Chapter 20 - 20. Sorry if They Just Talk to Each Other All the Time

Evan, Kara, Shane, and Popo sit on plain metal folding chairs, around a plain-looking table, in a room with a plain gray wall that has a mirror on one side of the wall.

Meanwhile, Mimi, who had turned into a cellphone, was lying on the plain table. Around that cellphone, there are paper cups filled with water. It's white, so it seems like it complements the plainness of the place.

They are in a room that looks like a plain interrogation room in the movies.

Shane rested his forehead on the plain table. His mouth continued to let out an incoherent mess that had not stopped for a long time. "Haiswahsajsuakasjha ...."

"Can you stop that, Shane? Your ugly voice can drive me crazy," Evan said in an irritated tone.

"Haiscsewsusosishong!!!" Shane grumbled even louder.

Feeling pointless arguing with his friend, Evan turned to Popo, who was also sitting next to him.

"Are you really okay?" Evan asked the potato chips girl.

"It's all right, Master." Popo smiled and held the bandage that wrapped her stomach. The bandage is now much better than before, which was haphazardly made from Evan's torn T-shirt. "But, I actually prefer Master's bandages."

Those words made Evan smile. In this confusing situation, Evan is very grateful that Popo can always lift his morals.

"But maybe you should be seen by a doctor," Evan suggested. Earlier, there was a commotion because Popo didn't want to be treated and still wanted to be with Evan, even though Evan himself had explained. Not even anesthetics could stop the potato chip girl. Even though her body is small, her strength is so extraordinary that it overwhelms people.

Popo shook his head hard, then looked at his master with teary eyes. "No way, Master! I want to always be by Master's side!"

Evan widened his smile. He couldn't argue when Popo was like that. He didn't want to hurt that girl's feelings again.

Suddenly, Evan heard a loud cough. The young man then looked at Kara who was sitting in front of him. The girl stroked her bandaged elbows, but her face turned away.

Evan immediately understood that Kara also wanted attention.

"So, are you all right, Kara?" He then sighed.

"Why do you ask in such a tone?" Kara asked in an exasperated tone.

"Since you can get angry again, it looks like you are really okay, huh?" Evan laughed scornfully.

Kara made a fist. The corners of his eyes twitched and his mouth tightened.

"But, thanks for helping me by attracting the monster's attention," Evan said and gave his smile like when he smiled at Popo.

Kara's angry expression immediately disappeared. The girl faced another direction again with a flushed face. "Huh, because of that my hand hurt, you know!"

"I'm grateful too, Kara. You're willing to risk your life so I can activate my special move." Popo said with a very gentle tone and a warm smile. "I judged you wrong. It turns out that you really care about my Master."

Instantly, Kara stared at the potato chip girl. She gawked for a few seconds, before finally speaking. "Can I hug you, Popo?"

While widening his smile, Popo nodded firmly. Kara immediately got up, went over, and buried Popo's head in her chest.

"You are the sweetest girl I've ever met, Popo." Kara smiled happily.

Popo hugged the slim girl's body back. Seeing the sight, Evan couldn't help smiling again. He didn't know why the sight was so pleasing to him.

"Kara used my scooter to do acrobatics to attract the attention of that monster," Shane said in a very flat tone. Then, he straightened himself up with an expression that was also flat. "That's my scooter ...."

"Thanks, Shane," Evan said simply.

Noticing the two girls who were still hugging each other, Shane put his chin on the table. "Anyway, I just found out you can do acrobatics like that, Kara."

Kara, who was stroking Popo's hair, was silent for a moment. "Actually, on certain afternoons, I train with the motorbike club kids. Well, it's nothing really, I'm just interested in their actions. I've been doing it since the second grade of high school."

Evan crossed his arms, leaning his back against the chair. "No wonder on certain afternoons we can't ask you to hang out."

"Then, why didn't you tell us about that?" Shane asked. "And why have I never seen your action on social media? A girl like you who does extreme acrobatics should have gone viral."

"I don't like going viral."

Evan chuckled. "She must be threatening the boys who train with her. They are prohibited from spreading it to social media. Once they feel Kara's beating, they won't dare mess around."

Kara snorted. She was about to hit Evan's head, but Popo immediately caught her hand.

"I already think of you as a friend, Kara. But I don't want you to hurt my master again." Popo gave a meaningful smile.

Kara stared at Popo's expression for a moment, then lowered her hand and sighed. "Ah, you must be so happy, Evan. There is someone who looks after you like that."

Evan shrugged his shoulders.

"You haven't answered my question, Kara. Why didn't you tell us about it?" Shane asked again.

Taking a deep breath, Kara walked to the corner of the room while scratching her hair. Her face looked so upset. "I don't want you to worry. Acrobatics with motorbikes like that is very dangerous. You two will become annoying if you know my extreme activities. You guys will definitely prevent me from doing something like that."

Shane and Evan exchanged glances.

"I'm actually proud to have a girl friend who can perform like that, Kara." Shane raised an eyebrow

Evan chuckled again. "I'm not worried about your injury or anything, Kara. After all, half of your body is made up of gorilla genes. You must be very resilient to accidents. The proof is that your elbow is injured and you look fine."

"And you don't care what injury you will suffer, right? You have always been so tough like a caveman. You're not like most girls. " Shane added.

"So, we won't interfere with your choices." Evan looked at Shane, who immediately nodded.

"I see." A terrifying aura started coming out of Kara's body. Turning his back on her two friends, she clenched her fists again. Her mouth let out a giggle that gave Evan and Shane goosebumps. Evan immediately hides behind Popo's back, while Shane looks around frantically, looking for a hiding place. Until finally, he went under the table.

"You guys ..." Kara hissed like a snake. Popo immediately stood up with a wary expression.

Kara has turned around, about to do something, but her attention is immediately drawn to the door that was opened from the outside. Two men entered the room

"Dad?" Evan raised an eyebrow at the sight of his father.

Tony just shrugged with a tired expression.

"Sorry, you've been waiting a long time." The voice came from the man who was accompanying Tony. Even though his face is wrinkled and his white hair is already decorated with baldness, signs of his old age, his body is still well-built. He still looks handsome wearing a white short sleeves shirt with vertical stripes. "You all must be hungry, right? We better talk while we eat. I've ordered food for you."

The old man smiled pleasantly, but for no apparent reason, Evan didn't like that smile. Evan felt that the old man's smile seemed to hold a lot of secrets.

"Ah, it's rude for me not to introduce myself." The man widened his smile. "Just call me Jon."
