----------------------------------------

The Goddess and The God.

Two timeless entities with immense power in the void of infinite space and darkness.

In the beginning they were devoted to the most carnal impulses. They gave themselves to each other, they liked destruction or anything that could amuse, entertain them. They were selfish beings.

But, like everything else, they got bored of that too.

The two Gods in a situation of desperation decided to do the opposite of what they had done so far, life.

They created, the universe, the galaxies, the systems, the stars and the planets, but something was missing. They had created something beautiful, of that they were sure, but it felt sad that there was so much beauty wasted.

So they began to create species of animals on different planets.

Animals with different numbers of legs, arms and heads. With different internal systems and with different mentalities. They kept trying until they created beings they were proud of.

They created a lot of animals, beasts and beings that we could not even imagine, until they found a solution to their problems, human beings.

They were independent beings, with the ability to exploit and admire the beauty of their work, and also with a high capacity for survival.

Both Gods, seeing how everything was going well, decided to rest and take some time for themselves.

Upon awakening, both Gods were stunned by what they witnessed. The human being had developed differently on each planet, but what surprised them most was that there were planets that had been destroyed, others where the beauty of the planet had been extinguished and others where they were about to result in one of the previous options.

This created the first question that the Gods answered differently: What do we do with human beings?

It is true that they were both proud of creating humans, and somehow the results they had showed the high capacity of humans to develop, but at what point had they lost their way? What had they done wrong during their development for the planets to be destroyed?

Although the Goddess wanted to eliminate the Humans, God convinced her to give them another chance, but this time they would supervise their development.

Determined, and at a distance that we can consider infinite between the existing colonies of humans, they planted the seed of Human Beings in a place called planet Earth.

The first millions of years went well. Humans coexisted with nature, with the planet they lived on and used their environment to survive and improve their lifestyle.

Although it is true that there was something they disliked, violence among beings of the same race. It was something they had seen in other species, but they didn't like the idea of humans among themselves driving each other out, killing each other and hating each other. But they let it go.

Then came a time that caught their attention. It's not because they did anything that previous civilizations had not done, however, the Egyptians had a very strong slave culture, and they worshipped gods that did not exist out of a need to explain both their graces and their misfortunes.

Seeing the development the Egyptians had, the gods decided to do something. Both gods selected several people and gave them some of their powers. Lightning, fire, hunting, nature, love, death, shadows, water, wind...

These new beings, above humans, but below the gods, had to keep contact with humans to a minimum. And as proof, the gods only let them contact with one civilization, Greece.

The Greeks developed a whole mythology about these beings they called gods. In fact, these demigods helped them to improve as a civilization. But the demigods also fought among themselves, causing that civilization to also suffer wars and to see the injustice that human beings also have within themselves.

The two Gods decided not to intervene and let the demigods go on with their own, reaching the Roman civilization and civilizations of the East like China.

Although these demigods were given different names depending on where they went, they themselves did not change much.

For example, Roman society evolved and improved by worshipping them. But in the end society still did not change as much as the two gods expected. Laws were made to uphold what was just, however, all that was only for a few people. There were still wars, mistreatment of the weak, abuse of power, corruption....

In the end, God decided to act alone for the first time, without the help of the Goddess. He sent to Earth a person to speak for him, to say that good exists, and that it is necessary to contribute to peace and understanding between people, that regardless of wealth, we are all equal.

The Goddess was angered by God's act of independence, but let him do as he pleased, forbidding the superhumans to act wherever the influence of God's experiment reached. Although, in the end, God had put an ultimatum to humanity, depending on how they acted he would let them live or not.

God, seeing the reaction of mankind, wept. He did not understand how intelligent beings like them could think only of their own selfishness instead of the race. But it was not all bad, there were people who fought for those ideals, but time transformed those ideals into an excuse to kill and spread corruption.

Since then God, turning his eyes to the good deeds of humanity, intends to eliminate the human race, but not in the old way, destroying without further ado, he wanted to see them suffer, begging for help, for this he used races that he had created with the Goddess. Orcs, dragons, werewolves, vampires, skeletons, and many more than man is unable to imagine.

But the Goddess could not see how God destroyed mankind, so she formed a pact with the demigods to fight for her. That was fine with God, since he also saw the demigods as superhumans. In fact, it seemed better to him, it made the humans' resistance more fun.

The war was called by those who participated in it, the 1000 year war. At the end God had not achieved his goal, and the number of demigods fighting for mankind had been greatly reduced. Then the God and the Goddess spoke.

In their conversation God asked the Goddess why she was opposed to the destruction of the human race, that they could create a less harmful one. The Goddess gave an answer that God did not expect.

"Humans are our children, they harm themselves, those around them, but it is our duty to guide and teach them. During all this time that I have been observing them it is true that evil acts exist and do great harm to humanity, but have you not noticed? Humans are capable of the best and the worst, of the most terrible and the most beautiful, of the most cruel, but also of the most tender. You've seen that too all this time haven't you?"

God did not know what to answer. Inside he knew that The Goddess was right, but he could not simply forgive humans. So God proposed one thing.

"Two hundred years. I don't know if it will be enough, but that's what I give as a truce for superhumans and humans to achieve a world of peace where beauty and goodness shine."

Just like that God left.

The Goddess talked about what to do during that time with the demigods and they decided the plan to act in the following years. To bring a social revolution, to protect nature, people, to punish conflicts, injustices and to protect the place where they belong.

At first everything seemed to be going well, even keeping minimal contact and with pseudonyms, the demigods, even being as few as they were because of the war, seemed to be bringing humanity to that point of stability that was required.

But like a ferris wheel, humanity seemed to lose its way again, crisis, social unrest, more wars, deaths, refugees... The Goddess was desperate, what had they done wrong to reach that point again?

The Goddess tried to beg God for more time, but got nothing. With that in mind she and the superhumans decided to move on to the next plan, to create more superhumans.

So the superhumans and the Goddess began to watch over humanity. Who would be chosen as demigods. The Goddess knew that she could not make the mistakes of the past, they could not be random people, they had to defend humanity and turn humanity into something better.

The Goddess then spoke to the demigods and offered them a plan, a plan where she would create The Apostles, the ones who would bring salvation to mankind.
