Yue walked out of the temple entrance to see that the sun had already gone down, and the moon's light was cascading down through the treetops giving the area a little bit of illumination. "Figures no one would be here..." Yue frowned. She had held a little hope that maybe just maybe, Miss Clara would have come to look for her. But with how many goblins were on the first floor, it was pretty much a given that she was written off as dead.
Yue stretched and looked up at the sky through the trees and took a deep breath. The fresh air really relaxed her. She was deciding whether or not to head back right away or take this chance to train her magic some more. But before she could decide, she heard the sound of sticks breaking near her, putting her on guard. "Young Miss!"
The sound of her maid Momo entered her ears. She turned to see her teary eyed maid running towards her with a lantern in her hand. "Young Miss, you're alive! They said you were dead!"
Momo hugged Yue tightly as she cried tears of joy. "I knew you were not dead. As soon as I heard word from the academy, I came searching for you. I knew how much training you went through and knew you wouldn't have died so easily."
"It seems you are indeed alive." Another voice floated into Yue's ears, causing her to frown a little. This seemed to anger the one the voice belonged to. " Why are you making such a disgusting face! Do you know how hard it was for me to gather people to search for you!? I know I am late, but it took time to get some knights to help me..."
Yue smiled. It seemed this Princess was not so bad after all. "I thank you for your care and concern, Princess Venessa."
"Humph! I just did not wish to see my savior die for no reason. I was prepared to do all I could to either see you alive or your corpse." Princess Venessa looked away, blushing slightly.
"Sadly, I am alive. But I must request you speak to your father to have the army pay more attention to goblin reports. They left this den here at the request of the academy, but three girls had already been captured and were being used as breeders. Fortunately, I was able to give them a painless end… so that they would not suffer anymore." Yue's words drifted off at the end. She hated even thinking about what those girls had gone through.
"Miss Yue, it is not that the King did not order people to clear out the nest, but the people of the academy protested and requested the king to leave the nest in the temple for training of their students." One of the lead knights stepped forward and informed.
"I don't care who requests what. Leaving goblins like this puts the people of this kingdom at risk, especially the younger females who have just come of age and are turning into women. They are the type that the goblins love to snatch up the most. By sending in useless students like you did this time, not only would you be sending the students who have no idea what they are doing to their deaths but also offering up more breeders to the damn goblins!" Yue was angry. To hear such an excuse really did not sit well with her after what she had seen!
"Yue is right..." Princess Venessa cut in. "It is not right for the academy to justify a goblin nest near a small village with little to no protection to be used for training. They could easily do such things in a contained environment. This whole training method alone needs to be re-thought out. After witnessing people unable to even move in the face of a monster when they are to be the future protectors of our kingdom, it makes me wonder just what the heads of our academy are thinking. If they live and are sent to the front lines, they will be of no use. They would end up getting someone killed while trying to save their own lives during their panic."
"To think Princess Venessa is actually speaking sense for once." Yue said with a chuckle.
"That was not needed, Yue." Princess Venessa did not get mad, instead, she crossed her arms across her chest and smiled. They seemed to have gotten closer since fighting together.
"So my guess is that the academy has proclaimed me dead with how much Momo is crying. Is this correct, Princess Venessa?" Yue asked.
"That is true. The academy also punished Miss Clara, who tried to set up a group of seniors to help come search for you. They are trying to hide the fact that a commoner risked their life to save a group of nobles who were too scared to do anything. The other commoners were also made to seal their lips. For you to turn up now would definitely give them a severe blow." Princess Venessa was disgusted with how the academy was acting. She felt anyone who was willing to risk their life for others should be considered a hero.
Yue's lips curled up just thinking about their pale faces when she walked in through the academy gates. "Then we should arrive with fanfare, don't you think, Princess?"
"You got another one of your schemes planned, don't you?" Princess Venessa walked over to Yue and leaned in to hear what she had to say. The more she heard, the more her eyes were filled with excitement." Hahaha! This I love! Yes. Albert, I will need you and your men's help with this. I also need to gather a few more people to make sure it is all perfect."
Princess Venessa explained what Yue's plan was, causing Albert the knight who spoke out before to let out a laugh. "Haha! Miss Yue, Princess, leave the festivities to me. I promise a hero shall always have a grand parade when returning home."
