-haired girl yelled at the couple. She had medium-length, light red hair, and shiny blue eyes. She was also one of the few students that wore the normal student uniform: a white top with a beige sweater over it and a medium-length, red skirt. She also wore small, oval-like, red glasses.

"Fuki, calm down. I'm not doing anything, she's the one doing something," Ceil calmly replied, his tone not very different from the usual.

"Wha— Then do something about it?!"

"Trust me when I say that I've tried."

Miki, who looked she was completely oblivious to their conversation, was lightly tapped on the shoulder. Fuki, the representative of the class, then started to inform her that was she was doing was completely inappropriate, but her lecture was quickly ignored by Miki. As she continued to try and scold her, Miki gave her a quick glare that felt like she was about to get stabbed, but Fuki was unrelenting. After she recomposed herself, she gave an equal glare at Miki. The two looked like they were having a mental battle.

The class just watched as the two girls glared at each other menacingly. Though to the majority of the class, they just looked like they were having a very impromptu staring contest. Of all the times where the teacher was absent, why did it have to be now? He didn't usually enjoy being in class but this time, he practically begged for someone with authority to just barge in and end the whole ordeal.

As awkward silence filled the class as the two just kept staring at each other, with the class just focused on them. In the few moments of silence that he was given, he had thought of something which he quickly put into action.

Resting his hand on top of Miki's head, her gaze was quickly set to his. Her eyes now far softer and brighter compared to the scary and cold look she gave Fuki.

"We'll go out together later, okay? You can touch me all you want then," he said, not really minding the lewd connotations that could imply. He could see her expression visibly burst out as her face looked like a child that just got a birthday present. The class also visibly blushed, either because of how bold that was or because they got secondhand embarrassment from his rather forward invitation. Either way, he didn't mind too much.

As she walked back to her seat, the class rep tapped him on the shoulder.

"So what's that about?"

With a shrug, he replied, "Don't know. Guess it's cause we're dating."

"Ah...well, good luc—what?" The last part of that sentence caught him off-guard. "You're telling me you managed to make Miki fall in love with you?" Her tone very was very quiet, probably not to attract any more unneeded attention.

"...Why else would she sit on top of me like that?" He had a point but she simply pinched the bridge of her nose in response.

"You and I need to have a talk later." She worded it as if she was going to be talking about the birds and the bees with her own son.

"'Kay."

As the hours passed by, so did the mundane classes. The only thing going through his mind was what Fuki wanted to talk about. Well, that, and his classmate who had yet to return despite school nearly being over. Grabbing a pen and paper, he left a note on the desk and left to go have his talk.

You would assume he was going to get confessed to, considering he was walking towards the back of the school. As he rounded a corner, there he saw Fuki resting her body against a wall. With a small wave to each other, the two first made some idle chatter before moving on to the main topic.

"So you started dating again?" she asked, furrowing her brow.

Ceil didn't really respond, he just gave her a slightly sad look and the situation was already understood.

"Not normal again, huh?" she rhetorically asked. Resting her hand on her hip, she continued on, "What're you gonna do this time?"

"'What am I gonna do'? Just go on as normal, probably," he replied, the energy in his voice lower than usual.

With a sigh, she responded, "Whatever makes you happy, I guess. Also, whose bag is that?" she asked while pointing at the other bag slung over his shoulder.

"Oh, this is just Miki's. She's waiting for me at the gate."

With a quick gesture, the two walked away. Fuki still having some unfinished business to take care of in the school apparently.

As he walked towards the gate, he could see his girlfriend enthusiastically waving at him. She questioned if he was done with what he had to do which he nodded to.

"Whose bag is that by the way?" she asked, pointing at the bag slung over his shoulder.

"Oh, this? Just a friend's."

As the two walked home from school, she was visibly excited at the prospect of their date. Her well-mannered personality seemed to have evaporated the moment she developed feelings for Ceil. That memory was something that Ceil wasn't too particularly fond of.

She still kept up her appearance when she was alone with her friends, but whenever she was with Ceil she would always just let her emotions loose, not really caring for their surroundings. That last part he at least knew, judging from the way she acted in the classroom earlier.

But Ceil wasn't particularly too happy about the whole situation, this was just another girl after all. A long list of girls had dated him before, them not being that different from Miki's obsessiveness. He heaved a heavy sigh, perhaps hoping that this time would be different.
